Everyone's gazes swept over to him in unison, filled with the burning anticipation of "I want to live."
Yang Yong's heart was already a tangled mess of panic, but he was the only Transcendent among the people in this vehicle; he could not panic, and even less could he show cowardice!
Right!
He abruptly remembered the main soul sealed inside the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner-the Red-Clothed Female Ghost!
Yang Yong flicked his fingertips, precisely touching the small banner embedded in the carriage floor.
Swish!
A scarlet figure abruptly emerged, her long hair obscuring her face and her red dress trailing on the ground, and she was precisely that Red-Clothed Female Ghost!
"Ghost-!"
A shrill scream pierced the carriage.
Everyone's complexions instantly turned as pale as paper, and the looks they gave Yang Yong were filled with terror.
They clearly and distinctly saw that it was Yang Yong who pointed at that small flag, causing this terrifying female ghost to appear!
"He... he can command ghosts!"
This thought just popped up.
A piercing chill crawled up their spines to the crowns of their heads, and everyone's bodies went rigid, not even daring to breathe loudly.
Until Yang Yong's cold gaze swept over.
The pressure within that gaze made everyone instantly fall silent, and the commotion inside the carriage was forcibly suppressed.
"Can you understand my words?"
Yang Yong stared at the Red-Clothed Female Ghost, asking in a deep voice.
Only dead silence responded to him.
Yang Yong's gaze darkened.
He almost forgot that this female ghost's spiritual intelligence had long been erased, and she was now merely a slaughter puppet controlled by the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner.
Figuring this out, he stopped talking nonsense, quickly wrote a note, and tapped his fingertip on the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner again.
The Red-Clothed Female Ghost transformed into a red shadow, wrapping around the note, passing out through the vehicle, and disappearing into the pitch-black night.
After finishing all this, Yang Yong raised his head, running right into everyone's gazes full of inquiry and fear.
He twitched the corner of his mouth, having no intention of explaining.
The secret that the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner could seal Eeries and command Yin Souls was something he would take to his grave and never tell anyone.
As for how these people guessed, that was none of his business.
"Old Zhao, don't stop the car, keep driving forward!"
Yang Yong strode over to Driver Old Zhao's side, his voice lowered to the extreme.
"I've already sent someone to contact the team leader. Right now, the most important thing is to stay alive until the team leader finds us."
Old Zhao trembled all over, nodding hurriedly as he gripped the steering wheel tightly again.
Yang Yong leaned against the car window, casting his gaze toward the ink-thick night outside, his expression looking calm while his heart beat frantically.
Why hadn't tonight's blood moon come out yet?
Was the energy stored in the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner enough to last until tomorrow morning?
One thought after another gnawed at his heart like venomous snakes.
He had already tried his damnedest to drive the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner to absorb free-floating energy, but his damn Energy Anxiety Syndrome still left him sitting on pins and needles.
The carriage was chillingly quiet.
The survivors cowered beneath the dim lighting, using timid glances to secretly eye Yang Yong.
Especially those female survivors, who wished nothing more than to curl up into balls, getting as far away from him-this "demon capable of commanding ghosts"-as possible.
Everyone remembered how that fellow who tried to impose moral blackmail on Yang Yong not long ago had been kicked to death by him.
Crisp and decisive, leaving not a shred of mercy.
In the apocalypse, soft-hearted people had long since become Eery fodder, and those who managed to survive until now were none of them fools.
Time ticked away in torment.
Logically speaking, at the Red-Clothed Female Ghost's speed, she should have long since caught up to Cao Xianming and the others.
Yet until late into the night, that red shadow still hadn't returned.
The bus bumped along in the wilderness, like a solitary boat drifting amid towering waves and stormy seas.
Yang Yong occasionally helped Old Zhao identify directions.
Yet the outside was entirely continuous mounds of earth, and the headlights could illuminate at best a place three meters away; as the vehicle drove on, it completely deviated from its original route.
Without even a compass, looking for a way in this pitch-black ghost place was simply wishful thinking!
Yang Yong could only pray over and over in his heart for that fellow Old Cao to hurry up and give some news!
After waiting, it was already the middle of the night.
Meanwhile, deep in the wilderness.
Three off-road vehicles raced along at full speed. Their engines roared, their wheels kicked up clouds of dust, and they looked as if some terrifying thing were chasing them.
Sitting in the vehicles were Cao Xianming, Wang Ying, Zheng Xiaofeng, and the others.
The moment Yang Yong sent out the Red-Clothed Female Ghost, Cao Xianming, who was sitting in the second off-road vehicle, suddenly went pale.
He rapidly ran through the Data Model. The next second, his face drained of color as he grabbed the vehicle's loudspeaker and shouted,
"An Eerie is charging toward us! Everyone, floor it and get out of here!"
And so, an absurd chase began.
The Red-Clothed Female Ghost floated behind them as the three off-road vehicles raced ahead.
By the time the three vehicles were forced to stop three hours later, they were already more than a hundred kilometers away from Yang Yong's bus.
Zheng Xiaofeng was covered head to toe in thick Stone Armor, while Wang Ying had drawn her long blade, its edge gleaming coldly. A great battle was about to break out.
But the next second, everyone was dumbfounded.
They saw the pale-faced Red-Clothed Female Ghost float in front of the vehicle and hold out a slender finger, a crumpled slip of paper pinched in her hand.
Holy crap?
This Eerie... could understand people?
Everyone's minds were full of questions.
Cao Xianming was the quickest to figure it out. He understood in an instant.
That kid Yang Yong had sent her!
He hurriedly rolled down the window, and a red shadow swept into the vehicle with the slip of paper.
With trembling hands, Cao Xianming opened the note. There was only one line on it: The bus fell behind. What should I do?
It really was Yang Yong!
Cao Xianming sucked in a sharp breath, his heart churning with shock.
In all the time since the apocalypse began, he had never heard of anyone using an Eerie as a messenger!
Just how many secrets was that kid hiding?
Though shocked, Cao Xianming didn't dare waste time. He quickly wrote a few words on the back of the note and tossed it out the window.
The red shadow swept up the note and vanished into the night.
After the ghost left, Cao Xianming didn't order them to turn around. Instead, he pointed ahead and said in a low voice, "Keep going, in the direction the Blood Moon rose!"
Yang Yong was still waiting anxiously in the bus, his mind filled with thoughts of whether he had enough energy.
Just as he was about to lose it, a red shadow suddenly shot out of the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner.
"Holy crap! What the hell!"
Yang Yong jumped in fright and, without thinking, summoned the Little Golden Flood Dragon Scissors. A flash of cold light appeared as he was about to snip at the red shadow.
In the blink of an eye, he suddenly realized what was happening.
The only Eerie released from the One-Yang God-Sealing Banner was the Red-Clothed Female Ghost!
He took a closer look. Sure enough, it was that familiar red shadow, and he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
He'd almost hit an ally!
The Red-Clothed Female Ghost floated over to him and handed him the slip of paper.
Yang Yong took the note. When he saw the words on the back, he was completely baffled: Head in the direction of the Blood Moon.
Head where?
He looked out the window. It was still pitch-black, so dark he couldn't see his hand in front of him. The headlights were swallowed up by the darkness, and he couldn't see even three meters ahead.
Where was the Blood Moon?
The Blood Moon hadn't appeared at all!
If the Blood Moon were hanging in the sky, would he need to scrimp and save energy like this?
Just as he was about to lose his mind, a sudden change occurred!
