Personality

Qian Renxue is proud, politically calculating, and protective of her undercover identity. She insists that Xue Qianren maintain their father-and-son cover in public and rejects his demands for immediate assassinations, arguing that action requires the right timing. Even after losing the crown prince position, she sees an opportunity in teaching the newly recognized heir to govern, believing him to be a Spirit Hall ally 5 6 12.

Her confidence can lead her to accept a convincing explanation too readily. She mistakes Xue Qianren’s golden Martial Soul and the name Jin Li for evidence of a connection to Golden Crocodile Douluo, though she still orders a secret investigation 4 5.

Beneath her authority, she is lonely and deeply affected by betrayal. She enjoys having someone to bicker with, mourns Xue Qianren despite his exposure of her, and later avoids becoming close to Bai’e because she fears another loss. Her attachment to Jin Li becomes openly affectionate and possessive, while her relief at Qian Renyou’s survival reveals how much she values her other self 6 16 30 31 51 52.

History

Heaven Dou Infiltration

Qian Renxue killed the original Xue Qinghe and assumed his identity as part of Spirit Hall’s infiltration of the Heaven Dou Empire. By the time Xue Qianren appears, she has built substantial court connections and political support under the crown prince’s name 2 12.

Xue Qianren’s claim to be Xue Qinghe’s son threatens that cover. During the imperial bloodline examination, she secretly substitutes the blood she submits, but the test nevertheless establishes the supposed father-and-son relationship. Xue Ye recognizes the boy as his firstborn imperial grandson and orders her to raise him personally, threatening her position if he is harmed 3 4.

In private, she reveals her true identity and questions the child. Convinced that he is connected to Golden Crocodile Douluo, she shelters him, offers to help him obtain a Soul Ring, and orders She Long to send a confidential report to her “Second Grandpa” 4 5.

Loss of the Crown Prince Position

Xue Qianren kills Xue Beng and publicly attributes sweeping political ambitions to his supposed father. The resulting scandal costs Qian Renxue the crown prince position, confines her to the Crown Prince’s Residence, and drives away more than half her retainers. Meanwhile, Xue Qianren becomes the court’s acknowledged heir 9 12.

After venting her anger at him, she begins teaching him governance. She also considers using his betrothal to Dugu Yan to draw both Dugu Yan and Dugu Bo into Spirit Hall 12 13.

The infiltration collapses when Golden Crocodile confronts Xue Qianren. Burning his bloodline and life force, the boy publicly exposes her impersonation and accuses Spirit Hall of trying to murder him. Realizing that he has deceived her, Qian Renxue attacks, but Dugu Bo intervenes. Golden Crocodile knocks her unconscious and takes her away 15.

After waking, she grieves over Xue Qianren’s death. When Snake Lance treats his death as politically advantageous, she challenges him, and a deep black shade appears in her pupils 16.

Reunion and Reconciliation

Six years after the Xue Qianren incident, Bai’e appears carrying bloodlines from both Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong. Qian Renxue and her other self, Black Snow, recognize the implication: Jin Li has returned through another identity 19.

Bai’e visits the Elder Hall claiming to be Bibi Dong’s disciple. Qian Renxue examines his Angel God Sword and leads him into a hidden passage beneath her bedroom to test his bloodline. Qian Renyou takes control during the descent and attacks him in the chamber below. Qian Renxue briefly attempts to regain control while Qian Renyou restrains him and drains his power 21 22.

Through the Yin-Yang Twin Birth Mirror, Jin Li finally shows her his original body and explains his imprisonment, his clones, and his use of faith to gain the strength to escape. Qian Renxue accepts his explanation and forgives him, choosing not to press him about every other clone 24.

Preserving Qian Renyou

As Qian Renxue’s relationship with Jin Li improves, Qian Renyou begins fading. Qian Renxue explains that this other self is connected to an Angel God Trial involving confrontation with her own heart, but she does not want to lose her 31.

Jin Li creates Qian Xiao You using their blood, providing Qian Renyou with a body capable of housing her core consciousness. Qian Renxue embraces the child in relief and declares that, as her and Jin Li’s child, Qian Xiao You should call her “Mom” 31.

Relationship with Jin Li

Although she knows Bai’e and Jin Li are the same person, Qian Renxue prefers interacting with Jin Li’s original body. Bai’e’s closeness to Hu Liena nevertheless makes her jealous, prompting her to ask whether the mirror can transport her to him 30 51.

Jin Li warns that her original body’s arrival could expose their relationship to the gods. At her request, he instead creates a clone sharing her consciousness. Through that body, she joins him, confesses her love, and begins an intimate relationship with him 51 52.

The Soul Beast War

Qian Renxue receives reports about Spirit Hall’s failed expedition and the capture of Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo. After the Star Luo Empire’s destruction, she also questions whether humans can fight alongside Soul Beasts, discussing the increasingly complicated division between the opposing sides with Jin Li 51 54.

During Bibi Dong’s absence, she occupies the papal throne and discusses Spirit Hall’s response with Bai’e. She recognizes the danger of rescuing elders who may remain under enemy control and argues that Spirit Hall must understand that control before acting 59 60.

Her expectation that Spirit Hall can eventually overwhelm its enemies is challenged by Bai’e’s warning about Tang San: despite being restricted to level 99, he may be able to defeat the three previous-generation Peerless Douluos alone. Bai’e also tells her that Bibi Dong will most likely be unable to become a god 60.
