"Sis! Sis! That Gladiator called Kyros, the one Father brought to the Corrida Colosseum, has won 999 matches in a row!"
Eight-year-old Viola ran into the Sunflower Flower Field behind the King's Plateau, shouting.
Scarlet had long, silky hair in the same shade of pink as her future daughter Rebecca's.
Her features were delicate, her face lovely, and her figure slender, displaying a princess's nobility and beauty.
Sixteen-year-old Scarlet was very curious about the "criminal" her own age whom her father had brought to the colosseum over a year earlier.
He had originally been thrown into the colosseum for avenging a friend, but he had quickly achieved a hundred consecutive victories at an astonishing pace, earning his freedom.
Yet because of the killings he had committed in the past, he had chosen to remain in the colosseum and keep fighting.
Scarlet thought that once he was willing to leave the colosseum, she would definitely go and meet him.
"Viola! You sneaked off to the colosseum again, didn't you? How many times have I told you? You still won't listen!" Scarlet said, tugging Viola's ear.
"Ow, ow! Gently, Sis! I only went to watch because you pay so much attention to him!" Viola said.
Scarlet said, "So what? I don't let you go because I'm afraid you'll be in danger.
"And even if I do pay attention to him, I'll go find him myself once he comes out. There's no need for a little girl like you to worry about it!"
Viola pulled a face, stuck out her tongue, and ran away.
In June of the year 1496 of the Sea Circle Calendar, the ship carrying the group slowly approached Dressrosa's harbor.
Kakarot stood at the bow with a radiant smile, his arms folded across his chest and his bright eyes fixed on the island drawing ever closer,
and said loudly with excitement, "You could call this the first island of our adventure in the true sense. I wonder what interesting things we'll find!"
Lilith and Vian came over beside him, curiosity sparkling in their eyes.
Lilith nodded slightly, an expectant smile curling her lips. "I really hope we get to see the legendary Tontatta!"
Vian clenched her fists, her face full of anticipation. "Exactly! Just thinking about it is exciting!"
Dressrosa was a Summer Island, with hot weather and summer all year round.
Some of Lilith's group wore shorts and short-sleeved tops, while others wore dresses, with sun hats of all kinds on their heads.
Standing together, they made a beautiful sight, very pleasing to the eye.
The ship docked steadily, and everyone disembarked one after another.
The docks bustled with activity, the dockworkers' forceful chants mingling with the vendors' enthusiastic cries.
Not far away, the Mink Tribe member sent by Shu Laibao became excited the moment he spotted Kakarot and the others.
He ran up to Kakarot and said, "Hello, Mr. Kakarot, Chief Lina! Lord Shu Laibao sent me!" His eyes were filled with respect and faith.
Several years earlier, Lina had obtained the Ideological Program from Kakarot and given it to their fellow Mink Tribe members who had undergone ideological awakening to read and study.
Ever since then, they had felt they had found their direction in life.
"Hello, comrade. Thank you for your efforts! Come aboard with us, and we'll hand the Devil Fruit over to you!" Kakarot said, patting his shoulder.
"Yes!" he answered excitedly.
Afterward, Kakarot handed him the Devil Fruit, having originally intended to share a meal with him.
He declined, however, saying that other comrades were still waiting, so he would go notify the others and return early to complete the mission.
Kakarot and the others expressed their support as well.
Lina looked around, her eyes full of curiosity, and said gently, "There are lots of things here that the Mink Tribe doesn't have. We must take a good look around the shops!"
At that, Vian affectionately linked arms with her and said with a smile, "Yes, yes! Let's have a good look around in a bit!"
They walked along the street, the quaint buildings on either side seeming to tell stories of the passing years.
Lush green vines covered the walls, dotted here and there with little flowers.
Many uniquely designed pieces of jewelry were displayed on the buildings' windowsills and at their entrances.
Emily immediately grew excited and ran over like a cheerful little bird, her eyes fixed on the jewelry and her face full of delight:
"Wow, how beautiful! These jewelry designs are so unusual!"
Iris followed beside her, her gaze gentle as she softly reminded her, "Be careful. Don't damage these delicate pieces."
