Xiluo took a little more interest as well. He climbed to the top of the towering tree and gazed into the distance.
Gordon, Allen, and the other dragons were also making their way forward.
The familiar sight of the Gold Dragon fighting the Green Dragons came into view again.
All three Green Dragons, Barbara included, lunged at the Gold Dragon. It was four against one right from the start, and even though the other three dragons were only young adults and the Gold Dragon had a powerful archer supporting him,
he was still beaten until he howled, quickly falling into a disadvantage.
Only a dozen or so minutes passed.
The Gold Dragon could no longer hold out. He turned tail and fled!
This time, the Dragon Mother did not let him escape. Instead, she roared and led the three Green Dragons in pursuit!
"Just as I thought! This Gold Dragon really has angered the Dragon Mother this time!"
"He's dead for sure! Four dragons are going after him! No one can save him!"
"Those fools from the Metal Dragons Clan are just asking for a beating! They're dragons too, yet they're always thinking about helping those lowly races. They don't act the way Dragonkind should at all! How vile and disgusting!!"
The Wyrmlings sneered and cursed.
Their expressions were delighted.
They kept watching the Dragon Mother chase the Gold Dragon until they disappeared completely.
Then they returned to the ground one by one.
Their excitement did not seem to have faded, and they continued discussing it nonstop.
Xiluo and his two companions gathered together.
The Red Dragon Whelp snorted through his nostrils and said with interest,
"The Dragon Mother has finally made up her mind to kill that Gold Dragon. She could have done it the very first time, but she insisted on waiting until now.
"Green Dragons really are a contradictory bunch, always following some incomprehensible rules!"
There was a hint of disdain in the Red Dragon Whelp's voice.
Compared to the other chromatic dragons,
Blue Dragons and Green Dragons belonged to the evil alignment as well.
But they were lawful evil, and so they placed more emphasis on rules and restrictions. They could be considered representatives of those who were not thoroughly evil, with more things holding them back.
Red Dragons, the most representative of the five-colored evil dragons, belonged to the purest chaotic evil alignment. Naturally, the Red Dragon Whelp found this somewhat objectionable.
She was already a prime dragon, with power approaching the legendary level, yet she was so "timid." In the Red Dragon Whelp's eyes, she was rather pathetic.
If the Red Dragon Whelp were in his prime now, he might already have been hurling abuse at the Dragon Mother...
"You can't really put it that way. If it weren't for the Dragon Mother, we might have died out there long ago.
"Isn't it thanks to their personalities that we were able to meet here in Green Forest and live well together?"
Xiluo replied with a smile.
The Little White Dragon nodded repeatedly beside him, indicating that Xiluo was right.
"Tch... Xiluo, you may be powerful, but when it comes down to it, your personality isn't much different from those useless fools!
"The strong have no need to care about the weak. They should trample them mercilessly and plunder everything they have!"
The Red Dragon Whelp spoke again, glancing at the other Wyrmlings in the distance.
Xiluo had no doubt that, if not for Barbara's restrictions, this fellow would absolutely rob the other Wyrmlings of their possessions... Although he alone was certainly no match for a whole group of Wyrmlings, any dragon could tell what the Red Dragon Whelp had in mind.
He was just about to say a few more words.
Suddenly, he heard a thud.
A Lizardfolk not far from them had actually toppled stiffly to the ground!
Looking at the other Lizardfolk, he saw that they too were yawning incessantly, drowsy and on the verge of sleep. Within a few breaths, they began collapsing in swathes.
Xiluo instantly grew alert at the sight.
He looked toward the other Wyrmlings. Some of them were actually showing signs of listlessness too.
"Something's wrong! Enemies!"
He immediately let out a low roar.
Hearing him, all the Wyrmlings forced themselves to stay alert and began looking around.
After only a cursory glance, Xiluo immediately roared,
"There must be a very powerful sedative in this area! Hold your breath! Everyone, climb the trees!"
With that, he immediately leaped onto a tree, preparing to climb up.
But the very next moment,
a whistling sound rang out.
Xiluo's keen ears twitched. He drove all four limbs against the tree, using the recoil to leap aside and drop from midair.
A jet-black arrow was embedded in the tree right where he had just been! Its entire arrowhead had sunk into the trunk!
Xiluo narrowed his eyes and turned toward the direction the arrow had come from.
A man with a scarred face and a crew cut slowly drew an arrow from the quiver on his back, nocked it on his bow, and took aim.
Seeing Xiluo and the other dragons looking at him, the man smiled.
"Little brats! If you don't want to get hurt, you'd better stay right here and behave. Otherwise, don't blame your uncle for being too brutal!"
Behind the archer, several more figures slowly emerged from thin air.
Three Warriors wearing iron armor and carrying swords and shields.
And a white-robed member of the Clerics, carrying a pure-white wooden staff, who seemed to be a Cleric.
There was also a Spellcaster dressed in blue and black, with several gemstone rings on his fingers and a blackwood staff in his hand.
"The plan really didn't go that smoothly. Soul-Loss Incense may be a powerful sedative, but it can only knock out those Lizardfolk. It doesn't do much to Wyrmlings. Looks like we'll have to do it ourselves after all."
An iron-armored Warrior stepped forward and spoke in a muffled voice.
"Wasn't that expected? They are among Domirank Star's top magical creatures, after all. Their resistance to magical drugs is simply beyond comparison with other creatures.
"I never thought the plan would succeed in the first place," the Spellcaster said calmly. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, and he seemed to be in a good mood.
The Clerics said nothing. Their lips merely moved as they gently raised their pure-white wooden staff, and rays of light fell upon two of the iron-armored Warriors.
With his keen hearing, Xiluo could make out some of his murmurs.
"Great Pelor, God of Holy Light, please protect your faithful! Grant them the courage to face anything. [Bless]."
"Great Pelor, God of Holy Light, please protect your faithful! Grant them the strength of a bull. [Bull's Strength]."
"Great Pelor, God of Holy Light, please protect your faithful! Grant them the endurance of a bear. [Bear's Endurance]."
"Intruders? A mere four humans actually dare invade Green Forest? Do you think you can defeat us? Defeat great and noble dragons?"
After seeing the four, the Wyrmlings held their breath, but showed no fear. Instead, they mocked them disdainfully.
"I don't know how you slipped past Green Forest's guards and invaded this place, but unfortunately for you, this will be your burial ground.
"As for those drugged Lizardfolk, they're nothing but a bunch of useless fools. You don't actually think we need to rely on trash like that for protection, do you?"
Koraman spoke with equal disdain.
"Hmm... Three gemstone rings. They look quite finely made, and there are fluctuations of magic coming from them. They all seem to be decent magic items.
"That staff is a blackwood staff. One of those should be worth sixteen gold coins.
"And that sacred wood scepter should cost around twelve. That bow and the armor seem quite valuable too... Very good... Very good... I like you! I'll be accepting these gifts!"
The Red Dragon Whelp murmured, his eyes gleaming.
He was just as short of money as Xiluo!
