Background / History

Origin and Rebirth

The Snow Empress was born from the Far North itself, without parents. Her predecessor explained that a new Far North Innate Spirit can appear only after the previous generation dies or becomes a god and transcends the world 18 22.

Before visiting the Far North, Gu Shengge believed she had failed her tribulation and become a Spirit Embryo. He subsequently found the embryo hidden on the region's outskirts; its concealment was sufficient to escape even a Limit Douluo's detection, though not his divine sense 13 17.

Gu Shengge rebuilt her body with his essence blood. She emerged from the cocoon as a silver-haired woman, retaining her memories but now possessing a dragon bloodline. This bloodline made Gu Shengge's Ancestral Dragon aura intensely attractive to her 17 18.

Reunion with the Ice Empress

Gu Shengge brought Xue'er to the Ice Empress, whose long-standing love for her turned their reunion into a jealous confrontation. When the Ice Empress angrily addressed Gu Shengge, Xue'er responded with a killing-intent-filled glare. The Ice Empress nevertheless agreed to follow him so she could remain near Xue'er 19.

Both women received pills refined from narcissus jade muscle bone. Xue'er's bloodline improved, while the Ice Empress gained a human form without losing her cultivation. They subsequently took turns resting and dual cultivating with Gu Shengge 20 21.

Leng Qinghan's Inheritance

Gu Shengge led the two empresses to an ice-crystal palace several thousand meters beneath the Far North. Neither had previously discovered it, and even at close range they could not detect it with spiritual power 22.

There, the previous Far North Innate Spirit, Leng Qinghan, greeted Xue'er with a tenderness she experienced as maternal affection. Unlike the continent's usual divine inheritances, this legacy required no Divine Examination: Xue'er directly received cultivation and secret methods 22 23.

Leng Qinghan also left a contact mark between Xue'er's brows, allowing her to sense Xue'er's arrival if she reached the same higher plane. Before departing, she entrusted Xue'er to Gu Shengge's care. Xue'er completed the inheritance and absorbed the palace's crown and throne 22 23.

Sea God Island and Spirit City

Xue'er accompanied Gu Shengge to Sea God Island and later watched his million-year Heavenly Tribulation in the Far North. She expressed confidence that he would survive, although his revealed dragon might forced her and the other watching women to their knees 24 25.

She then traveled with him toward Spirit City and stayed in his Small World. He continued summoning her, the Ice Empress, and Sea Witch for cultivation 26 32 40.

Staged Confrontation in the Star Dou Great Forest

After Qian Daoliu boasted that the forest's soul beasts could not challenge him, Gu Shengge asked Xue'er to stage a confrontation. Her arrival froze the outskirts and left Qian Daoliu convinced that he had no chance of defeating her 32.

Acting as a hostile guardian, she forbade humans from entering the forest's core and threatened retaliation against indiscriminate soul-beast slaughter. She then took Gu Shengge away, promising to return him in three days and presenting their arrangement as an exchange involving soul rings and a future divine inheritance 32 33.

The performance was intended to keep Qian Daoliu from disturbing Aya and the other inhabitants of the forest's core. Xue'er carried Gu Shengge to meet Aya and returned him to Spirit City three days later 32 33 34.

Appearance

  • Hair: Long, silver-white hair 18.
  • Build: Slender, standing five feet ten inches tall 18.
  • Complexion: Snow-white, with delicate bare feet when she first emerged from her cocoon 18.
  • Expression: Naturally cold and indifferent, but visibly delighted and affectionate around Gu Shengge 18 33.

Personality

Xue'er contrasts an imposing public demeanor with intense private affection. During the confrontation with Qian Daoliu, she speaks with cold authority; once alone with Gu Shengge, that aloofness disappears. She frequently clings to him, nuzzles his neck, and seeks uninterrupted time together 18 32 33.

Her attachment follows her bloodline transformation rather than an explicit conversion into Gu Shengge's believer. The narration describes her dependence and infatuation as even stronger than those of Bo Saixi and Sea Witch. She readily follows his wishes and reacts fiercely to perceived hostility toward him 18 19.

She does not visibly reciprocate the Ice Empress's romantic devotion. Although they remain close companions, Xue'er sometimes tries to push away her persistent embraces and prioritizes Gu Shengge's attention 19 21.

Abilities & Skills

Ice and Snow Manipulation

Xue'er can alter her surroundings through intense cold and form structures from snow 20 32.

  • Creates a snow house with a wave of her hand 20.
  • Freezes vegetation across the Star Dou Great Forest's outskirts upon appearing 32.
  • Produces falling snow and a thick layer of ground ice as she releases her power 32.

Soul Power and Movement

Her post-inheritance power overwhelms Qian Daoliu's confidence without a direct battle 32 33.

  • Hovers in the air and carries Gu Shengge through the forest 32 33.
  • Pulls him from behind Qian Daoliu into her arms with a gesture 33.
  • Releases soul-power pressure that leaves Qian Daoliu unable to see any prospect of victory 32.

Inherited Cultivation and Secret Methods

Leng Qinghan directly transmits her cultivation legacy and secret methods to Xue'er 22.

  • Receives the inheritance without undergoing a Divine Examination.
  • Gains a contact mark intended to reconnect her with Leng Qinghan on a higher plane.
  • The individual inherited techniques are not named 22.

Reported Protective Mark

As part of his explanation to Qian Daoliu, Gu Shengge attributes an ice-crystal mark between his brows to Xue'er 35.

  • He claims it permits spiritual communication and alerts her when he needs a soul ring.
  • He also claims she can detect mortal danger through it and tear space open to reach him.
  • These functions are described by Gu Shengge rather than demonstrated in the supplied events 35.

Equipment / Items

  • Ice Crystal Crown — Bears Leng Qinghan's aura. Gu Shengge judges it to resemble a Soul Bone condensed by her; it merges into Xue'er's brow when worn 23.
  • Ice Crystal Throne — An elemental treasure condensed from the Far North's utmost yin and cold. It transforms into light and enters Xue'er's body, strengthening her together with the crown 23.

Relationships

  • Gu Shengge — Reconstructs her body, becomes her lover and cultivation partner, and guides her to her inheritance. She normally addresses him as “big brother” 17 18 22.
  • Ice Empress — Fellow Far North Heavenly King and long-standing admirer. Her desire to remain with Xue'er motivates her to follow Gu Shengge 19 25.
  • Leng Qinghan — Predecessor and benefactor, who considers herself an older sister to Xue'er. Her affection evokes feelings of maternal love in the otherwise parentless Snow Empress 22.
  • Qian Daoliu — Target of her staged intimidation. He accepts her restrictions and believes her strength requires a god to oppose 32 33.
  • Aya — Meets Xue'er through Gu Shengge and is astonished to learn that her cultivation exceeds 800,000 years 33.
