Obito took Nagato’s Rinnegan and pursued the Tailed Beasts, but Itachi and Tenzo drove him from Takigakure after discovering his weakness to a special toxin. In Konoha, Fū befriended Naruto’s group during the Winter Festival, while Obito and Black Zetsu began a new plan involving Madara and Kabuto.

• Obito defeated Konan and took her Rinnegan after surviving her explosive-tag attack with Izanagi, while Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu, and Hidan escaped the fighting.
• Tsunade told Jiraiya that Konan had died and Madara had taken the Rinnegan, then made Jiraiya her adviser as he offered to help plan against Madara.
• Fū arrived in Konoha, met Yugao, Naruto, Hinata, and Gaara, and learned that Madara’s forces aimed to capture the Tailed Beasts and revive the Ten-Tails.
• Obito attacked Takigakure, but Itachi and Tenzo used a toxin that suppressed his Senjutsu Chakra before forcing him to retreat with Kamui.
• Fū befriended Naruto’s group and joined them for the Winter Festival, where they explored the village, met Haku, and watched fireworks together.

• Jiraiya and Karin found the Uzumaki Clan Shrine and recovered its Shinigami masks and documents, while Tobirama devised ways to undo the Reaper Death Seal.
• Tsunade led Naruto, Hinata, Jiraiya, and Kakashi to the Five Kage Summit, where Hinata defeated A in an arm-wrestling contest and made him apologize to Naruto.
• White Mask appeared before the Kage, announced the Fourth Shinobi World War, and was identified by Tsunade as Obito Uchiha.
• Kakashi and Yugito Nii discussed their past over dinner, while Naruto and Hinata secretly followed them and later stood between A and Kakashi.

Madara and Obito attacked Iwagakure, where the Five Kage, Itachi, Tobirama, Naruto, and Hinata fought them off before the enemy withdrew. The story left Naruto and Hinata traveling with Yugito Nii and Kakashi toward Kumogakure, while Madara and Orochimaru began preparing another use of Impure World Reincarnation.

• Ōnoki brought the allied Kage to Iwagakure, where Madara battered the village defenses and fought the Five Kage as Obito pursued Han and captured Kokuō.
• Itachi joined the battle and struck Madara with the Totsuka Blade, but Madara resisted its sealing power and revealed Hashirama’s face on his chest.
• Tobirama attacked Madara, then Tsunade and the Kage held the battlefield until Minato brought Naruto and Hinata as reinforcements.
• Naruto and Hinata fought Madara alongside Kurama, while the Five Kage defeated the invading forces and Tobirama confronted Obito.
• Madara and Obito withdrew after Iwagakure was defeated, and Hashirama rejected Madara’s invitation to join his path to peace.
• Obito sealed Kokuō into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, while Madara freed Black Zetsu from Kabuto and ordered him to research Impure World Reincarnation.

• Kakashi settled into his old house, cooked for Yugito Nii, and sparred with her, using his Lightning Release: Thunder Beast: Stab to overcome Matatabi’s power.
• Naruto and Hinata joined A and Killer B for a feast, where Kurama and Gyuki ate grilled meat and Kurama revealed that the Demonic Statue had absorbed four tailed beasts.
