Wang Ba escaped Long-Armed Arhat Zhifa and investigated the Supreme True Buddha’s forces while searching for information about the Cloud-Heaven Realm and the Ruins of Zhangshi. After rescuing the failing Yunhuo Realm, he learned their locations from Tao Bingji, but Zhifa tracked him down again and resumed the pursuit.

• Long-Armed Arhat Zhifa accused Wang Ba of killing Puyuan and attacked, but Wang Ba escaped with his Divine Patterns and Wind-Driving Staff.
• As he fled, Wang Ba reasoned that the Supreme True Buddha’s forces harvested cultivators and resources to sustain their expanding wars, making them a major obstacle to his plans.
• Wang Ba reached the Yunhuo Realm, destroyed the World Eaters attacking it, and asked its cultivators for information beyond the boundary.
• The Yunhuo cultivators introduced Wang Ba to Tao Bingji, a reincarnated seventh-tier Primordial God or Devil, who showed him a map to the Cloud-Heaven Realm and the nearby Ruins of Zhangshi.

Wang Ba escaped after defeating Zhifa, only to discover that Zhifa had transformed into a demonic being and was summoned back by an unseen voice.

• Wang Ba used the Earth-Cleaving Staff, the Wind-Driving Staff, and the Scabbard Phantom to immobilize and strike Arhat Zhifa, then escaped when Zhifa began transforming into a demonic fiend.
