Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Level 90 21 Reached this level on the day Ah Yin gave birth to Tang San, before obtaining his ninth soul ring. Recounted retrospectively to his son.
Nine-ring Titled Douluo 21 Ah Yin sacrificed her hundred-thousand-year cultivation to become his ninth soul ring. His injuries healed and his strength surged, making him the continent’s youngest Titled Douluo at the time.

Background / History

Marriage to Ah Yin

Tang Hao and his elder brother, Tang Xiao, met Ah Yin while traveling the continent. Both fell in love with her, and the three became sworn siblings. Tang Xiao eventually withdrew and returned to the Clear Sky Sect. Ah Yin then revealed to Tang Hao that she was a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor in human form; he accepted her identity 21.

According to Tang Hao’s account, Spirit Hall attacked while he was taking Ah Yin to meet his father. He repelled its Titled Douluo, but the Pope subsequently issued a decree denouncing the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Hao’s father died of anger, Tang Xiao became sect master, and Tang Hao married Ah Yin. The couple spent nine years in hiding, which he remembered as the happiest years of his life 21.

Ah Yin’s Sacrifice

On the day Tang San was born, Tang Hao reached level 90 and Ah Yin entered the mature stage of her human transformation. Qian Xunji then surrounded their home with Spirit Hall forces. Badly wounded while defending his family, Tang Hao survived because Ah Yin sacrificed herself and transferred her soul ring to him 21.

Tang Hao told Tang San that he subsequently fought for three days and nights, killed one Titled Douluo, and severely wounded Qian Xunji and another Titled Douluo. Qian Xunji returned to Spirit Hall gravely injured, where Bibi Dong later killed him; Tang Hao inflicted the injuries but was not his direct killer 18 21.

Tang Hao escaped with Tang San, Ah Yin’s surviving grass seed, and her soul bone. After the Clear Sky Sect announced his expulsion and closed itself off, he settled in Holy Soul Village as a blacksmith. He planted Ah Yin’s seed in a nearby waterfall cave, preserving a faint possibility that she could regain intelligence and human form 21.

Appearance

Tang Hao’s appearance during his seclusion reflects his heavy drinking and neglect of himself 19.

  • Hair and face: Disheveled hair and a filthy face 19.
  • Clothing: Ragged clothes that make him resemble a destitute drunk 19.
  • Eyes: Normally clouded, but immediately become sharp when he senses a powerful opponent 19.
  • Weapon: An ink-black Clear Sky Hammer, heavy enough to crack the arena floor as he drags it 19 88.

Personality

Ah Yin’s loss dominates Tang Hao’s life. He spends years drinking and forging iron to escape his grief, while preserving her surviving body as his last hope of recovering her. Threats against that hope provoke immediate rage and desperation 20 21 22.

His grief also makes him a neglectful father. Tang San recalls being left to handle hunger, illness, injuries, and his father’s daily needs. When Ah Yin’s body is stolen, Tang Hao strikes Tang San and suspects that an Evil Soul Master may have possessed him. He later acknowledges his failures and apologizes, but remains privately uncertain about his son’s unexplained knowledge 20 22.

Tang Hao can restrain his anger when circumstances demand it. After discovering Spirit Hall’s connection to the stolen techniques, he avoids attacking a public distribution site and instead plans an ambush. That caution gives way to overconfidence when he believes Qian Renxue has arrived alone: he assumes his past victory over her father guarantees her defeat 83 88.

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao’s tool martial soul specializes in overwhelming strength and accumulating force through successive attacks 88.

  • His opening hammer strike against Qian Renxue is described as powerful enough to crush a ten-thousand-year soul beast 88.
  • He combines soul skills with inherited Clear Sky Sect techniques to deliver sustained, defense-breaking attacks 88.
  • His documented nine-ring configuration is yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, red. The final ring comes from Ah Yin’s sacrifice 88.
Soul Skill Ring Documented Effect
Tai Tan Hammer First A direct hammer strike relying on raw strength 88.
Thunderous Might Second Envelops the hammer in lightning; its lightning spreads across the arena to restrict escape 88.
Armor-Piercing Hammer Third Produces numerous hammer shadows carrying spiraling hidden force, designed to break defensive soul skills 88.
Force to Pull Up Mountains Fourth Enhances strength and increases the power of his hammer attack 89.

Clear Sky Nine Absolutes

The Clear Sky Sect’s nine inherited hammer methods are Void, Seal, Penetration, Permeation, Entanglement, Tremor, Break, Halt, and Collapse 88.

  • Tang Hao combines Penetration with Armor-Piercing Hammer, linking ninety-nine strikes and stacking their force 88.
  • Light Feather Douluo judges that an ordinary Titled Douluo would struggle to withstand even one blow from this combination 88.
  • The combination fails against Qian Renxue because her defensive abilities dissipate and absorb his attacks 88.

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

Tang Hao earned the Slayer title in Slaughter City and possesses Divine Slaughter’s Domain. Before Qian Renxue completed Hell Road, Cheng Ran identified him and Bibi Dong as the only living Slayers 30 82.

  • Allows him to use soul skills normally within Slaughter City, giving him an advantage over opponents subject to its restrictions 83 87.
  • Releases intense killing intent over a documented hundred-meter radius, producing blood-colored frost on the ground 89.
  • Tang Hao states that it reduces an opponent’s strength by ten percent while allowing him to exert 110 percent of his own strength; his speed, power, and soul-power recovery also rise 89.
  • Qian Renxue’s stronger domain overwhelms his during their duel 89.