Although the people on the street were curious about how some of Kakarot's group had animal ears, tails, and the like,
as well as the mantis following them, there were all sorts of strange people in the New World, so they wouldn't cause any commotion.
"It's so hot!" Lilith, Vian, Yingyue, Emily, and the other girls were drenched in sweat, their fair cheeks flushed red from the heat, and they occasionally stuck out their tongues to cool off.
Kakarot teased, "Lilith, look how cute you all are with your tongues sticking out! Just like that little one."
Kakarot pointed at a cute little white dog in the shade beneath the eaves.
"Brother! You're awful, making fun of us! Yingyue, Vian, Emily, let's teach him a lesson!" Lilith protested.
They immediately chased after Kakarot, laughing and playing.
Watching them, Lina said happily, "It's good to be young. So much energy!"
Iris smiled and said, "Lina, you're very young too! Walking together, we're all girls brimming with energy!"
"Auntie, Iris, hurry over! There's a fountain here!" Lilith waved and called back to them.
They stood beside it, feeling the cool spray.
Lina, Iris, and the others came over to the fountain and reached out to gently touch the splashing water, delighted smiles spreading across their faces:
"Wow, this water is so cool. It feels wonderful!"
Yueli stood to one side with a smile of enjoyment on her face.
Just then, the sound of people talking animatedly came from nearby.
"Have you heard? Kyros has already won 999 matches in a row in the colosseum!"
"Yes, yes! That guy is incredible. He's never lost!"
"I can't wait for his thousandth match. The Arena Championship is in three days, with ten Gladiators fighting in a free-for-all. I wonder if he can still win!"
Kakarot's eyes immediately lit up when he heard this.
It's Kyros, the Toy Soldier from over twenty years later in the original story. I'll make things a little harder for Doflamingo in the future. Kakarot gave a mischievous grin.
He turned to his companions with an excited smile. "999 consecutive wins in the colosseum? Sounds interesting. Let's go join the fun!"
Lilith playfully curled her lip and said with complete indifference:
"We can just go to pass the time and see what this undefeated fighter is like. But I bet he isn't as strong as us!"
Lina planted her hands on her hips, excitement sparkling in her eyes, and said eagerly, "Let's go take a look and have some fun. It'd be even better if we got to see experts fighting!"
Vian and Emily clapped excitedly and bounced up and down. "Yes, yes! Let's go to the colosseum now!"
Athena, the Golden Blade Mantis, waved her great blades at the side, curiosity and coldness in her eyes, seemingly full of anticipation for the coming visit to the colosseum.
Hades narrowed his eyes slightly, the faintest hint of a smile curling his lips, seemingly enjoying the atmosphere.
They continued onward, only to be drawn in by a rich, enticing aroma.
It came from a small restaurant, whose sign by the entrance depicted a Dressrosa specialty-Seafood Bake.
The golden crust was covered in fresh, plump shrimp and shellfish meat and sprinkled with distinctive local spices. The mere sight of it was mouthwatering.
Ailik was instantly drawn to it, staring fixedly and swallowing.
Emily also took Vian's hand and said eagerly, "Let's try this! It smells so good. It must be delicious!"
Everyone entered the restaurant and found seats.
Before long, the Seafood Bake was brought to the table. The crust was crisp, the seafood delicious, and the spices just right. Everyone ate and praised it endlessly.
Lina smiled as she ate. "This really tastes wonderful. Dressrosa's food truly has its own distinctive character. It's fantastic."
Kakarot took big bites and said indistinctly, "Mm, delicious!"
Ailik wolfed down his food even more voraciously, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
After the meal, they headed toward the Corrida Colosseum at the end of the street.
Dressrosa's Corrida Colosseum had a magnificent exterior, with ancient, imposing stone walls and a huge, majestic archway. Inside, tiers of spectator stands encircled the arena, and the atmosphere was lively.
Emily jumped up excitedly. "Wow, so this is the colosseum! I can't wait for the tournament in a few days!
"Let's go inside now and see what the matches here are like!"
