Ch. 21Lorn's Resentment!

Ye Yang killed a Celestial Dragon with a massive fire attack, leaving Vice Admiral Lorn to face the World Government’s punishment. He defeated Lorn but spared him, hoping Lorn’s resentment would keep generating Negative Points.

  • Lorn tried to order the Marines to retreat, but Ye Yang launched four enormous fire dragons at them.
  • The fire attack carved a huge crater into the ground, and Lorn concluded that the Celestial Dragon had died.
  • Lorn blamed Ye Yang for ruining his life, and the Forbidden Magic Book awarded Ye Yang 1,000 Negative Points.
  • Lorn charged Ye Yang with a Tachi, but Ye Yang’s wooden dragon swept him through several houses and left him unconscious.
  • Ye Yang spared Lorn to harvest his resentment, dispelled the Wood Dragon Technique, and left.

Ch. 22The second character!

Ye Yang used all three units of rule power to unlock and summon Ulquiorra Cifer, gaining a new ally for the Dark Forbidden Legion. He chose to extract Ulquiorra’s High-Speed Regeneration skill and left the other abilities unselected.

  • Ye Yang went to the deserted harbor in Area One to wait for the Admirals and use his rule power to unlock a character.
  • The Forbidden Magic Book used all three units of rule power and unlocked Ulquiorra Cifer.
  • Ye Yang chose to summon Ulquiorra rather than merge with his power, and Ulquiorra arrived and pledged himself to Ye Yang.
  • The Forbidden Magic Book explained that the forbidden mark on Ulquiorra’s head identified him as a summoned character and could let Ye Yang possess his body.
  • Ye Yang reviewed the skills available to extract and chose High-Speed Regeneration.

Ch. 23Ulquiorra!

Ye Yang gained Ulquiorra’s High-Speed Regeneration and appointed him the Fourth Forbidden Blade of the Dark Forbidden Legion and his guard. As Ye Yang considered how to strengthen Ulquiorra and reach the New World, Akainu received Sengoku’s order to send Kizaru ahead to Sabaody to stop the criminal who had killed a Celestial Dragon.

  • Ye Yang inherited High-Speed Regeneration and tested it by cutting his wrist, which healed immediately.
  • Ye Yang appointed Ulquiorra the Fourth Forbidden Blade of the Dark Forbidden Legion and his guard, then told him he no longer needed to kneel.
  • Ye Yang checked Ulquiorra’s status and learned that three stars allowed first-stage Resurrección, while five stars were required for the second stage.
  • Ye Yang asked about the Negative Points needed to upgrade Ulquiorra and decided he needed to reach the New World to earn more.
  • Sengoku called Akainu and ordered him to send Borsalino ahead to Sabaody because the criminal who killed a Celestial Dragon must not escape.
  • Kizaru complained about the assignment and vanished in a flash of light.

Ch. 24Ulquiorra Makes His Move!

Ye Yang waited at the harbor for the Marines, and Admiral Kizaru arrived and attacked him for killing a Celestial Dragon. Ulquiorra blocked Kizaru, then unleashed a devastating Cero and Spiritual Pressure, leaving Kizaru shocked and recognizing what he thought was Conqueror's Haki.

  • Ye Yang complained about the Marines’ delay, and Kizaru appeared and confirmed that Ye Yang was the criminal who killed a Celestial Dragon.
  • Kizaru attacked Ye Yang with a Light-Speed Kick, but Ulquiorra appeared and blocked the strike with his Zanpakuto.
  • Ye Yang ordered Ulquiorra to take care of Kizaru, and Ulquiorra fired a Cero that blasted a huge crater into the harbor.
  • Kizaru reformed at the crater’s edge and took Ulquiorra seriously after nearly being caught in the attack.
  • Ulquiorra released his Spiritual Pressure, and Kizaru mistook it for Conqueror's Haki.

Ch. 25Cero!

Ulquiorra fought Kizaru, whose Logia abilities made him immune to Ulquiorra’s Cero. Ye Yang sensed three Navy warships approaching, including another Admiral, and realized the Navy had sent two Admirals to capture him.

  • Kizaru questioned Ulquiorra about the Dark Forbidden Legion, and Ye Yang clarified that they were not pirates.
  • Kizaru formed Ama no Murakumo and attacked Ulquiorra, who dodged his laser and fired a Cero through Kizaru’s chest.
  • Kizaru’s body dispersed into light and reformed, and Ye Yang explained that Logia users required Armament Haki to be hit.
  • Kizaru judged Ulquiorra to be Admiral-level and feared he could not handle both Ulquiorra and Ye Yang alone.
  • Ye Yang sensed three approaching Navy warships and another presence comparable to Kizaru’s, identifying a second Admiral among them.

