Arc 7The Fall of the Land of Water

Feng Yao defeated Konoha’s invasion of Kirigakure and seized control of the Land of Water, installing Haruhime as its Daimyo. As Konoha sought allies and investigated Yugito, Tobirama uncovered evidence of Danzo’s crimes and confronted Kumogakure over an alliance.

  • Madara entered the Land of Rain without travel papers, and Feng Yao chose to meet him after Konan alerted Akatsuki to his presence.
  • Konoha and the Daimyo Mansion joined forces against Kirigakure, but Feng Yao’s forces trapped them in the mist and drove them into a disastrous defeat.
  • Obito failed to control Yagura, survived a fatal wound with Izanagi, and escaped with Black Zetsu’s help as Kisame’s forces overwhelmed Danzo’s troops.
  • Feng Yao ended the fighting with Hashirama, then seized the Land of Water’s capital, killed the Daimyo and resisting officials, and installed Haruhime as the new ruler.
  • Feng Yao assigned Yashiro to manage the Land of Water and returned to the Land of Rice Fields, while Danzo and the surviving Konoha forces came home defeated.
  • Konoha sought Kumogakure’s support against Feng Yao, but A demanded help rescuing Yugito, money, and intelligence before considering an alliance.
  • Tobirama learned that most of the Senju had died or disappeared and deduced that Danzo had likely used Senju clansmen as test subjects, while Hiruzen feared Tobirama had uncovered the truth.
  • Tobirama offered Kumogakure a reduced loan on Konoha’s behalf, and A rejected it angrily after Tobirama raised the possibility of Konoha allying with Iwagakure.
Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151Madara: What Are Travel Papers?

After failing to find White Zetsu and Black Zetsu, Madara traveled to the Land of Rain and was astonished by how much Amegakure had developed under Feng Yao. He decided to enter the country and see its changes for himself, but at the border he learned that outsiders needed travel papers.

  • Madara searched across the Shinobi World for White Zetsu and Black Zetsu, then headed toward Amegakure when he found no clues.
  • Madara's clones investigated the busy border area and reported that Amegakure's prosperity had resulted from a year of reforms and development under Feng Yao.
  • Madara recalled Feng Yao's ideas about unifying the Shinobi World and achieving peace, and decided to inspect the Land of Rain in person.
  • A Chunin captain stopped Madara at the border and told him outsiders needed travel papers to enter the Land of Rain.
  • Madara said he had no travel papers and vanished with a Body Flicker Technique, telling the Rain Ninja to report him to their superiors.

Ch. 152An Akatsuki meeting

Konan learned that Madara Uchiha, revived through Impure World Reincarnation, might have infiltrated Amegakure and summoned Akatsuki for an urgent meeting. The members prepared to respond, while Feng Yao’s earlier removal of Madara’s Cursed Seal from Nagato’s Rinnegan meant one of Konan’s fears was unfounded.

  • A Chunin captain sent Xuanjie and his squad to report a suspicious man to Amegakure, and Konan identified the description as Madara Uchiha.
  • Konan activated the Magic Lantern Body Technique after failing to find Feng Yao at his courtyard, and Nagato granted her permission.
  • Feng Yao and Orochimaru discussed the wireless communications project while Akatsuki members sensed Konan’s summons.
  • Konan told the assembled Akatsuki members that Madara Uchiha, revived through Impure World Reincarnation, might have infiltrated Amegakure.
  • Nagato reflected on his hatred of Madara and the truth behind his past, while Konan worried Madara might seek the Rinnegan or have left a contingency in it.
  • Feng Yao had already removed the Cursed Seal Madara placed on Nagato’s Rinnegan.

Ch. 153Konan: I don't feel safe!

Feng Yao’s allies identified Madara Uchiha as a threat in the Land of Rain, and Feng Yao said he would meet him himself. Kisame also reported Konoha’s offer to help restore Yagura and the Daimyo Mansion’s growing influence, prompting Feng Yao to plan a fight with Konoha and the Daimyo.

