Astalor and Liadrin left to return to their laboratories, glancing back at Sunfury Spire as they went. The light atop the spire seemed especially dazzling now. Patrick's impassioned speech had roused every elf's fighting spirit.
Astalor still remembered the question His Highness the Regent had asked him: had any elf in Quel'Thalas ever built a floating city before?
The Regent had done it, building the first floating city since the founding of Quel'Thalas. Why couldn't he find a way to do it himself?
"Everyone, where has Salorian been all this time?" Patrick had not seen Salorian Dawnseeker for some time, ever since the fall of Silvermoon City. He was the elves' strongest melee fighter.
"Lord Regent, General Salorian was very despondent during the time the Sunwell was corrupted. He remained on Quel Island, clearing out the remaining undead, until Lord Nochong escorted Anveena, the girl who possesses the Sunwell's power, back to Silvermoon City a few days ago. After learning that she was the Sunwell's incarnation, General Salorian volunteered to guard her."
Patrick greatly valued Salorian's individual abilities. He was the strongest warrior in Quel'Thalas. If he personally trained a force of warriors, Patrick had every confidence in that force's actual fighting strength.
"We cannot take Anveena's protection lightly, but he must shoulder his own responsibilities as well. Quelrintis, how many warrior apprentices do we have in total now?"
"My lord, there are around seven thousand newly recruited warrior apprentices. General Selin Fireheart is currently overseeing their daily training, but they have not yet seen actual combat."
Patrick thought for a moment. "Pass on my orders. Appoint Salorian Dawnseeker as the general of this force, with Selin Fireheart as his deputy, to train them together. Have them lead these recruits in clearing out the remaining undead within the kingdom.
