Background / History

Tang Hao followed his son Tang San to the Divine Realm, but his limited aptitude left him with little prospect of further advancement. He eventually asked Tang San to send him and Ah Yin back to the Douluo Continent. Tang San installed him as Plane Master and arranged for Ah Yin to possess the continent as a means of raising their ranks 31.

During his tenure, Tang Hao secretly consumed the plane’s spirit and periodically supported the Holy Spirit Cult. He woke only intermittently—sometimes after centuries or a millennium—and bestowed a god-level Martial Soul on an Evil Soul Master during one awakening a little over a century before the main events. He considered disasters useful because they increased public reverence for Shrek and the Tang Sect, generating faith power 31 65.

Tang Hao and Ah Yin’s undertaking had lasted ten thousand years by the time Di Tian’s heavenly tribulation struck Shrek. Its destruction came when they believed completion might be only a few hundred years, or possibly a century, away 33.

Appearance

Tang Hao’s documented appearance after the tribulation is Yun Ming’s possessed body, rather than his original form 31.

• Clothing: Wears plain black clothes while handling Shrek’s administrative affairs 65.
• Tribulation injury: The seventh heavenly strike destroys the vessel’s genitals; the resulting bodily damage later contributes to energy leakage and declining cultivation 32 67.

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely devoted to Ah Yin. He sacrifices his Plane Master advantages to attempt her rescue and later accepts the indignity of negotiating with Zang Xin for access to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Her apparent death leaves him distraught, while the surviving seed gives him renewed hope 30 33 137.

That devotion coexists with a willingness to sacrifice others. He tricks Yun Ming into expecting rescue before stealing his body, considers killing powerful humans to replenish lost energy, and deliberately encourages evil forces to create demand for Shrek and the Tang Sect’s protection 30 31.

His confidence frequently exceeds his practical ability. He initially dismisses the remaining tribulation strikes, struggles with administration, and mistakes Lin Ming’s fabricated business story for genuine resolve. When the counterfeit-manual scandal creates an enormous compensation claim, he focuses on shifting responsibility away from himself 31 65 97 149.

Tang Hao also values prestige and hierarchy. He restrains himself before Long Yeyue to preserve his borrowed identity and access Shrek’s funds, while privately planning revenge. He regards the continent as territory that Shrek and the Tang Sect should reclaim and rule 67 137.

• Despite resisting successive strikes with both Martial Souls, he fails to protect Ah Yin from the ninth tribulation. Her body is destroyed, and her soul is taken into the Reincarnation Tower without his knowledge 32.

Shrek’s Reconstruction

• Long Yeyue returns as a black pig, reclaims her deputy position, and repeatedly assaults and humiliates him. Her return also permits reconstruction funding to proceed 67.

Auction and Yun Ming’s Return

• Seeking funds, Tang Hao auctions pavilion treasures, including the Secret of the Body. Its sale includes a Federation-filed guarantee of tenfold compensation if counterfeit 114 121.
• He agrees to escort Lin Ming toward Eastsea City, expecting to use the journey to reaffirm Shrek’s strength before pursuing factions 121.
