Background / History

According to Tide Siren’s memories, Ye Guixu took her away when she was twelve and taught her how to survive. His intervention spared her from becoming her family’s pawn and from joining Ji Wuye’s Four Ferocious Generals. She adopted the moniker Azure Sea Tide Siren because he thought it sounded more forceful 18.

Tide Siren and Yan Lingji remembered Ye Guixu as an adult, powerful teacher whom they had waited a long time to see again. When the Beauty Illustrated Guide summoned them to the Douluo Continent, however, he had no memory of those events. He considered whether his future self might have traveled into their world’s past, but the discrepancy remained unresolved 18.

The Guide guaranteed summoned characters’ loyalty, not their affection. Tide Siren nevertheless arrived with an established attachment to Ye Guixu and immediately chose to follow him in the unfamiliar world 8 18.

Appearance

  • Clothing: Usually wears a trailing purple dress, described at different points as gauze or lace gauze 18 59.
  • Before awakening: Had black hair 20.
  • After awakening: Her hair became dark purple and her eyes deep violet. Her martial soul manifests as an enormous dark-purple butterfly with deep-blue, rune-like patterns along its wing edges 20.
  • Butterfly wings: Can spread dark-purple wings behind her, shedding fragrant, mind-affecting powder 59.
  • Martial Soul Avatar Armor: After Xiao Wu’s sacrifice, a dark-purple bracer appeared on her right arm, with butterfly-wing-patterned armor covering the back of her hand 25.
  • Clone-fusion form: Gains pale-purple facial markings and a more mature appearance when her three clones merge with her 61.

Personality

Tide Siren’s loyalty centers on Ye Guixu personally. She fears losing him again, seeks his approval, and readily volunteers for dangerous tasks. When told about the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s Life and Death Arena, she was willing to sacrifice herself to protect him; he rebuked both women for treating his explanation as an instruction to die 18 19 22.

Her gentleness toward her master contrasts with her cruelty toward his enemies. She offers mental toxins and nightmares as methods of prolonged punishment and regards opposition to Ye Guixu as sufficient reason for retaliation 48 53.

She is also observant and inquisitive. She recognizes that Ye Guixu’s hostility toward the Blue Silver King has a deeper cause, questions the circumstances of Tang God King’s rebirth, and anticipates his intention to dismantle the Asura God’s arrangements in Slaughter City 29 55 59. With Yan Lingji, she maintains a teasing, competitive rapport 61 62.

Abilities & Skills

Soul-Devouring Phantom Butterfly

A top-tier martial soul with Mental Attack, Mental Toxin, and Soul Erosion abilities 20.

  • Butterfly powder: Spreads airborne toxin that attacks victims’ Spiritual Seas, induces hallucinations, and can make them kill one another 59 65.
  • Area coverage: During Slaughter City’s suppression, her mist spread across several thousand meters and engulfed roughly one-third of the northern outer district 65 66.
  • Disruption of possession: Her toxin helped Tang Chen’s consciousness interfere with the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King’s control, creating openings during their battle 61.
  • Nightmare torment: She states that her toxins can corrode the body and trap a victim in nightmares, preventing unconsciousness from providing relief 48.

First Soul Skill — Void Illusion Butterfly

Obtained from Xiao Wu’s Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring 25.

  • Grants immunity to physical attacks.
  • Reduces damage from energy attacks by 50%.
  • Releases Soul-Devouring Butterfly Powder that erodes enemies’ souls and gradually slows their reactions.
  • Once sufficient powder accumulates, it devours part of the target’s soul power to nourish Tide Siren 25.

Second Soul Skill — Phantom Butterfly Clone

Creates physical duplicates with the original body’s full strength and abilities 25.

  • Initially creates three clones, producing four combatants including Tide Siren.
  • Consumes all her soul power upon activation.
  • Clones fight independently while sharing thoughts and perceptions.
  • Tide Siren can switch between her original body and the clones at any time.
  • Clones can assist with cultivation.
  • Each additional soul ring increases the number of available clones by one 25.