  • Konan shared intelligence describing Madara Uchiha, and Deva Path Pain confirmed his identity from what Nagato had seen.
  • Konan asked whether to send people to track Madara, but Feng Yao refused and said he would meet him himself.
  • Konan felt safer with Feng Yao handling Madara and decided she wanted to obtain Konoha’s Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags.
  • Kisame reported that Konoha had invited Yagura to join forces against the Uchiha and regain power, and Feng Yao told Yagura to accept as the defeated party.
  • Kisame warned that the Daimyo Mansion was expanding its influence and drawing close to the Land of Fire, and Feng Yao ordered his allies to watch it before killing the Daimyo.

Ch. 154Danzo's Advance

Danzo prepared to lead Root and other Konoha ninja to Kirigakure after Yagura sent a letter seeking their support against Feng Yao. As the force gathered to depart, Obito joined them, while Tobirama’s whereabouts remained unknown.

  • Kakashi delivered Yagura’s letter to Hiruzen and Danzo, who celebrated Yagura’s refusal to surrender the Mizukage position and agreed to move against Kirigakure.
  • Hiruzen ordered Kakashi to gather the Anbu, while Danzo insisted on acting quickly to unite the Five Great Nations against the Uchiha and Amegakure.
  • Obito visited Rin’s grave and vowed to pursue his plan, then considered whether his Three-Tomoe Sharingan could control Yagura and the Three-Tails.
  • Sasuke and Tobirama overheard Obito’s words from behind the cemetery wall, and Tobirama dismissed him as an inherently evil Uchiha.
  • Danzo assembled a large force to depart for Kirigakure, and Hiruzen urged him to secure the alliance; Obito arrived and was told success could help him make amends.
  • Danzo asked Hashirama where Tobirama was, but Hashirama said he did not know.

Ch. 155An ordinary man without chakra dared bare his teeth?

Danzo led more than five hundred ninja to join Zabuza’s Kirigakure force and the Land of Water Daimyo Mansion’s troops for an operation to take Kirigakure. After Oda Nobutora displeased him, Danzo arranged for Oda to be killed and his death reported as an accident.

  • Danzo sent Aburame Torune and Obito to verify the passwords with Zabuza, while Kakashi remained uneasy about the Kirigakure ninja.
  • After the passwords matched, Danzo boarded Zabuza’s tanker and outlined a plan to meet the Daimyo Mansion’s forces at Pingjiang River before entering Kirigakure.
  • Danzo’s force reached Pingjiang River and met Yamada Ban and Oda Nobutora, whose several-hundred-strong troops included samurai.
  • Oda Nobutora took offense at Danzo’s dismissive manner, and Danzo decided that the ordinary man without chakra had given him cause to kill him.
  • That night, news spread that Oda Nobutora had slipped into a swamp and vanished without a trace.

Ch. 156Tobirama: How Is This Playable Without a Nerf?!

Danzo’s forces marched toward Kirigakure and were caught in a mist ambush while Tobirama and Sasuke confronted Feng Yao. Feng Yao escaped their combined attacks by appearing outside the explosions, leaving Tobirama and Sasuke stunned by how difficult he was to defeat.

  • Yamada Ban concealed his suspicions about Danzo killing Oda Nobutora and planned to report the killing after returning to the Daimyo, while Aburame Torune secretly placed a Kikaichū on him.
  • Danzo arranged to attack Kirigakure with Zabuza and demanded the names of its Uchiha, becoming eager when Zabuza listed Uchiha En and Uchiha Fenghuo.
  • The following night, Danzo’s force advanced through the forest, but increasingly thick mist surrounded them and shinobi began disappearing despite the Hyuga ninja reporting no ambush.
  • Tobirama and Sasuke realized Danzo’s force had entered Kirigakure’s trap, but Feng Yao appeared behind them and attacked them first.
  • Tobirama used the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique and Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags while Sasuke unleashed Amaterasu, but Feng Yao appeared outside the blast, making them suspect his apparent target had been a clone.

