November 7, 2018.
The rain poured and poured.
Torrential rain blanketed most of Kyoto. Heavy black clouds cast a gloom over everything below, and an oppressive atmosphere filled the air.
For ordinary people, the upheaval in Tokyo had been frightening enough. Now the entire country's economy had suffered an enormous impact, leaving everyone fearing for their own safety.
The same was true of Jujutsu Society.
But it was not because of rampaging cursed spirits, nor because of some enormous conspiracy.
It was simply because of a certain person who might come.
The rain continued to hammer down. The relentless clamor of its impacts beat against everyone's hearts.
Tap, tap, tap...
Gakuganji watched the figure slowly approaching from a short distance away, his gaze holding a trace of complicated feelings and profound shock.
He actually came.
So the higher-ups hadn't been fearmongering.
Had it been Satoru Gojo, I could have understood, but this young man who appeared out of nowhere...
"Old man, step aside."
Yue Liusi spoke softly, holding a black umbrella.
"I promised Shoko I'd only execute the ringleaders."
Shoko Ieiri did not want him to shoulder too much. Leaving the rest to their companions would be enough.
Gakuganji looked at Yue Liusi's indifferent expression and sighed softly. In the end, he stepped aside and cleared the way.
Standing here would accomplish nothing anyway.
Yue Liusi walked slowly down the deserted street. Jujutsu Headquarters was situated somewhere well concealed-from ordinary people, of course.
He could already sense the presences of a double-digit number of jujutsu sorcerers. Almost no one from the Three Great Families was absent.
Satoru Gojo had always been the only one whose existence truly transcended Jujutsu Society.
And he, too, belonged to the Gojo Clan. In a sense, he was one of their own.
Now, they would not permit another to appear.
Especially someone outside the establishment.
"Yue."
A familiar voice reached his ears. Yuki Tsukumo sat casually atop a wall, her hands braced at her sides.
She looked at Yue Liusi, the corners of her mouth lifting.
"You're really about to do something earth-shattering."
"But I like it."
Everything that needed saying had already been said. Since Yue Liusi had made his decision, it was time to let him do it.
Naturally, she was on Yue Liusi's side.
"For some reason, that old geezer Tengen seems to really trust you. How strange..."
"If your personality weren't impossible to fake, I'd suspect you were some old monster Tengen knew, resurrected through incarnation."
Yue Liusi said nothing, merely nodding in acknowledgment.
Watching Yue Liusi continue forward, Yuki Tsukumo leaned down slightly and raised a hand to blow him a kiss, saying with a soft laugh,
"I'll be waiting for you~"
Meanwhile, elsewhere, Nanami was watching from a distance with the three youngsters.
Choso had stayed in the Tombs of the Star Corridor, with a cursed tool bearing Yue Liusi's Flying Thunder God Mark, so there was no need to worry.
As for those from Tokyo Jujutsu High, some were under house arrest and others under surveillance. Those left knew their strength was insufficient and only watched from afar.
"Are we really not going to help?"
Itadori asked, somewhat puzzled.
This clearly concerned all of them, yet Yue Liusi alone had to face it and resolve it.
"If it were just the higher-ups, that wouldn't be much of a problem. But all those jujutsu sorcerers, cursed tools, and everything..."
Megumi Fushiguro spoke with a slight frown, a hint of worry in his voice.
Enough ants could bite an elephant to death.
Besides, the gap between Yue Liusi and them was not that vast.
"You'd most likely only hold him back if you went. Besides, Jujutsu Society will still need you afterward. It isn't appropriate for you to get involved now."
Nanami explained. Seeing that Itadori still wanted to say something, he cut him off.
"This is Yue Liusi's plan."
Hearing that, Itadori could only let the matter drop.
Beside them, Nobara Kugisaki suddenly recalled Yue Liusi asking her about certain things while their group had been out shopping yesterday.
It had seemed as though he cared more about that matter than the one before them.
"Don't worry. He'll win."
Nobara Kugisaki spoke softly.
Perhaps what was a major matter to them meant nothing at all to Yue Liusi.
The downpour intensified, drumming against the umbrella. Countless raindrops poured down as though the sky were collapsing, blurring everything in sight.
Scarlet quietly surfaced in Yue Liusi's eyes.
It was at that moment that someone finally lost patience.
A black chain suddenly shot out of the shadows, its sharp tip aimed straight at Yue Liusi's throat!
Under his attacker's horrified gaze, Yue Liusi caught the swiftly approaching chain and gave it a violent yank!
Those reflexes-how was that possible?!
Before he could finish the thought, he had already been dragged in front of Yue Liusi, and a chakra-cloaked fist came whistling toward him.
Bam!
Yue Liusi looked at his half-dead enemy and casually dropped his umbrella. The next second, Lava Release Chakra Mode instantly enveloped his entire body.
All around him, the rain vaporized before it could fall, leaving a ring of billowing white mist around Yue Liusi.
The Ame-no-Murakumo Sword appeared in his hand. Terrifyingly intense heat gathered along its blade, as though it could melt through anything.
In the distance, Yuki Tsukumo watched the battle with interest.
Just then, a violent explosion suddenly rang out. Beneath the darkened sky, the raging flames stood out vividly.
Watching the hemispherical ball of lava expand, Yuki Tsukumo raised her eyebrows, somewhat surprised.
"Is that the cursed technique from Shibuya back then... He's playing his trump card already?"
Although she had arrived late back then, she had still heard about Yue Liusi's devastating cursed technique from the others.
She simply had not expected Yue Liusi to use it so soon.
Then next...
Boom!
Another explosion rang out, and it was not over yet!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Watching the four scattered balls of lava spin and expand at high speed, Yuki Tsukumo's eyes widened.
"Could this actually be an ordinary cursed technique?"
That red-and-white figure continued forward. Even as the sorcerers of the Three Great Families attacked one after another, his pace did not change in the slightest.
Unhurried.
Yuki Tsukumo was just about to move a little closer to the battlefield when an extremely thin red line came shooting toward her!
Holy shit! Why was it coming at me?!
Yuki Tsukumo moved instantly, hastily dodging the strike.
Looking at the house silently sliced into two levels, Yuki Tsukumo patted her chest, still shaken.
That scared the life out of me. I nearly got cut in half at the waist.
"He condensed the power of his cursed technique into a single line, then infused it with cursed energy to increase its power while keeping it stable?"
"That precision in cursed energy control must already rival Satoru Gojo's... Could those eyes of his also be a special physical trait like the Six Eyes?"
Meanwhile, things on Yue Liusi's side were already nearing their end.
Seeing that she was about to finish off everyone surrounding her, a support jujutsu sorcerer nearby was drenched in sweat, his expression tense.
"Imagine the possibility of him getting hurt. As long as hypothetical reality succeeds, there's a chance..."
