As a Shrek student, Yan Shaozhe attracted numerous admirers. According to her own account, every male participant lit his light for her at a Sea God Fate Matchmaking Conference. She declared that she would marry whoever could defeat her, but no one succeeded. Two rivals who fought over her later became the Martial Soul Department’s vice dean and the Soul Guidance Department’s dean; she rejected both because neither was stronger than her 16.

During her travels, she discovered Ma Xiaotao and brought him to Shrek after recognizing that he possessed the same martial soul as the academy’s ancestral Phoenix God. As his evil fire worsened, she used an Ice Jade Bed and periodically sealed his meridians to slow his cultivation. These restrictions kept him in the Soul King realm but fostered his resentment toward her 22.

Yan Shaozhe maintains a poised, authoritative public manner but becomes boastful and playful around Gu Xingyue. She teases him about romance, proudly recounts her popularity as a student, and takes obvious pleasure in anticipating Mu En’s praise. Gu frequently punctures her self-importance, provoking reactions far less dignified than her usual demeanor 14 16 22.

Her recruitment decisions are strongly influenced by perceived potential. Gu’s Ultimate Lightning immediately takes priority over comforting the defeated Xi Xi. She initially considers Huo Yutong’s talent too limited to warrant substantial investment, but becomes urgently protective of Huo’s place at Shrek after learning of her Ultimate Ice second martial soul 13 15 59.

She is uncompromising about academy loyalty and dangerous misconduct. She threatens to cripple Ma Xiaotao if his uncontrolled evil fire kills someone, and dismisses Fan Yu’s objections after executing Zhou Yi.