Ch. 157Obito: Can I Still Make It Back Alive?

Feng Yao broke Tobirama’s Bringer-of-Darkness Technique and fought off Tobirama and Sasuke with his intangibility, leaving them unable to harm him. Elsewhere, Kirigakure attacked Konoha’s forces in the mist, while Danzo’s betrayal and Yagura’s assault left Obito trapped and badly injured.

  • Feng Yao broke free of Tobirama’s Bringer-of-Darkness Technique and deflected Tobirama’s and Sasuke’s attacks with his intangibility.
  • Sasuke and Tobirama regrouped, recognizing that Feng Yao could attack while intangible and had no obvious weakness.
  • Kisame led Kirigakure ninja through the mist as they slaughtered Konoha’s forces, and a Root ninja reported that the Hyuga Clan had joined Kirigakure.
  • Danzo ordered the forces to retreat in separate groups, then arranged for Root ninja to surround and kill Obito.
  • Obito’s attempt to control Yagura with his Three-Tomoe Sharingan failed, and Yagura blasted him with a Tailed Beast Bomb.
  • Yagura created a Water Mirror duplicate and charged Obito alongside the Root ninja, leaving the wounded Obito fearing he would not survive.

Ch. 158Black Zetsu, save me!

Obito was trapped between Root and Kirigakure forces, with Yagura relentlessly attacking him. Black Zetsu intervened just before Yagura could kill him, and Obito ended up underground with Black Zetsu and Tobi.

  • Root and Kirigakure ninja surrounded Obito, and Yagura’s attacks and the encircling forces left him badly wounded.
  • A Root blade pierced Obito’s heart, but he survived by using Izanagi, which left his left eye grayish white.
  • Yagura broke through Root’s resistance and pursued Obito, whose attacks and attempts to flee failed to stop the Mizukage.
  • Obito called out to Black Zetsu for help, and a huge tree blocked Yagura’s fatal strike before enclosing Obito in a wooden fortress.
  • A Tailed Beast Bomb destroyed the fortress, but Obito vanished; Yagura then ordered the Kirigakure ninja to kill the remaining Root forces.
  • Underground, Black Zetsu confronted the wounded Obito alongside Tobi and demanded that he explain himself.

Ch. 159Picking up where they left off

Black Zetsu accepted Obito’s offer to help revive Ōtsutsuki Kaguya and had Tobi carry him away from Feng Yao. Meanwhile, Kakashi and Danzo’s forces were ambushed by Kirigakure, leaving Danzo trapped and vowing revenge.

  • Black Zetsu tested Obito’s resolve, then spared him after Obito argued that reviving Kaguya could fit within the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan.
  • Aloe White Zetsu warned that Feng Yao was nearby, so Black Zetsu ordered Tobi to carry Obito away.
  • Kakashi’s group encountered Zabuza, and the two clashed with their swords as their forces met.
  • Kisame ambushed Danzo’s Root force with a Water Shark Bullet Technique, killing or swallowing several ninja and prompting Torune and Kaede to defend Danzo.
  • Fū helped Danzo retreat from the surrounded Root ninja, and Danzo swore to destroy Kirigakure.

Ch. 160Kakashi vs. Zabuza

Kakashi and Danzo’s forces broke through Kirigakure’s ambush, though Aburame Torune was captured and killed while holding off Kisame. Sasuke went to aid Kakashi, and Tobirama fetched Hashirama to confront Feng Yao as the chapter ended with Sasuke facing the Kirigakure forces.

