In her account, Ye Guixu rescued her, taught her skills, and later departed. She says she had not seen him for five years when he summoned her 18.

Ye Guixu has no memory of this history. He considers whether his future self traveled into her world’s past or whether the Beauty Illustrated Guide implanted memories. The Storage Soul Tool rings carried by Yan Lingji and Tide Siren deepen the mystery: they call them his gifts, while he recognizes them as two rings missing from his own recently acquired possessions 18 19.

She willingly offers to intercept the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s potentially fatal ability, regarding sacrifice for him as natural 18 22.

Her devotion does not prevent independent judgment. She recognizes that corrupting the Blue Silver King would serve Ye Guixu’s revenge better than killing it, and she notices when torturing Tang Hao fails to make him happy. The pair then battle the King of Slaughter. Supported by rapid recovery, the Terminus Domain, and Tide Siren’s clones, they exploit disruptions in the Bat King’s control of Tang Chen and sever all four of his limbs 61 62.

Over the following days and nights, Yan Lingji attacks the outer city and eastern inner district. She joins Tide Siren against the central resistance, combining fire with butterfly powder to overwhelm Soul Saints and Soul Douluos. Together they kill tens of thousands and frighten the survivors into hiding, leaving controlled Black-armored Knights to manage daily operations 65 66.
