The little incident over by the Velociraptor soon ended without disturbing the herd.
Lin Feng turned to check the Velociraptor's position, then held his breath and pulled the trigger, aiming straight at the nearby herd.
The gunshot immediately startled the herd, sending them scattering in every direction.
Lin Feng soon emptied a magazine.
The haul was pretty good. Two bison fell and never got back up. Several others were hit, but their powerful vitality allowed them to flee with the herd.
The Little Velociraptor hiding in the grass seized its chance, catching an injured bison and biting down. The bison cried out in pain, trying to call the herd back to save it, but the terrified herd paid it no attention and ran off in a flash.
After changing magazines, Lin Feng fired a few more shots, but hit nothing and had to give up.
Three bison would be enough to feed him and the Velociraptor for a while anyway.
It was just that these three bison were truly enormous. Each probably weighed over five hundred kilograms, making it a bit unrealistic to put them in his Leather Backpack.
Each slot in the Leather Backpack had a limit of 200 kilograms, so taking the bison away whole was definitely impossible.
Lin Feng therefore planned to butcher them and pack only the meat.
Before leaving the elevator, Lin Feng had already cleared two slots in his Leather Backpack.
He had piled all his medicine and nonperishable food in a corner of the elevator.
The elevator was spacious now. Even if he took everything out of the Leather Backpack, there would be room for it all.
Soon, Lin Feng gathered the three bison carcasses together.
With swift strokes of his knife, he soon slit open the first bison's belly.
The Little Velociraptor lay beside him, eating the organs and bones Lin Feng tossed out.
Lin Feng did not intend to pack things like the organs. He mainly wanted the meat.
Butchering a bison took quite a bit of time.
Lin Feng checked the time remaining on the floor.
[1:20]
A little over an hour. If that wasn't enough, he could use a Time Extension Card to buy himself more time.
However, while Lin Feng was concentrating on cutting up the beef, shouts suddenly came from the distance.
Lin Feng looked up and saw several black men with paint smeared over their upper bodies running toward him.
However, they had no decent weapons, only melee weapons.
They looked as though they had come with hostile intentions.
Lin Feng immediately raised his gun and opened fire without hesitation.
The system had already said that the Indigenous People on this floor were hostile to all outsiders.
They certainly weren't coming over for a chat.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!
As the shots rang out, several Indigenous People were hit and fell.
The dozen or so remaining Indigenous People immediately dropped flat on the ground when they heard the gunfire.
They shouted in a language Lin Feng could not understand.
At the same time, they threw their weapons away.
"They surrendered just like that?"
Lin Feng scratched his head in confusion.
If he had known what era he was in, he probably would not have been so puzzled.
Looking at the bison carcasses in front of him, Lin Feng suddenly had an idea. Why not have these Indigenous People butcher them for him? They would definitely be faster than he was.
Then Lin Feng fired a few shots into the air and waved at the Indigenous People who had surrendered.
They obediently ran over, their eyes completely devoid of their earlier ferocity.
"Come here and butcher these bison."
As Lin Feng spoke, he pointed at the bison carcasses and the beef he had already cut up beside them.
The meaning was so simple that the Indigenous People immediately understood what to do. They hurriedly moved the two remaining bison aside and cut off all the meat.
Meanwhile, Lin Feng stood nearby, guarding them with his gun.
The work went much faster now.
Lin Feng nodded in satisfaction.
In less than half an hour, all the beef had been cut up.
After stuffing all the beef into his Leather Backpack, Lin Feng also took all the ribs and organs he could carry. He could roast and eat those once he got back. The temperature in the elevator was low, so they would not spoil for three or four days.
Seeing the Indigenous People still following him, Lin Feng was a little baffled. Were they treating him as their master?
What kind of fucking bizarre tribe was this?
Lin Feng was utterly speechless, then waved at the Indigenous People.
"Get lost, all of you! Go back!"
"Raaah!!"
The Little Velociraptor also bared its teeth at the Indigenous People.
Then it followed Lin Feng back into the elevator.
When the Indigenous People standing there saw Lin Feng vanish on the spot, they were so frightened that they instantly dropped to their knees.
After Lin Feng left, a group of lavishly dressed nobles rode over on warhorses, also drawn by the gunshots.
Looking at the row of Indigenous People kneeling on the ground, the officer in the lead laughed. He had not expected such an unexpected haul. With a wave of his hand, several soldiers stepped forward and tied them up.
Inside the elevator.
Lin Feng hung all the ribs at the opening of the Fireplace, planning to roast the meat dry so it would keep better.
Of course, he did not forget the Little Velociraptor's share.
He gave the Little Velociraptor two whole ribs and two bison hearts. That should be about enough for it to eat.
Lin Feng still had to process the remaining meat and organs.
He intended to roast all of it, then store it to eat over time.
Doing all this took Lin Feng the entire afternoon.
"Finally, it's all done."
Lin Feng stretched and lay down on the bed. Just as he was about to sleep, he suddenly remembered the supplies he had listed on the Exchange. He might as well check how much he had earned.
He would list another batch before going to sleep.
After walking over to the screen, Lin Feng opened the Exchange. Quite a few people had bought things, but unfortunately, they had all traded basic materials.
Wood and iron, with very few other supplies.
Lin Feng disabled the option to trade with wood. He had enough wood for now. He still had not used up what he had gathered on the Forest Floor, and these trades had brought in another two hundred kilograms.
As for the other supplies, he had obtained one hundred kilograms of iron, one Gold Coin, and ten kilograms of gold, but no copper or aluminum at all.
Perhaps that was because the things Lin Feng was selling did not include medicine.
If he listed some medicine and specified that it could only be purchased with Gold Coins, someone would probably snap it up.
After listing some more food and water scavenged from other people's elevators, Lin Feng went to bed.
"Oh, right, this ring..."
Lying in bed, Lin Feng took the ring off his finger.
It increased luck?
Yesterday, he had casually said it would be nice if he could reach a floor with lots of animals, and today it had come true.
Although he thought the idea in his head was a little absurd, Lin Feng felt that perhaps nothing was impossible in this world anymore.
Besides, the system's stats panel showed that these two rings did increase luck.