  • Zabuza used the Hidden Mist and water clones to delay Kakashi while Kirigakure ninja overwhelmed Kakashi’s teammates; Kakashi struck back with Chidori and opened a path for them to escape.
  • Danzo fled under Yamanaka Fū’s protection and left Aburame Torune to hold off Kisame, who trapped Torune in a Water Prison after his men killed the remaining Root ninja.
  • Aburame Torune’s Reverse Summoning failed because Kirigakure had erected a Chakra Barrier, and Kisame’s forces killed him.
  • Feng Yao sensed Black Zetsu while Sasuke and Tobirama noticed Kakashi and Danzo’s group being pursued; Sasuke hurried to help, and Tobirama used Flying Thunder God to bring Hashirama to Feng Yao.
  • Sasuke appeared between Kakashi and Danzo’s fleeing group and Kisame and Zabuza’s forces, while fewer than one in ten of the Land of Water Daimyo Mansion’s ninja and samurai remained.

Ch. 161Tobirama: Once I find Obito, I'll personally...

Feng Yao and Hashirama agreed to a ceasefire after Tobirama and Sasuke joined the battle and the survivors realized the Hyuga Clan ninja had been controlled. Kakashi then asked Feng Yao where Obito was, but Feng Yao seemed not to know what he meant.

  • Feng Yao used Kamui to reach Kisame and Zabuza, and Tobirama brought Hashirama to Danzo's location with Flying Thunder God.
  • Sasuke and Kakashi joined the survivors, and Hashirama told Danzo and Kakashi to withdraw while he and Tobirama searched for Obito's remaining unit.
  • Danzo and Kakashi reported that Hyuga Clan ninja had attacked their forces, and Tobirama concluded that Feng Yao had controlled them.
  • Feng Yao offered to stop fighting in exchange for compensation, but Hashirama refused the demand and threatened to resume the battle.
  • Feng Yao and Hashirama agreed to cease hostilities, and Kakashi asked Feng Yao where Obito was.

Ch. 162Taking control of the Land of Water's capital

Feng Yao ended the confrontation with Hashirama and set out to seize the Land of Water’s capital after learning Obito had been rescued. Jūzō captured the capital and gathered the Daimyo, ministers, and nobles, leaving Feng Yao’s forces in control as they awaited his arrival.

  • Zabuza reported that an unknown Wood Release user had rescued Obito and that Yagura was coming; Feng Yao ordered Sasuke to take Kakashi and the others away.
  • Feng Yao and Hashirama parted on bad terms over Feng Yao’s decision to conquer by force, and Tobirama took Hashirama away with Flying Thunder God.
  • Yagura arrived, and Feng Yao learned that Jūzō had led the assault on the Daimyo Mansion before ordering his group to head for the Capital of Water.
  • Jūzō’s Kirigakure forces quickly took the capital and gathered the Daimyo, ministers, and nobles, killing ministers who resisted.
  • Jūzō waited for Feng Yao while a minister challenged him over the ninja’s actions.

Ch. 163Can't Be Bothered to Explain, You Don't Deserve to Hear It

Feng Yao confronted the Land of Water’s officials and nobles over their conspiracy with the Land of Fire and Konoha, using violence to force their submission. After Guancun and Yamazaki accused the Uchiha of being the invaders, Feng Yao ordered them killed.

  • Jūzō slapped a defiant minister and kept the gathered nobles and officials under control until Feng Yao arrived with Kisame, Zabuza, Yagura, and the others.
  • The officials recognized the Uchiha emblem and Yagura, while the Daimyo and his conspirators realized their plot had been exposed.
  • Feng Yao sat on the Daimyo’s throne and ordered Jūzō to kill the loudest protesters, frightening the rest into kneeling.
  • Feng Yao accused the officials of helping the Land of Fire and Konoha invade, and the gathered nobles blamed the conspirators.
  • Guancun and Yamazaki defended the Daimyo and accused Feng Yao and the Uchiha of invading the Land of Water, so Feng Yao ordered them dragged out and killed.

Ch. 164The Puppet Princess

Feng Yao seized control of the Land of Water by ordering the execution of the Daimyo and officials who opposed him, then appointed the Daimyo’s oldest daughter as his successor. Haruhime accepted the position in fear and introduced herself as fourteen years old.

