Background

Di Tian was born during a period of turmoil in the Dragon Clan. Although a Dragon King’s child would ordinarily receive the Dragon God’s protection, he never received that blessing at birth. He served as the Dragon God’s personal guard and later followed the Silver Dragon King to the lower realm 42.

For tens of thousands of years, Di Tian protected the Silver Dragon King and sheltered soul beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest. His reverence for her came from her identity as half of the Dragon God; he therefore recognized the Golden Dragon King as an equally legitimate sovereign when they met 6 9.

Di Tian attributed his prolonged inaction against humanity to the Silver Dragon King’s repeated orders to endure for the larger plan. He cared for the soul beasts as his subjects, but the restoration of the Dragon Clan remained his deepest ambition 9 10 20.

Lin Ming’s demonstrated power also earns his respect regardless of age or race 6 9 10 11.

His earlier restraint conceals deep resentment rather than an absence of aggression. Once freed from the Silver Dragon King’s orders, he embraces revenge against Shrek and becomes indifferent to the number of people killed or injured. During the tribulation, he openly regrets that its gathering time allows residents to escape 10 22.

Di Tian remains calculating even while enraged. He exploits spatial openings to turn enemies against one another, abandons a tempting attack on Yun Ming when he judges it too risky, and bluffs with his aura when his soul power is depleted 18 21 23.

He ultimately values cultivation potential over the sex of his reincarnated body. The Golden Dragon King initially targets Di Tian’s pure dragon flesh and blood as a means of restoring his origin bloodline. Di Tian asks for proof of the revival plan before accepting. After witnessing Lin Ming’s Reincarnation Tower and learning that his own soul can also be reincarnated, he becomes eager to participate 3 7 8 9.

Before Di Tian dies, the Golden Dragon King directs him to attack Shrek rather than the Spirit Pagoda, avoiding damage to the Soul Spirits needed for the revival plan. Lin Ming further instructs him to visit Shrek’s cafeteria first 10 11.

Destruction of Shrek

At the cafeteria, Di Tian discovers meals made from long-extinct soul beasts and locates a vast underground stockpile of frozen corpses. He interprets it as evidence of Shrek’s cooperation with the Spirit Pagoda, then massacres teachers, students, and defenders before confronting Shrek’s senior fighters 12 14 17.

He overpowers Long Yeyue and battles Yun Ming, Long Yeyue, and Ya Li together. After expending his strongest techniques, he releases his suppressed cultivation and summons the 900,000-year heavenly tribulation 15 18 19 21 22.

Following the first lightning strike, Di Tian kills his body and moves the corpse away while leaving his soul anchored above Shrek. The Reincarnation Tower shelters him, and his reverse scale is moved to the Golden Ancient Tree so the lightning continues striking Shrek’s foundations. The devastation reaches the city’s Spirit Pagoda as well; Demon Spirit later reports that half of Shrek City’s population perished 25 47.

Reincarnation and New Allegiance

Di Tian consents to the division of his corpse, accepting that its flesh and blood will aid the Dragon Clan’s revival. He contributes his treasures to the reincarnation arrangements and returns in Ling Ziyue’s body 35 36 42.

Di Ling’er and Lin Ming’s Legacy

Lin Ming plans for Di Tian to operate publicly as his father’s illegitimate daughter, inheriting authority and assets while Lin Ming withdraws from public affairs. As Di Ling’er, Di Tian uses Lin Ming’s final words and a dragon martial soul to support the claimed family connection 134 145.

Di Ling’er then visits Shrek to reclaim the Secret of the Body, ostensibly to burn it as an offering to a deceased brother.
