Xiao Wu enters the human world to search for her parents, both of whom have been missing for many years. She travels without concealing her soul beast aura, despite being newly transformed and vulnerable to powerful human Soul Masters 4 5.

Yao Xuan recognizes her in Nuoding City and asks Gu Yuena to bring her to their restaurant table. Initially frightened that her identity has been exposed, Xiao Wu relaxes when they identify themselves as fellow members of the Soul Beast Clan. Gu Yuena comforts her and invites her to travel with them 4 5.

Yao Xuan arranges her admission to Nuoding Academy, replacing her work-study certificate with a standard Soul Master admission recommendation. He deliberately leaves her aura unconcealed to attract hostile Soul Masters, trusting his and Gu Yuena’s ability to protect her 5.

Gu Yuena’s Disciple and Tang Hao’s Attack

When Yao Xuan wagers that Xiao Wu can defeat Tang San after six months, he asks Gu Yuena to train her to win through her own abilities. Xiao Wu formally bows to Gu Yuena as her disciple and promises to repay both guardians by winning the match 8 9.

That evening, Tang Hao discovers her identity and attempts to capture her. He intends to imprison her until Tang San is old enough to kill her for a hundred-thousand-year soul ring. Gu Yuena destroys his attack and frees Xiao Wu from his oppressive soul power 9.

The encounter changes Xiao Wu’s attitude toward training. Grateful for her rescue but conscious that her protectors might not always be present, she becomes determined to develop her own strength. She endures the painful opening of her meridians and begins practicing the Jade Rabbit Art 13 15.

Nuoding Academy Wager

After six months of training, Xiao Wu faces Tang San before Nuoding Academy’s teachers and students. At rank fourteen, she exceeds his rank twelve cultivation and possesses a yellow ring against his white one. His concealed throwing techniques initially injure her, but she activates the Jade Rabbit Art and adapts to his projectiles 18 19.

She catches him in midair with Waist Bow and deliberately throws him face-first into dog feces, seeking to humiliate him and please Yao Xuan. Tang San retaliates by secretly firing a Silent Sleeve Arrow at her abdomen. Yao Xuan intervenes, bursting the weapon’s casing and redirecting the arrow into Tang San’s kidney 20 21.

Director Su declares Xiao Wu the winner when Tang San cannot rise within ten seconds. Yao Xuan heals her bruises and later fulfills his promised reward with a protective pendant and the evolution of her martial soul into the Jade Rabbit 22 32 33.

Travels and Shrek Academy

Xiao Wu leaves Nuoding City with Yao Xuan and Gu Yuena. She accompanies them to Spirit City and Heaven Dou City, including their visits to Spirit Hall’s Worship Hall and Qian Renxue’s residence. Over the following five years, she grows physically and further purifies her soul power through cultivation 33 36 37 38 39.

At Suotuo City’s Rose Hotel, Yao Xuan sends her to confront Dai Mubai over a room dispute. She defeats him with Teleportation, Charm, and Waist Bow, throwing him through the hotel doors and into the street 42.

After Yao Xuan takes over Shrek Academy, he makes Xiao Wu the opponent in its entrance examination. She overwhelms Tang San again, while Yao Xuan prevents his Dragon Whisker Needles from reaching her. Against Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, she follows Yao Xuan’s instruction to hold back, allowing them to last for one incense stick and pass 44 45.

Tang Hao’s attack exposes her initial vulnerability and makes her more serious about self-reliance. During her meridian cleansing, she resolves to endure pain for her parents and her own future rather than depend entirely on protection 15.

In combat, she is outspoken, competitive, and willing to humiliate opponents she dislikes. She deliberately chooses Tang San’s degrading landing spot and repeatedly taunts him, while seeking Yao Xuan’s approval. She also reacts angrily to Ma Hongjun’s harassment of a village girl and urges Yao Xuan to punish him 20 21 43.

Her aggression is selective. During Shrek’s entrance test, she praises Zhu Zhuqing’s speed, restrains her attacks, and discreetly signals that she is allowing the examination to continue 45.
