Yet Xiluo kept his eyes fixed on these four enemies.
[Human hunter] Level: 7 Status: Good [Human warrior] Level: 7 Status: Good [Human warrior] Level: 8 Status: Good [Human warrior] Level: 7 Status: Good [Human cleric] Level: 7 Status: Good [Human spellcaster] Level: 8 Status: Good
Two level 8s and four level 7s...
This lineup was certainly far from weak.
In some kingdoms, level 7 or 8 professionals were definitely important figures in certain frontier towns.
If they were willing to give up adventuring, they could even become honored guests of nobles or lords and secure extremely well-paid positions.
The warriors among them might even have a chance to become knights.
Combat strength like this was more than enough to deal with a group of wyrmlings barely over seven years old.
But clearly, Xiluo and the Red Dragon Whelp Gordon should not be counted among ordinary seven-year-old wyrmlings.
Both seven-year-old wyrmlings were now level 7!
Although they were only level 7, as dragons, they were far more well-rounded than ordinary human professionals.
Strength, agility, speed, endurance, defense, magical power-they excelled in nearly every area.
Humans could not come close to matching them in this respect.
This was also why dragons had the word "Elite" in parentheses after their levels from birth.
Xiluo believed he should have no trouble defeating an ordinary level 8 spellcaster or human warrior one-on-one.
Even if these people had received buffs from Clerics.
Although the remaining dragons were only level 4 or 5, a dozen or so of them should be enough to deal with the remaining four level 7 humans, however he looked at it!
Had these careless intruders underestimated them a little too much?
Was it because they had obtained ample intelligence?
Did they know very well that Barbara might be lured away today, and that a group of lizardfolk would come to protect them?
A group of nearly a hundred lizardfolk.
Although they were not strong, all between levels 2 and 4, their numbers could not be discounted.
If a fight really broke out, even their dozen or so wyrmlings would have trouble easily dealing with these lizardfolk. If the lizardfolk had suitable weapons and tactics like human soldiers did...
They might even turn the tables and defeat the dozen or so wyrmlings.
That kind of fighting force naturally could not be ignored, so had they prepared a sedative specifically for it?
These people knew far too much about the Green Forest...
They had easily found the wyrmlings in the vast Green Forest, used the sedative at just the right moment, and brought exactly enough combat strength to overpower them.
And who currently knew the Green Forest this well?
At this thought, something suddenly stirred in Xiluo's mind, and he frowned. He had thought of who they were.
Yet he was somewhat unwilling to accept it.
Because if it really was them, that was not good news for him.
The humans before them showed no intention of attacking immediately.
They did not seem to be in a hurry.
But the wyrmlings impatiently launched their attacks at the enemy.
Several wyrmlings roared and charged straight at the humans, while others stayed where they were and prepared spells.
None of the wyrmlings used their breath weapons. That would only make them inhale the airborne sedative faster.
Although they had powerful resistance to potions, they could not ignore it completely!
Abel, the Blue Dragon Wyrmling, took the lead, using Lightning Flash. Electricity coiled around his body as he bounded toward the human hunter, hoping to take him out first.
The human hunter had been ready for this. He relaxed the fingers of his right hand, loosing the arrow he had already readied.
The Blue Dragon Wyrmling twisted aside to dodge, but the arrow was faster, piercing his lower abdomen in an instant!
The Blue Dragon Wyrmling could not help letting out a muffled grunt, a trace of pain appearing on his face.
His charge slowed a little as well.
But he did not stop because of it.
Instead, he continued lunging at the hunter.
Ruthlessness and ferocity flashed in his eyes.
The hunter neither dodged nor ducked. His expression remained calm as he merely took half a step back.
A warrior behind him raised an iron shield and stepped in front of him. The instant the Blue Dragon Wyrmling lunged, he slammed the shield hard into his forehead!
With a clang, Abel screamed and actually went flying backward at an angle, rolling several meters after hitting the ground!
With the enhancement from [Bull's Strength], this human's strength had actually reached the point where he could contend with a wyrmling!
At the sight, several other wyrmlings faltered in their charge, clearly not having expected these humans to be so powerful.
"A bunch of useless fools!"
The Red Dragon Whelp overtook the other dragons from behind, letting out a cold growl.
He lunged at the armored warrior.
The armored warrior repeated his earlier trick.
He raised his shield and struck hard.
The Red Dragon Whelp gave a savage grin. As he lunged, he raised a claw and swung it down fiercely!
Clang!
The sound of a collision rang out again.
This time, it was not the wyrmling who went flying.
Instead, the armored warrior was driven back several steps, nearly falling!
Having landed his blow, the Red Dragon Whelp was about to press the attack.
But another armored warrior, the level 8 one, quickly stepped forward and blocked his attack.
Annoyed by this, the Red Dragon Whelp roared, and a layer of flames erupted all over his body. Like a raging fiend, he viciously attacked the human warrior who dared to stand in his way.
The level 8 warrior retreated again and again, but still managed to parry Gordon's attacks. His occasional counterattacks and taunts only made the Red Dragon Whelp burn with rage.
Seeing this, the hunter frowned slightly and immediately sent an arrow flying at him.
Unlike Abel, however, Gordon already had molten earth protecting his body, along with his own thick scales. Only the arrowhead sank in, to a depth of about an inch.
The Red Dragon Whelp had fought Xiluo before and had kept fighting doggedly despite those injuries. Damage of this degree could not shake him in the slightest, and his combat strength barely diminished.
"This red dragon youngster is actually this strong? What a ferocious monster! But that's good! Those powerful spellcasters should love a wyrmling of such high quality!"
The hunter narrowed his eyes slightly, delighted rather than alarmed.
"I heard there's a blue dragon here who's even stronger than this red dragon?"
The spellcaster spoke softly, his gaze drifting toward Xiluo.
The two had made no particular effort to lower their voices during their exchange, and every dragon heard them perfectly clearly.
This sent them into a furious rage.
The buying and selling of dragons did indeed exist on Domirank Star.
It was a subject most dragons were utterly unwilling to mention, a taboo.
It was a disgrace in the eyes of all dragons!
Especially the chromatic dragons.
As evil dragons, they had always disregarded whether other dragons lived or died, caring only about whether their own lives were comfortable and smooth.
And for that very reason...
Many chromatic dragons had become a shortcut to sudden wealth in the eyes of certain adventurers.
Of course, this applied only to certain hatchlings and wyrmlings.
Although young dragons possessed inherited memory, their personalities had not yet been completely set by it because of their tender age. Even their evil nature could still be changed.
Dragons were far too valuable.
Having a dragon companion or subordinate was an immense help, whether to a powerful adventurer or a great noble house.
If powerful spellcasters had dragon subordinates, they could obtain free dragon blood, dragon scales, and other dragon materials that could be produced, as well as an incomparably powerful fighting force.
That fighting force could help them gain an overwhelming advantage in battles against formidable enemies.
And if a faction had a dragon companion, it might be able to ensure that the entire family and its power endured for ages.