Ch. 26Enclose, Black-Winged Demon!

Akainu joined Kizaru to confront Ye Yang and Ulquiorra, but Ulquiorra’s Cero Oscuras blasted away half of Kizaru’s body. Ye Yang then ordered Ulquiorra to reveal his true power, and Ulquiorra began releasing it by drawing his Zanpakutō and saying, “Enclose, Black-Winged Demon.”

  • Akainu arrived with several hundred Marines, and Kizaru identified Ye Yang and Ulquiorra as Admiral-level members of the Dark Forbidden Legion.
  • Akainu attacked Ye Yang with Great Eruption, but Ulquiorra blocked the magma fist with Cero.

  • Akainu vowed not to let Ye Yang and Ulquiorra escape, while the Marines watched in terror and Kizaru rebuilt his body from light.
  • Ye Yang challenged Akainu’s confidence and told Ulquiorra to show his true power; Ulquiorra drew his Zanpakutō and began his release.

Ch. 27Kizaru's plan!

Ulquiorra transformed into his Black-Winged Demon form, and Kizaru and Akainu reconsidered their chances against him and Ye Yang. Kizaru drew Ulquiorra into an aerial fight so Akainu could capture Ye Yang, but Ye Yang secretly altered Ulquiorra’s behavior, sending him after Kizaru instead.

  • Ulquiorra invoked Black-Winged Demon and transformed as dark green rain briefly fell, alarming Kizaru and Akainu.
  • Ye Yang taunted the Admirals, earning 5,000 Negative Points from Akainu and 2,000 from Kizaru.

Ch. 28The guard and the king!

Ulquiorra outmaneuvered and badly wounded Kizaru, who learned that Ulquiorra had been buying time for Akainu to arrive. Ulquiorra then revealed that Ye Yang was the king of the Dark Forbidden Legion and that he was only Ye Yang’s guard.

  • Kizaru unleashed Yasakani no Magatama at Ulquiorra, but Ulquiorra vanished and reappeared to strike him with the Moonlight Sword.
  • Ulquiorra’s attack blasted Kizaru into the ground and left him badly wounded.
  • Kizaru asked why Ulquiorra had not used Armament Haki earlier, and Ulquiorra claimed he had spared Kizaru to keep Akainu from retreating.

  • Susanoo repeatedly slashed Akainu into liquid magma, and Akainu realized Ye Yang was deliberately toying with him.

Ch. 30The kindhearted Ye Yang!

  • Ye Yang mocked Akainu and offered the Marines a choice between dying and surrendering, and all of them laid down their weapons.
  • Akainu emerged from the magma and attacked the surrendering Marines, but Ye Yang blocked his strike with Susanoo.
  • Akainu unleashed Meteor Volcano, and Ye Yang protected himself and the Marines with a Wooden Ingot Wall.
  • The Marines survived unharmed and condemned Akainu for trying to kill them, with several declaring that they would quit the Marines.
  • Ye Yang urged the Marines to tell their fellow Marines what had happened and reveal the Marines’ true face.

Ch. 31Setting the stage!

Ye Yang let hundreds of Marines leave Sabaody to spread word of Akainu’s actions and stir resentment against the Marines. As Ulquiorra unleashed his full power on Kizaru, Ye Yang prepared to finish his fight with Akainu.

  • Ye Yang allowed the Marines to board three warships and leave, while Akainu could only watch.
  • Kizaru tried to catch the departing Marines, but Ulquiorra kicked him out of his path.
  • Ulquiorra declared that he would use his full power, seized Kizaru, and dragged him through the terrain before striking him with Cero Oscuras.
  • Ye Yang revealed that he had saved the Marines mainly to gain Negative Points from the resentment of Marine leaders.
  • Ye Yang pointed Susanoo’s four blades at Akainu and announced that he would end their battle.

Ch. 32Yasaka no Magatama!

  • Akainu charged past Susanoo and unleashed a series of magma attacks against Ye Yang.
  • Ye Yang revealed that Akainu’s bombardment had only slightly cracked Susanoo and prepared to counterattack.
  • Susanoo formed five blue Yasaka no Magatama and hurled them at Akainu.
  • Akainu became unable to move after recognizing Ye Yang’s eyes as the cause, and the magatama struck him in a massive explosion.
  • The blast shook the Sabaody Archipelago, and Akainu crashed into the ground, where Ye Yang noted that he had survived.

Ch. 33An unexpected feature!

Ye Yang spared the defeated Akainu and Kizaru, then learned that Ulquiorra could remember and learn powers after Ye Yang controlled his body. After Sengoku called Akainu’s Den Den Mushi, Ye Yang demanded ten Devil Fruits and one billion Beli in exchange for releasing the two Admirals.