  • Feng Yao had Guan Chun and Yamazaki seized and killed, then proposed assigning a loyal subordinate to oversee the Daimyo’s state decisions.
  • When the Daimyo and officials denounced Feng Yao, he ordered the protesting officials killed and claimed the Daimyo was an impostor.
  • Feng Yao ordered Kisame to seize the Daimyo, and Kisame dragged him outside to be killed despite his pleas for help from Yagura.
  • The remaining nobles, officials, and consorts knelt and stayed silent as Feng Yao’s men returned.
  • Feng Yao summoned the Daimyo’s children and named the oldest girl, Haruhime, the new Daimyo of the Land of Water.

Ch. 165You are all pillars of the nation!

Feng Yao installed Haruhime as Queen of the Land of Water and ordered the surviving officials and nobles to help restore the country. After they pledged most of their fortunes to the nation, Feng Yao assigned his ninjas to collect the money and keep the capital under control.

  • Feng Yao named Haruhime Queen of the Land of Water, and she and her siblings realized he would spare them.
  • Feng Yao demanded that the officials and nobles choose whether they wanted to live, then ordered them to assist Queen Haruhime in governing.
  • Kishida Heihachi identified himself as minister of grain, promised to support Haruhime, and offered most of his fortune to the nation.
  • The other officials and nobles followed Kishida Heihachi's lead and competed to pledge their wealth, pleasing Feng Yao and the Kirigakure Ninja.
  • Feng Yao sent Yagura to record and collect the donations, ordered Kisame and Jūzō to maintain order, and told Zabuza to watch for secret resistance and kill anyone who defied them.

Ch. 166The arrogant Uchiha

Feng Yao returned to Kirigakure after taking control of the Land of Water’s Daimyo Mansion, and ordered Kirigakure’s leaders to help govern the country. The leaders began choosing administrators while Mei Terumi prepared to reconnect Kirigakure with the capital.

  • Mei Terumi, Genji, and Kirigakure’s leaders worried about the consequences of Feng Yao’s attack on the Daimyo, while Uchiha En, Uchiha Ishi, and Uchiha Yan trusted his strength.
  • Feng Yao appeared in the administration building and announced that the Land of Water’s Daimyo Mansion had been taken.
  • Feng Yao told Genji to select people familiar with administration to help govern the Land of Water, and the elders agreed after Uchiha En supported the order.
  • Feng Yao instructed Mei Terumi to prepare to reestablish contact with the capital and assured her that it would support Kirigakure financially.
  • Genji and the other elders argued over who would take part in administering the country.

Ch. 167The state of the Land of Rice Fields

Feng Yao traveled to the Land of Rice Fields to recruit Uchiha Yashiro to manage the Land of Water. Yashiro agreed to leave the Rice Fields operation in trusted hands, and Feng Yao departed with him.

  • Feng Yao left Genji and two other Kirigakure elders in the Land of Water capital with Kishida Heihachi and Zabuza, then used Kamui to reach the Land of Rice Fields.
  • Feng Yao arrived at Yashiro’s estate, where Uchiha guards recognized him and explained that the clan’s members were scattered across the country and Otogakure.
  • Feng Yao greeted Guren and told Yashiro that he wanted him to manage the Land of Water, explaining the situation there.
  • Yashiro agreed to go and entrusted the Land of Rice Fields to Litu, instructing Jushuǐ to follow Litu’s lead.
  • Feng Yao left with Yashiro, while Guren watched them depart with disappointment.

Ch. 168You insulted my village

Feng Yao consolidated control over the Land of Water while allowing disloyal officials to spread news of his takeover. Back in Konoha, Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi argued over their failed operation, Obito’s missing Sharingan, and the Daimyo’s envoy.

