Eyes as Clear as a College Student's

Looking at the system notification, Sōkyū Hatake broke into a broad grin.

The mighty Pikachu! And he could summon him as a Summoning Beast. That gave him a great way to conceal Pikachu's existence.

After all, he was not like Ash, that human-shaped legendary Pokémon.

Ash had an incredibly powerful body. He could run across the sea and leap between cliffs; he could withstand Pikachu's Thunderbolt and take Charizard's Flamethrower head-on.

He could lift a sixteen-kilogram Fletchinder with one arm, easily pick up a seventy-two-kilogram Larvitar, and even shoulder a six-hundred-and-thirty-kilogram tree trunk.

None of those were things Sōkyū Hatake could do...

"Sōkū!" Just then, the three outside also sensed the suffocating Thunderbolt inside Sōkyū Hatake's room.

They immediately burst through the door and saw Sōkyū Hatake holding Pikachu, his hair standing in an afro.

"He's so cute!!!" The moment Rin Nohara saw Pikachu, her eyes turned into hearts. This Pikachu was simply too adorable!

"Such powerful lightning release chakra." Obito looked around. Traces of the Thunderbolt Pikachu had just used still lingered in the air.

"Sōkū, what is that? Are you all right?" Kakashi watched the Pikachu in Sōkyū Hatake's arms warily. It was his first time seeing this creature, but that did not stop him from sensing a threat from Pikachu!

"I'm fine. Ahem, let me introduce you. This is my Summoning Beast—Pikachu." Sōkyū Hatake coughed twice, and a puff of black smoke escaped his mouth.

"Pikachu? Aren't our family's Summoning Beasts ninja hounds???" Kakashi stared at Sōkyū Hatake in bewilderment. Since when had he even broken with their family's traditions???

"Ahem, I also happened to obtain this Summoning Beast by chance. It's fine, it's fine," Sōkyū Hatake said, waving his hand.

"Pika pika~" By now, Pikachu had also sorted out his thoughts and understood that Sōkyū Hatake was his master, so he naturally played along.

"Um... Sōkū, do you know anywhere else we could summon a Pikachu?" Rin Nohara gazed adoringly at the Pikachu in Sōkyū Hatake's arms.

Sōkyū Hatake frowned slightly. The mighty Pikachu's attack was very powerful. If no one had noticed even now, that would mean Hiruzen Sarutobi was seriously neglecting his duties.

"But... Pikachu suddenly appeared beside me and completed the contract." Sōkyū Hatake hugged Pikachu tightly, acting as though he was preventing Hiruzen Sarutobi from snatching him away.

"Hahaha, that's a good thing, too. With such powerful lightning release chakra, this Summoning Beast is quite a good thing for you." Hiruzen Sarutobi laughed heartily at Sōkyū Hatake's actions.

"Hehe."

"By the way, little Sōkū, I heard you've become Orochimaru's student?" Hiruzen Sarutobi suddenly asked, pretending to mention it casually.

Orochimaru was his student. If Sōkyū Hatake was Orochimaru's student, then Sōkyū Hatake was his grandstudent.

Upon hearing Hiruzen Sarutobi's words, Kakashi and the other two looked at him in astonishment.

Their eyes were filled with the same clarity as a college student's.
