Ch. 153A young heart's deep affection

Mu Bai killed two Fire Sparrows while protecting Wu Meng and helping Wu Daojian and Wu Daoyuan survive, then shared the spoils with his companions. The trial ended, and as the group returned to the tribes’ vessels, Wu Daoyi seethed at Wu Meng wearing Mu Bai’s robe while Du Xiang criticized their slow arrival.

Ch. 154Events from Ten Years Ago

Mu Bai’s team won the White Wolf Tribe the trial by presenting three rare high-tier battle weapons, drawing attention from the other tribes and prompting Wu Yuan to claim Mu Bai as a prospective son-in-law. Wu Yuan then revealed that he knew Mu Bai was the survivor of the Haibei Tribe massacre ten years earlier and warned him that he was not yet strong enough to seek revenge.

  • Du Tian and Du Zhong reported four high-tier Soul Soldiers for the Eastern Nether Great Tribe, while Xing Yun and Xing Hui reported three for the Star Great Tribe.
  • Mu Bai announced that Yu Yi’s team had acquired a Crystal Shield, a Black Spear, and a Spirit-Gathering Pearl, giving the White Wolf Tribe the best result.

He entered the island’s inner abode, where he found the tribes’ Xiu Zun and elders trapped in a deadly formation instead of finding treasures.

  • Mu Bai broke Wu Daoyi’s transformation and endured Xing Yun’s Soul Arrows before using a Giant Strength Pill to strengthen his body and drive Wu Daoyi back.

Just as the sword rain vanished, a mysterious white-robed woman attacked Xing Mu, and Mu Bai seemed to take the strike in his place, though he remained unharmed.

  • Mu Bai entered Xing Mu's defensive formation, where Du Xiang tried to throw him back out and Wu Tai intervened as the men argued over how to escape the Sword Formation.

He recovered while cultivating at sea, then set out to return to the cave abode and seek the Moon Sea Pearl.

  • Xing Yun grew curious about Mu Bai, while Wu Meng mourned his departure, and an Eastern Nether elder discovered that Du Zhong had survived.
  • Mu Bai flew north to evade pursuit, and the Artifact Spirit Ancestor explained the World Tree’s origins and the cultivation realms beyond the Dao Zun Realm.
  • Mu Bai planted the World Tree sapling in his Divine Sea and learned that the breath soil could supply earth-attribute essence qi.
  • Du Xiang left to pursue Mu Bai, while Wu Tai and Xing Mu led their tribes away from the cave abode; Wu Meng felt relief at Wu Daoyi’s death but grieved Mu Bai’s departure.
  • After meditating at sea for more than ten days and recovering, Mu Bai traveled toward the cave abode to find the Moon Sea Pearl, still unable to descend far into the Dao Sea.

  • In the illusion, Mu Bai traveled toward the capital for the examinations but was detained by a government official and Erlang Mountain’s bandits, who made him teach their children.
  • Mu Bai remained faithful to Ruohua despite the advances of a young widow, who was later beheaded after Chief Ge caught her with another bandit.
  • Mu Bai spent two years trapped on Erlang Mountain, and heaven finally gave him a chance to leave.

  • Third Chen held a feast for the baby and the other villagers urged Mu Bai to deliver their future children as well.

Ch. 163A Thousand-Year-Old Village

Mu Bai tried to escape the village but learned from Madam Seven Emotions that he and Ye Wan had been taken more than a thousand years into the past, where they were expected to live. As Ye Wan put him to work planting rice seedlings, Chen Laosan arrived with reports of a strange disappearance and an ox bitten by a snake.

  • Mu Bai failed to escape the village and learned from the Artifact Spirit Ancestor that Madam Seven Emotions was powerful and that he should wait for a chance to leave.

  • Mu Bai spoke carelessly to Madam Seven Emotions, whose mood stirred distant thunder, and fled before her clothes could change color.
  • Mu Bai stayed on a field ridge until midnight and asked the Artifact Spirit Ancestor whether they had traveled more than a thousand years into the past.

  • Chen Laosan drove his harpoon through the Giant Sea Squid's wounded backside, routing it, while the Sea King promised him two taels of Sea Ridge Soul Milk.
  • The Sea King halted the attack on the remaining Dragon King Whales to avoid provoking them into self-destruction, but the Artifact Spirit Ancestor took Mu Bai to fight one anyway.
  • The Artifact Spirit Ancestor enlarged the Three-Legged Crow Cauldron inside a Dragon King Whale's blowhole, suffocating it while the Sea King kept the other whales away.