  • Kishida Heihachi warned Yashiro, Genji, and Feng Yao that nobles and officials planned to claim Feng Yao had killed the Daimyo, and Feng Yao told Zabuza to watch them and reward Kishida for his usefulness.
  • Feng Yao left the Land of Water’s capital using Kamui, while Zabuza stayed behind to guard the region.
  • Sasuke returned to Konoha with Danzo, Kakashi, and the surviving troops after their operation against Kirigakure ended in devastating losses.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi asked Danzo to keep Obito’s Sharingan safe, but Danzo admitted he had not recovered them and was unsure whether Obito had died.
  • An Anbu ninja reported that the Daimyo’s envoy was demanding an update, and Danzo offered to teach the envoy humility until Hiruzen ordered him to stop.
  • Danzo rebuked Hiruzen Sarutobi, who shouted that he was the Hokage, and Danzo swept his sleeve in anger.

Ch. 169Lobbying Kumogakure

Mitokado Homura traveled to Kumogakure to seek support against Uchiha Fengyao, while Hiruzen Sarutobi dealt with the Land of Fire Daimyo’s angry envoy over Konoha’s failed mission against Kirigakure. The chapter ended with Fourth Raikage A hearing Homura’s case and considering Konoha’s opposition to Fengyao.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi told the Daimyo’s envoy that Kirigakure had betrayed Konoha, but the envoy blamed Konoha and left to report the failure.
  • Danzo urged Hiruzen Sarutobi to let him deal with the envoy, but Hiruzen rebuked him.
  • Mitokado Homura arrived in Kumogakure with Jiraiya and met Dodai, who escorted them to Fourth Raikage A.
  • A asked Samui about the missing Yugito, then received Mitokado Homura and Jiraiya in his office.
  • Mitokado Homura told A that Feng Yao intended to rule the shinobi world and asked Kumogakure to oppose him.
  • A recognized Feng Yao’s overwhelming power and was surprised that Konoha intended to fight him.

Ch. 170Child of Prophecy

A considered Konoha’s request for an alliance against Uchiha Fengyao while Jiraiya insisted that Naruto was the Child of Prophecy. A doubted whether the shinobi villages could defeat Fengyao and planned to give Konoha an answer the next day.

  • Mitokado Homura mistakenly thought A had accepted Konoha’s alliance request, but A dismissed him and asked Jiraiya about his former claim that Minato was the Child of Prophecy.
  • Jiraiya admitted Minato had not been the prophesied child, then firmly claimed Minato’s son Naruto was the true Child of Prophecy.
  • A challenged Jiraiya by asking whether the Great Toad Sage had foretold Uchiha Fengyao, whom A believed could end wars through his overwhelming power.
  • A sent Mitokado Homura and Jiraiya away and told them he would give Konoha an answer the next day.
  • Dodai urged A to ally with Konoha while demanding concessions, but A worried the combined villages might still lose to Fengyao and noted that Kirigakure had apparently fallen under his control.

Ch. 171Kumogakure was nothing but a bunch of bandits!

Kumogakure agreed to consider Konoha’s alliance proposal only if Konoha helped rescue Yugito and met further demands. After Raikage A gave Konoha five days to respond, Mitokado Homura sent Jiraiya back to report the terms to Hiruzen.

  • Mabui and Samui advised A to demand Konoha’s intelligence about its Wood Release user, while Mabui raised the danger to Yugito.
  • Darui suggested making Konoha help rescue Yugito, and Kumogakure’s leaders decided to use the alliance talks to protect themselves and seek further concessions.
  • Dodai presented Kumogakure’s terms to Mitokado Homura and Jiraiya: Konoha had to help rescue Yugito from Amegakure and provide two billion.
  • A rejected Konoha’s offer of a larger share of the Uchiha’s assets and gave Mitokado Homura five days to answer.
  • Mitokado Homura cursed Kumogakure at the guesthouse, then told Jiraiya to return to Konoha and report the demands to Hiruzen.

Ch. 172Konoha's countermeasures

Jiraiya returned to Konoha with Kumogakure’s demands, prompting Hiruzen and the village leadership to debate how to respond. Shikaku proposed revised terms, and Hiruzen decided to negotiate on that basis.

