Background / History

Dragon Tiger Mountain is the ancestral home of the Celestial Master Mansion, a major sacred ground of the Taoist Talisman School. Its inheritance emphasizes the balance and union of yin and yang, represented by the Yang Thunder Dragon and Yin Fire Tiger. 71

The mountain came under pressure during the conflict with the Jiangzhou Lin Clan, prompting the Celestial Master Mansion to withdraw its forces and defend the ancestral home. 61 It later endured a major assault by the Human Realm Dao Kingdom; although not reduced to ruins, its mountain gate was badly shaken and required extensive reconstruction. 306

As the Celestial Master Mansion’s influence expanded, Dragon Tiger Mountain became the center from which Lei Jun inspected and maintained contact with branches of the Talisman School, beginning with the nearby Cloud Firmament Mountain Range. 320

The mountain became a key base for Taoist artifact development. Celestial Master Mansion disciples, alongside Mount Shu Sect and Mysterious Machine Temple cultivators, deployed large formations of standardized pill-furnace artifacts to suppress the black mist leaking from Earth Sea cracks. The formation could be operated by Middle and Lower Three Heavens disciples, demonstrating the sect’s scalable artifact methods. 413

The Yang Thunder Dragon and Yin Fire Tiger are regarded as the strongest dragon-and-tiger pairing within the inheritance: heavenly thunder joined with earthly fire. 71

Dragon-Tiger Combination Strike

The union of dragon and tiger is a defining principle of Dragon Tiger Mountain’s arts. Lei Jun employed the Dragon-Tiger Combination Strike against Ye Mu and later against enemies at Vajra Temple. 311 375

Later generations developed distinct versions of this principle. Chi Haifeng’s combination strike joins a starlight dragon derived from the Life Cultivation Middle Heaven Falu with the Returning Origin Tiger, a manifestation of his Myriad Phenomena Returning to Origin Falu. 587

Major Events

• Defense during the Lin Clan crisis — The Celestial Master Mansion recalled its forces to defend Dragon Tiger Mountain amid the Jiangzhou Lin Clan’s pressure on the Purple Firmament Sect. 61
• Human Realm Dao Kingdom attack — The mountain gate was heavily damaged in the conflict and subsequently underwent major reconstruction. 306
• Great Han reform — After Lei Jun defeated Great Han Celestial Master Ji Daocheng, the Great Tang Celestial Master Mansion completed a Daoist reform in the Great Han Human Realm. 457 464
• Expansion of external branches — Guo Yan planned to establish a new Talisman School branch outside the ancestral home, reflecting the sect’s continued growth. 542
• Human-world merger — Following the merger of human worlds, Dragon Tiger Mountain did not participate in the meeting of major dynastic envoys, while its influence remained a factor in the decisions of other powers. 536

Great Han Dragon Tiger Mountain

A counterpart Celestial Master Mansion existed in the Great Han Human Realm. It had long been considered the foremost sacred ground of the righteous Dao there, with a history of producing multiple Ninth Heaven Great Vehicle High Truth cultivators. 403 408

Its sect leader, Ji Daocheng, was recognized as the leading expert among Great Han Taoist sects and received exceptional respect from the Han imperial house. 403 The Great Han lineage could confer talismans capable of supporting Ninth Heaven cultivators, indicating the backing of an immortal-level source. 408

Despite its prestige, the Great Han mountain’s lack of a decisive response to pressure from Great Sky Temple and the Sumeru Treasure Division raised doubts about its condition. 403 408 Its ancestral home later withdrew into the Supreme Clarity Salvation Grotto-heaven, disrupting Talisman Conferral for its scattered branches. 446

Lei Jun and Xu Yuanzhen ultimately attacked the Great Han Dragon Tiger Mountain. Xu Yuanzhen’s reversed Heaven, Earth, and Human Writing Talismans disrupted its connection with Zhou Heavenly Daoist, while Lei Jun trapped the Dragon Tiger Altar with twelve talismans and defeated Ji Daocheng. 456 457

Following the battle, the Great Tang Celestial Master Mansion carried out Daoist reform in the Great Han Human Realm. Existing disciples who had received Zhou Heavenly Daoist’s talisman conferrals faced severe difficulty changing their cultivation, but a path of advancement was left open for Middle Three Heavens cultivators. 460 464

• Dragon Tiger Altar — The crucial altar of the Great Han Dragon Tiger Mountain lineage; Lei Jun restricted it with twelve talismans during his confrontation with Ji Daocheng. 456 457