  • Ye Yang ordered Ulquiorra to spare the unconscious Akainu and Kizaru and return to him.
  • Ulquiorra said he had felt Ye Yang use Armament Haki and believed he could learn it quickly; Ye Yang realized possessing a body could help its owner learn this world’s powers.
  • Ulquiorra retrieved Akainu’s ringing Den Den Mushi and handed it to Ye Yang.
  • Ye Yang answered Sengoku’s call, confirmed Akainu and Borsalino were alive for now, and identified himself as the person Sengoku suspected had attacked the Celestial Dragons.
  • Ye Yang demanded ten Devil Fruits and one billion Beli in exchange for releasing Akainu and Borsalino.

Ch. 34Threatening Sengoku!

  • Ye Yang rejected Sengoku’s offer to release Akainu and Kizaru without compensation, then ended the call and earned Negative Points from Sengoku’s anger.
  • Ye Yang ignored Sengoku’s first five calls before answering the sixth and insisting on a sincere offer.
  • Sengoku proposed five Devil Fruits and five hundred million Beli, and Ye Yang treated that price as applying to each Admiral.

  • Sengoku and Garp arrived with six Devil Fruits and a bankbook card to ransom Akainu and Kizaru.
  • Ye Yang checked the ransom and had Akainu and Kizaru returned to Sengoku, who sent Vice Admirals Weasel and Yamakaji to carry them to the warship for treatment.
  • As Ye Yang turned to leave, Sengoku transformed into a Golden Great Buddha and attacked him with a shock wave.
  • A dark green ray intercepted Sengoku’s attack, and Ye Yang accused the Marines of breaking their word.

  • Ye Yang used Tengai Shinsei, and a meteor hundreds of meters across appeared through the clouds above them.

Ch. 37I'll do you this favor!

Ye Yang refused Sengoku’s demand to withdraw the meteorite threatening Sabaody Archipelago, leaving the Navy to stop it themselves. Garp asked Ye Yang not to attack while they tried, and Ye Yang agreed.

  • Sengoku, Garp, and Dauber realized the falling meteorite could destroy Sabaody Archipelago and kill its civilians.
  • Sengoku asked Ye Yang to take the meteorite back in exchange for being allowed to leave, but Ye Yang refused and threatened to fight.
  • Garp stopped Sengoku from charging at Ye Yang, and Sengoku regained his composure.
  • Sengoku and Garp decided they would have to stop the meteorite themselves, though Sengoku feared Ye Yang might attack them.
  • Garp asked Ye Yang not to attack while they dealt with the meteorite, and Ye Yang agreed to do him the favor.

Ch. 38Cast a Long Line to Catch a Big Fish!

Ye Yang left Sengoku and Garp alive after promising to depart, while they struggled to stop the meteor he had created. At the Sabaody Archipelago, Ye Yang explained to Ulquiorra that he wanted his enemies alive to gain more from them, and Ulquiorra began to understand his strategy.

  • Ye Yang kept his promise and left Sengoku, Garp, and Vice Admiral Doberman, while Sengoku suspected he might still be nearby.
  • Sengoku ordered Garp and Doberman to help him stop the approaching meteor and destroy it if possible.
  • Garp slowed the meteor with his strength while Sengoku and Doberman attacked it with their techniques.
  • At the port in Area 17, Ulquiorra asked Ye Yang why he had spared the Navy officers, and Ye Yang said he wanted to keep them alive to gain more from them.
  • Ulquiorra killed a Sea King that tried to swallow them, and after other Sea Kings devoured its corpse, he said he thought he understood Ye Yang's strategy.

Ch. 39A Surprise for Sengoku!

Sengoku, Garp, and three Vice Admirals fought to stop a meteorite from hitting Sabaody Archipelago, but Ye Yang summoned a second one that overwhelmed Garp. Ye Yang listened to the resulting Negative Points as he and Ulquiorra continued toward Fish-Man Island beneath the sea.

  • Sengoku and Garp continued attacking the first meteorite, and two Vice Admirals arrived to help destroy it.
  • A second meteorite appeared and crashed into the first, injuring Garp and leaving him unable to slow their combined descent alone.
  • Sengoku joined Garp in supporting both meteorites while ordering the three Vice Admirals to attack them with everything they had.
  • Deep beneath the sea, Ye Yang heard the Forbidden Magic Book award him Negative Points and remarked that his surprise had angered Sengoku and Garp.
  • Ye Yang and Ulquiorra traveled toward Fish-Man Island, using Susanoo and a spiritual-power sphere to protect themselves from the deep-sea currents.