  • Jiraiya raced back to Konoha and told Hiruzen, Danzo, and Utatane Koharu that Kumogakure demanded a rescue for Yugito, two billion ryo, and shared information.
  • Danzo urged Konoha to reject Kumogakure’s demands, while Hiruzen weighed the risk of Kumogakure aligning with Uchiha Fengyao.
  • Hiruzen summoned Shikaku, who proposed offering Kumogakure a confidential loan and only doing what Konoha could to rescue Yugito.
  • Shikaku advised sharing information about the First and Second, and Hiruzen approved the revised approach after an all-night discussion.

Ch. 173The Senju Clan

Hashirama and Tobirama agreed to investigate Yugito’s situation and rescue her from Amegakure, while Tobirama questioned Hiruzen Sarutobi about the fate of the Senju Clan. Hiruzen explained that the clan’s integrated members had been lost in the wars, and Tobirama ended by asking how Kagami died.

  • Hashirama offered to give Kumogakure more money, but Tobirama dismissed the idea and agreed to help investigate Yugito, whom he believed the Uchiha had controlled.
  • Tobirama said he had left a Flying Thunder God Mark on En and could go to him at any time.
  • Tobirama asked Hiruzen Sarutobi whether Konoha had produced many civilian prodigies after the Senju Clan integrated into the village.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi confessed that many Senju clansmen died during the First Shinobi World War and that nearly all the rest were lost or untraceable after the Second Shinobi World War.
  • Hashirama mourned the Senju who had died, and Tobirama asked Hiruzen Sarutobi how Kagami died.

Ch. 174I should have sent Hiruzen and Danzo as decoys back then...

Hiruzen Sarutobi confessed his failures to Hashirama and Tobirama, while Tobirama deduced that Danzo had continued secret experiments on the Senju Clan and that his students had betrayed him. The chapter ended with Tobirama leaving to confront the situation and Hiruzen fearing his teacher had learned the truth.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi broke down over Kagami's death and his failure to protect the Senju Clan, Konoha, and his comrades, but Hashirama and Tobirama told him not to blame himself.
  • Hiruzen handed Tobirama a sealing scroll and said he would deliver supplies to En before going with Hashirama to Amegakure to try to rescue the wandering herdsman.
  • Hashirama went to keep Tsunade company, while Tobirama considered whether Kagami should have become the Third Hokage and concluded that Kagami had been killed.
  • Tobirama deduced that Danzo had likely used Senju Clan members as test subjects and realized Tsunade may have left Konoha for reasons beyond her hemophobia.
  • Tobirama left using Flying Thunder God, while Hiruzen returned to the Hokage Office, checked for a Flying Thunder God Mark, and worried that Tobirama had uncovered the truth.
  • Hiruzen tried to justify using Impure World Reincarnation by saying he had acted to save Konoha and avenge his clan, then blamed Danzo for secretly capturing the remaining Senju Clan members.

Ch. 175Even lending us two billion would be fine!

Tobirama arrived in Kumogakure to represent Konoha in negotiations over financial aid, and his unexpected appearance as a supposedly dead Hokage alarmed the Raikage's leadership. The talks ended in a heated dispute after A rejected Konoha's offer to lend only a few hundred million ryo.

  • Tobirama used the Flying Thunder God to appear beside Mitokado Homura and learned how Kumogakure had mistreated Konoha's delegation.
  • Tobirama told Mitokado Homura that Hiruzen had agreed to lend Kumogakure a few hundred million ryo, and Homura brought him to meet the Raikage.
  • A, Mabui, Samui, and Dodai recognized Tobirama, who confirmed that he had died and been temporarily revived through a Konoha secret technique.
  • Mitokado Homura presented Konoha's financial offer, but A angrily rejected the reduced loan amount.
  • Tobirama warned that Konoha could seek an agreement with Iwagakure instead, and A accused him of making a threat.
