Although the beast-eared woman made Radeus's heart race, he was a man who would bow for a couple of pecks of rice!

Before long, a message came from Rudeus.

I've rescued Eris. We're riding a farmer's wagon back to town.

Understood!

After receiving the message, Radeus found Ghislaine and Philip and told them the news.

"Understood. I'll assign more men to keep watch in town. Anyone suspicious will be arrested immediately."

"You and Ghislaine should be ready to meet Eris and the others at any time."

Upon receiving the news, Philip immediately issued his orders.

Ghislaine took Radeus onto a high rooftop, where they could overlook everything in town.

If the wagon Rudeus was riding entered town, they would see it immediately.

Before long, they saw a wagon drive in. Presumably, it was the one carrying Rudeus and Eris.

We've reached town and are on a street right now. Are you here yet?

Rudeus and Eris walked along the street, preparing to head toward the mansion.

We've spotted you. We'll be right there.

OK!

"Young lady, we're in town now. Ghislaine and Rad are heading our way too. You can relax now!"

Rudeus spoke to Eris, who was already getting sleepy.

"Looks like it..."

After everything she had experienced and all the running around, Eris was already mentally exhausted. All she wanted now was to return to her room and get a good night's sleep.

Just as the two let their guard down, someone darted out of an alley and snatched Eris from behind Rudeus.

"What?!"

Rudeus was shocked. He hadn't expected them to dare abduct someone by force under such tight security. Did they have a death wish?

Even if they grabbed her, with Ghislaine around, they couldn't possibly get out using Eris as a hostage.

What a bunch of lunatics!

We've got trouble! They grabbed Eris in town and took her into an alley!

Rudeus hurriedly reported the situation to Radeus.

What?

It hadn't even been a minute since Rudeus and Eris entered town, and they had already made their move?

Hadn't that guy Philip said he had tightened security in town?

Radeus had only just finished talking to Rudeus when they brazenly abducted Eris right off the street.

What the hell kind of security was this? The Maginot Line?

Got it. Go after them first. Once I'm a little closer, my Six Eyes will be able to locate you!

Radeus told Rudeus to hurry after them and not lose them.

Understood. I'm already on it!

Even as he relayed the message, Rudeus was already heading in the direction Eris had been taken.

"Ghislaine, carry me and run! Hurry! Eris has been abducted in town!"

Radeus spoke anxiously to Ghislaine.

"All right!"

Without another word, Ghislaine scooped Radeus into her arms and sped over.

Being held in Ghislaine's arms didn't feel very good. She was muscular all over, and Radeus felt as though he was pressed against a wall.

Paul's assessment of Ghislaine had been right!

By then, Rudeus had reached the alley. Two people were ahead of him, one carrying Eris over his shoulder and the other clearing the way.

I found them. There are two of them right now. I'm going to use Earth Magic to stop them.

I can sense you now. I'll reach the fight in about thirty seconds!

While communicating, Rudeus swiftly cast Earth Magic, raising an earthen wall out of the ground in front of the two men to block their path.

"Ghislaine, it looks like there are two of them. No, there might be three!"

Radeus reported to Ghislaine.

"Understood!"

"What's the matter, you little brat? Just leave, and nobody gets hurt!"

The kidnapper holding Eris drew the blade at his waist and pointed it at Rudeus.

"Sword King Ghislaine is on her way right now. Eris and I will be fine, but you're dead!"

Rudeus wasn't intimidated. Neither man's presence felt as strong as Radeus's, which meant they couldn't be above Advanced rank. If he could stall until Ghislaine arrived, they would fall in a single exchange.

He just needed to buy time now!

"If you put Eris down and run now, you can still make it!"

"Tch!"

Hearing that Ghislaine was coming, the two knew they didn't have much time left. But if they simply let go of the prey before them, wouldn't all their trouble have been for nothing?

Money or their lives?

Without the slightest hesitation, they chose to take a gamble!

"Then we'll just kill you! Hey, get on with it!"

The kidnapper spoke to someone behind Rudeus.

There's someone behind you!

Rudeus realized someone had appeared behind him and turned to look.

It was the guard who had poured tea for him and Radeus earlier. To think he was a traitor!

Damn it, three against one. This isn't good!

Are you here yet?

Almost!

The three attacked Rudeus without hesitation. The kidnappers had originally intended to recruit him, but there was no time now.

He might be a promising talent, but he would have to die here!

Rudeus swiftly formed an enormous fireball and shot it into the air as a signal flare. It could also confuse his opponents and make them hesitate.

Think about it: if someone highly accomplished in magic, clearly a seasoned caster, suddenly threw a fireball into the sky, wouldn't you take a look?

What if it was magic with some special effect?

Looking would create a momentary blind spot, but not looking could mean being killed in a single hit!

Sure enough, all three glanced upward. At that very instant, Rudeus fired several Earth Spikes at the two in front of him.

The Earth Spikes weren't meant to attack, but to obscure their vision.

The kidnappers swiftly knocked down every incoming Earth Spike, but the earthen dust around them blocked their sight.

Then Rudeus cast Wind Magic behind himself, sending himself flying toward Eris.

At the same time, Rudeus cast Earth Magic beneath the two men's crotches. Two earthen pillars swiftly rose between their legs, delivering a devastating blow to their family jewels.

As excruciating pain struck, the kidnapper lost his grip and flung Eris away.

"Oh, crap!"

Rudeus caught Eris as he moved, then used Wind Magic to change direction and fly into the air.

"You brat!"

Enduring the intense pain, the kidnapper hurled his blade into the air, where it was about to hit Rudeus.

But Rudeus didn't panic. He merely smiled faintly and tilted his head just before the blade struck, neatly evading the attack.

Throwing one's sword was a North God Style technique. Rudeus had previously lost to Radeus's use of that very move, but...

"The same move won't work twice on a Saint, you bastard!" Rudeus roared.

"Am I late?"

A blue flash streaked past, and Radeus made his dazzling entrance!
