"That damned redscale! Always looking down his snout at other dragons! He doesn't even think anything of the great Jade Star's successor! So arrogant and stupid!"
The female black dragon hatchling spoke again, looking rather annoyed and angry.
"That fellow has nothing but muscle in his head. He knows nothing about respect or unity! Just because he's a year older and stronger than us, he looks down on every dragon!
You're the only one, Xiluo... he'll actually give a proper glance. If I could get your support, perhaps even someone like Gordon might change."
The little green dragon hatchling Alicia looked glum, sighing as she occasionally glanced at Xiluo.
In response.
Xiluo also glanced at the little green dragon.
You two filthy bitches! he cursed inwardly.
Just what you'd expect of green dragons and black dragons, the most scheming of the lot, forming cliques and suppressing outsiders all day.
You actually want to make me your underling and have me help deal with that Red Dragon Whelp? You, a greenscale and a blackscale, think you're worthy?
Xiluo thought with some disdain.
Aloud, he said softly, "I don't carry that much weight! If you want to bring Gordon to heel, there's no way except beating him one-on-one."
While the three hatchlings conversed quietly.
The battle in the center had already reached a fever pitch.
The blue dragon hatchling Abel was covered in wounds, his strength almost completely exhausted.
Mustering his remaining strength, he raised his head and opened his mouth, countless tiny currents flickering within. After taking a deep breath, he suddenly opened his jaws toward the green dragon hatchling Koraman, intending to finish his opponent with one final Breath Weapon.
But Koraman seemed to have been prepared. The instant his opponent opened his mouth, a green vine had already wound around Abel's hind leg, then yanked hard!
Abel lost his balance and staggered, nearly falling. Before he could steady himself.
Koraman had already pounced, tackling him to the ground and viciously slamming a claw onto his forehead!
Abel reeled in pain, his head swimming as the lightning in his mouth crackled up into the sky, then burst into a beautiful shower of blue electrical arcs.
Thud, thud, thud, thud...
Then Koraman unleashed blow after relentless blow on Abel's head, until his opponent passed out completely!
"He won! Koraman won! I knew we green dragons would win!"
"Hahahaha! Stupid blue dragons! Now you know who the true rulers of the greenwood are, don't you? You're only fit to submit beneath the wings of the great green dragons!"
"Damn Abel! That idiot! He doesn't deserve to be a blue dragon!"
Seeing that the outcome had been decided, the dragon hatchlings.
Either shouted joyfully or cursed in anger.
Although they all served the green dragon matriarch Baili'er, their different colors and personalities still divided them into quite a few factions.
"Roaaar!"
The victorious Koraman threw back his head and roared.
He was immensely pleased with himself! He vented his joy and showed the other dragons around him his gallant bearing and valor!
Out of the corner of his eye, he also stole a glance to one side.
There, an emerald-green figure with fine scales and a slender body stood on the green grass!
Oh! My dear Alicia! A pearl as noble and beautiful as emerald and agate!
Do you see? This is the power of Kolaman Caesar! Come! Look at me with eyes full of admiration and respect...
He looked toward Alicia, and the excitement on his draconic face slowly froze.
Alicia! What are you doing? Why aren't you admiring my gallant bearing? Why are you being so lovey-dovey with that damned bluescale bastard?
Those bluescales! They're nothing but a bunch only fit to groan beneath me! To look up at my mighty power! They have no right to stand beside you!
The little hatchling Koraman burned with jealousy.
His unextinguished desire to fight flared again, almost burning away his reason!
His gaze fixed firmly on Xiluo, and he roared:
"Xiluo! Come settle this with me! Let's see who's the strongest dragon! Roar!"
With that roar, the little hatchling Koraman charged like a cat with its fur on end toward Xiluo, who was still twenty or thirty meters away!
"Hm?"
Xiluo, who had been chatting with Alicia, was rather baffled by the roar, but his gaze still turned cold as he watched Koraman charging toward him.
He drew a deep breath with extreme speed.
Then abruptly opened his mouth and spat!
Crackle!
A flash of azure lightning struck the charging Koraman head-on. Countless electrical arcs crawled over him, following his blood into his split wounds and shocking the little hatchling into a hopping dance as though the ground were scorching his feet!
"Roaaar!"
Xiluo roared again.
This time, he took a full, deep breath. As his chest and belly swelled, blue arcs leaped wildly inside his mouth, making the area for several meters around noticeably brighter!
The other hatchlings around him looked shocked and frightened at the sight.
"Here it comes! Xiluo's Lightning Breath is coming!"
"Wait! Xiluo! What are you trying to do? Have you forgotten Lady Barbara's instructions?"
"Quick! Get farther away! Don't get caught in it! That doesn't feel good!"
The hatchlings cried out in alarm and hurriedly fled in every direction.
Screee...
Accompanied by a series of piercing, irregular shrieks.
A deep-blue ball of lightning condensed from Xiluo's mouth!
At that moment, Koraman, whose head had been muddled by the paralysis, seemed to regain much of his clarity. Another shudder ran through him, sweat began pouring out beneath the scales on his back, and terror appeared on his young draconic face.
He wanted to move, but the paralyzing effect of the lightning had not fully passed, and his body was still somewhat impaired.
Panicking, he hurriedly shouted:
"Wait! Xiluo! I just got carried away by the urge to fight! Actually, I..."
But before he could finish speaking.
Xiluo abruptly spat out the lightning ball in his mouth!
Screech!
The lightning ball cut through the air with a sharp, brief shriek, passing just over ten centimeters to the right of Koraman's head at a speed a hatchling could hardly react to!
Immediately afterward.
Boom! Crackle...
A strange noise sounded behind him.
The hatchlings looked toward the sound.
They saw that on an enormous tree behind Koraman, so thick it would take two people to encircle it with their arms.
A depression roughly five feet in diameter had appeared.
The bark throughout the depression had vanished, and the wood within was charred black, as though carbonized, giving off billowing clouds of thick smoke.
"I'm... I'm saved!"
Koraman's body went limp, and he collapsed onto the ground.
At the sight, the other hatchlings also gulped hard, one after another.
"Isn't that power far too abnormal? Even a Wyrmling's Breath Weapon might not be that powerful."
"What special method does this fellow have for training his dragon breath? If I could reach that level too, I wouldn't fear those greenscale bastards even in the forest."
The hatchlings chattered among themselves, looking profoundly shocked.
We're clearly all hatchlings, so why are you the only one who's so outstanding?
