A violent gale swirled around Revis, forming an invisible wall of wind. His confidence that he could bypass Fu Hua and Su to assassinate the Law-Ruler rested on his speed. Among the many Fusion Warriors, even Kevin had once been astonished by that dazzling, bewildering velocity.
But Revis was now facing Kevin—the first to slay the Seventh, Ninth, and Eleventh Law-Rulers, the one who had made Honkai's apostles tremble in fear.
Revis's extreme speed granted him more than combat advantages; it also gave him a fatal weakness, especially in such a narrow space. After all, relative velocity was still a law of the world.
Kevin frowned slightly. "You're committing suicide."
"Either I die, or you step aside." Revis circled Kevin at incredible speed. If an ordinary person witnessed someone moving that fast, they would surely think something was wrong with their eyes.
Revis merely confronted Kevin like this. He had no absurdly naive idea of "slipping past while Kevin wasn't paying attention," nor did he choose to challenge Kevin head-on. He simply circled him as though playing a childish game from childhood.
"You're stalling for time. I want to know who you're waiting for." If Revis maintained his high-speed movement, Kevin had no good way to deal with him. After all, he had promised not to harm Revis, and the situation was currently deadlocked.
The corner of Revis's lips lifted slightly. "Anyone."
"You should know that the longer this drags on, the more advantageous it is for me." Kevin crossed his arms, guarding the only entrance leading deeper inside.
"Of course I know."
The tense atmosphere lasted several seconds before Revis's unfathomable laughter broke the stalemate.
"Kevin, do you remember something you once said?"
Kevin merely watched Revis in silence. His coat rustled beneath the gale stirred up by Revis.