During the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger hunt, both Tide Siren and Ye Guixu’s puppet copy of her used the skill, creating eight Tide Siren figures in total. Void Profound Ice immediately replenished the soul power spent on the technique 25.

Clone Fusion and Mental Illusion

Tide Siren can merge her three clones back into herself, stacking the soul power of all four bodies and sharply increasing her spiritual power 61.

  • Used this fusion to overwhelm the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King with a Mental Illusion.
  • Her amplification was further supported by Void Profound Ice and Ye Guixu’s Terminus Domain.
  • Yan Lingji compared the technique to a Martial Soul Fusion Skill because Tide Siren was effectively fusing with herself 61.

Soul Bone Skill — Phantom Light Teleportation

A movement ability supplied by the Soft Bone Rabbit right leg bone 25.

  • Allows instantaneous movement within 100 meters.
  • Can be used consecutively.
  • Leaves mental toxin at each teleportation point, eroding enemies’ souls.
  • Used to flank the King of Slaughter during close combat 25 61.

Soul Bone Skill — Soul-Devouring Golden Body

A defensive and retaliatory ability supplied by the same right leg bone 25.

  • Grants immunity to all damage below god level for three seconds.
  • Doubles her strength while active.
  • Inflicts an equivalent soul-devouring mental toxin on anyone who attacks the golden body.
  • Can be used three times per day.
  • Its stated duration increases by one second every ten ranks 25.

Swordsmanship

Tide Siren combines the Blood-drinking Twin Swords with teleportation, powder, and clone attacks 59 61.

  • Uses cross-shaped slashes and close-range thrusts.
  • Attacks from multiple directions through her clones.
  • Intercepts fleeing opponents while her butterfly powder disrupts their minds 60 61 65.

External Enhancements

  • Void Profound Ice: Triples her attributes and can instantly replenish the soul power exhausted by Phantom Butterfly Clone. Its recovery allows her to sustain prolonged attacks 22 25 61.
  • Grand Void Terminus Domain: Ye Guixu’s domain strengthens her while draining the enemy. In the King of Slaughter battle, it also allows her to use soul skills despite the opposing suppression 60 61.
  • Killing intent absorption: Her origin power absorbs the killing intent released by slain Fallen Soul Masters, contributing to her cultivation growth in Slaughter City 60.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Blood-drinking Twin Swords: Red-and-white swords condensed from soul power, identified as the weapons of the Blood-Clad Marquis, Bai Yifei. Tide Siren and her copies wield them in battle 25 59.
  • Soft Bone Rabbit Right Leg Bone: Produced by Xiao Wu’s sacrifice; grants Phantom Light Teleportation and Soul-Devouring Golden Body 25.
  • Storage Soul Tool Ring: Holds clothing and other possessions. She remembers receiving it from Ye Guixu, who recognizes it as one of the tools missing from his own collection 19.
  • Void Profound Ice: Supplied by Ye Guixu for amplification, recovery, and replenishing soul power. She also implants it in Strength Clan members to make them obedient 22 25 51.

Relationships

  • Ye Guixu — Master, remembered rescuer, and teacher. She follows him across worlds and attributes her later transformation to his arrangements and support 18 22 25.
  • Yan Lingji — Fellow summoned attendant and frequent combat partner. Tide Siren addresses her as “little sister”; their cooperation includes playful rivalry and coordinated assaults 22 61 62 65.
  • Xiao Wu — Source of her first Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring and right leg bone. Ye Guixu arranges the sacrifice, which raises Tide Siren to level 94 24 25.
  • Gu Yuena — Fellow member of Ye Guixu’s traveling group. Ye Guixu asks her to locate strong-bloodline mental-attribute soul beasts suitable for Tide Siren’s future advancement 39 44.
  • Strength Clan — Subjugated on Ye Guixu’s orders. Tide Siren corrupts clan members with Void Profound Ice so they can be assigned to protect the old village chief 51.
  • Tang Chen / King of Slaughter — Opponent whom she and Yan Lingji defeat with Ye Guixu’s domain support 60 61.