Great Sumeru Hammer and Ring Detonation

The Great Sumeru Hammer condenses the power of the user’s soul rings into the Clear Sky Hammer, converting it into concentrated strength and attack power. Ring Detonation forcibly explodes the rings for a further burst of power 89.

  • Tang Hao previously used Ring Detonation to repel Spirit Hall’s Titled Douluos and establish his fearsome reputation 89.
  • Against Qian Renxue, multiple detonations create a hundred-meter hammer phantom. Light Feather Douluo assesses the resulting attack as approaching demigod-level power 89.
  • Detonated rings require days or longer to recover, and the technique places an immense burden on the body 89.
  • After Qian Renxue breaks his attack, the backlash ruptures his meridians and rapidly drains his soul power 89.

Spiritual Perception

  • While waiting for the supposed Tang Sect elder, Tang Hao extends his Spiritual Power across a ten-li radius to watch for approaching experts 35.
  • Cheng Ran deliberately flies beyond Tang Hao’s sensing range before changing course toward Spirit City 26.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Clear Sky Hammer — His martial soul and primary weapon, rather than a separately carried hammer 19 88.
  • Six absorbed soul bones — A skull, torso, both arm bones, and both leg bones are extracted from his body after his death. Their individual skills are not specified 90.
  • Clear Sky Sect inheritance bones — His right arm and left leg bones are high-quality heirlooms passed down through the sect. Qian Renxue gives both to Yang Wushuang 90.
  • Storage Soul Tool — Used to carry the six written Tang Sect techniques to the cave meeting 24.
  • Slaughter City Identity Token — Presented alongside his domain to gain entry without interference from the guards 82.
  • Ah Yin’s surviving body and right leg bone — Kept in the waterfall cave before their theft. Her hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone is separate from Tang Hao’s own six absorbed bones 18 20 90.

Story Role / Major Arcs

The False Tang Sect

Cheng Ran uses Tang Hao’s attachment to Ah Yin to obtain Tang San’s secret techniques. A masked Qian Daoliu draws Tang Hao away from Holy Soul Village, fights him while concealing his identity, and claims to be pursuing Tang San on the Tang Sect’s behalf. Meanwhile, Qian Renxue steals Ah Yin’s body and soul bone 19 20.

A message left in the cave demands the return of the Tang Sect’s secret arts within three days, threatening to refine Ah Yin into medicine if the techniques are incomplete or false. Tang Hao forces Tang San to write out all six arts. His interrogation exposes a lasting distrust between father and son, even after he explains Ah Yin’s sacrifice and apologizes for his parenting 20 21 22.

At the subsequent meeting, Cheng Ran controls a disguised Qian Renxue and poses as Tang Laoya, Duck King Douluo. He promises to seek permission for Tang San to join a supposedly powerful Tang Sect hidden in the Far North. Impressed by claims of seven Titled Douluos, including two level-99 Limit Douluos, Tang Hao asks to join as well 25 26.

Search for the Far North Tang Sect

Tang Hao and Tang San wait through the promised ten-day deadline, then continue hoping for the elder’s return. After roughly two months, Tang Hao concludes that the sect has abandoned its promise to return Ah Yin. He sends Tang San to Nuoding City with food and money, then travels north himself 35 41.

His two-month search uncovers no trace of the sect. On returning, he reads Spirit Hall’s freely distributed Angel Sacred Guidance Skill and recognizes the Mysterious Heaven Skill beneath its new name. He concludes that Spirit Hall was behind the theft 82 83.

Ambush and Death in Slaughter City

Tang Hao chooses Slaughter City for his revenge because his domain lets him use soul skills there. He recruits his old acquaintance Yang Wushuang to report Qian Renxue’s movements, unaware that Yang secretly alerts her and encourages his misplaced confidence 83 87.

Their confrontation takes place in the Hell Slaughter Arena. Qian Renxue withstands his hammer combinations, returns absorbed energy through Crimson Flame Furnace, and overwhelms his domain. Even Great Sumeru Hammer reinforced by multiple Ring Detonations fails: her Angel Judgment splits the giant hammer and pierces his chest 88 89.

Tang Hao begs Yang Wushuang to cover his escape, offering to secure him leadership of the Breaking Clan. Yang instead attacks him with venomous scorpions and reveals his allegiance to Qian Renxue. She kills Tang Hao with a sword strike between the eyebrows and extracts all six soul bones 89 90.

Tang San initially dismisses an uneasy feeling at the moment of his father’s death, but later learns that Qian Renxue killed him 90 93.

Relationships

  • Ah Yin — Wife and mother of Tang San. Her sacrifice saves him, and her surviving grass body becomes his last hope of restoring her 21.
  • Tang San — Son. Tang Hao’s neglect and violent interrogation damage their trust; before his final battle, he resolves to survive and make up for his failures as a father 20 22 87.
  • Tang Xiao — Elder brother and successor as Clear Sky Sect master. He steps aside after both brothers fall in love with Ah Yin 21.
  • Tang Chen — Grandfather. Cheng Ran identifies Tang Hao as his grandson while discussing the family’s fate 62.
  • Qian Xunji — Enemy who leads the attack that results in Ah Yin’s sacrifice. Tang Hao gravely wounds him, setting up the grievance later pursued by Qian Renxue 18 21.
  • Qian Daoliu — Concealed opponent during the theft of Ah Yin’s remains. Tang Hao does not recognize him beneath the mask and suppressed aura 19.
  • Qian Renxue — Deceiver, revenge target, and eventual killer. Each seeks retribution for harm done to a family member 26 88 90.
  • Yang Wushuang — Former carousing companion whom Tang Hao trusts as an accomplice. Yang resents the Breaking Clan’s abandonment and uses the ambush to secure advancement under Qian Renxue 83 90.
