Just as Rudeus finished quoting that famous Saint Seiya line, Ghislaine and Radeus had arrived.
"Throw me down and go catch Rudeus and the others!"
Hearing Radeus's words, Ghislaine threw him down without hesitation, then caught Eris and the others in midair herself.
With both him and Eris held in Ghislaine's arms, Rudeus had exactly the same thought Radeus had had.
So hard. Is this really a woman's embrace?
Holding a wooden sword, Radeus looked at the two men before him and gave a disdainful chuckle, a nasty grin spreading across his face.
"Hey, hey, hey, three against one isn't fair. How about another round, old guys?"
The sight of the brat before them infuriated the two men. Did just anyone dare shit all over them these days?
But a glance at Ghislaine behind him made them back down. Even when beating a dog, you had to consider its owner, didn't you?
"Ghislaine, the one in the back is yours. I'll take these two!"
Radeus spoke to Ghislaine.
"All right!"
Ghislaine nodded. She also wanted to see just how strong the boy Paul had called the next Sword God really was.
"You little brat, you've got some nerve! Your arrogance will get you killed by our blades!"
Instantly enraged by Radeus's arrogant attitude, the two men slashed at him with their blades.
"Hmph! It'll be fine, because you two... are really weak!"
Facing their attacks, Radeus leaped above their heads, and their blades naturally cut through empty air.
"What?!!"
Neither had expected Radeus to be so nimble, and they hurried to slash upward.
But before either could move, the figure in midair had vanished. Then everything went black for both men, and they collapsed.
One of the kidnappers fell to the ground. Before his vision faded, he dimly saw Radeus appear behind where they had been standing, wooden sword in hand, and say to them,
"See? I told you!"
Monster!
That was the only word he could think of to describe the blue-eyed boy before him. Then he lost consciousness.
"Eek!"
The last guard jumped at the sight. Just then, Radeus looked his way too, flashed him a smile, and said,
"Having fun, are we?"
The guard fainted from sheer fear of Radeus, unleashing Chantless Water Magic!
"Ugh! That's disgusting!"
Radeus was disgusted. At his age, he was still copying the youngsters and going Chantless?
"So that's how it is?"
Rudeus looked at the Chantless Water Magic caster before him with the same disgust.
"When the others arrive, have them take him back for Philip to deal with!" Radeus said.
"Are those two dead?"
Rudeus looked at the two kidnappers lying motionless on the ground.
"Of course not! This is a wooden sword, okay? They won't die!"
Radeus waved the wooden sword in his hand as he spoke to Rudeus.
Beside them, Eris had stared wide-eyed at Radeus's cool swordplay!
"Hey, you! Your name's Radeus, right?" Eris said to Radeus.
"Yes, that's right. I am Radeus, young lady!" Radeus replied.
"Rudeus! He's a tutor too, right?"
The moment Rudeus heard that, he understood everything, and a good idea formed in his mind.
"Yes, yes!"
Rudeus nodded furiously!
You bastard!
Radeus also understood what Rudeus was trying to do, and quickly shook his head.
"No, no! Rudeus is your only tutor!"
"If he's a tutor too, I'll study magic properly with Rudeus!"
Eris didn't care whether Radeus really was one.
"That's what she said. What now, big brother? Do we turn her down and head home, or..."
Rudeus poked Radeus a few times.
"You two win!"
Seeing that Radeus had agreed, Eris smiled too and fell asleep contentedly in Ghislaine's arms.
The three could only smile at that. Just then, the other guards arrived, and they took Eris and the kidnappers lying on the ground back to the mansion.
"Eris!"
Philip looked anxiously at Eris in Ghislaine's arms.
"She's fine. She was just exhausted and fell asleep!" Ghislaine said.
Hearing that, Philip breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good. That's good!"
"Come to think of it, I have you and Rudeus to thank for this!"
Philip spoke to Radeus and Rudeus.
"No, it was only right!"
Rudeus shook his head.
If he hadn't proposed doing this, these people wouldn't have had the chance to kidnap Eris.
"Don't let it weigh on you. Sooner or later, they would have done it!"
Philip said to Rudeus.
"Yes!"
"Speaking of which, how did things go with the tutoring?" Philip asked.
"That's settled. But as a condition, Eris asked that Rad be her tutor too!"
Rudeus answered Philip.
"Oh! That's absolutely fine!"
Philip was rather pleased too. He hadn't expected this extra windfall.
Just then, the insider who had used that Chantless Cursed Technique woke up too. He looked at Philip before him, his face filled with terror.
"Lord Philip, it's not what you think..."
"Take him away!"
Philip ignored the traitor and ordered someone to drag him away. Presumably, nothing good awaited him.
"Lord Philip, Lord Philip..."
The man was taken away amid his repeated pleas for mercy.
"Then you two can start tutoring tomorrow! Let Eris get some proper rest today!"
Philip said to the pair.
"OK!"
Radeus made a hand gesture.
"OK? What does that mean?"
Philip looked at Radeus's gesture in confusion.
"It means 'all right'!"
Rudeus explained to Philip.
"Then we'll head back to our room to rest."
Rudeus said to Philip.
"OK!"
Putting what he had learned straight into practice, Philip replied with an OK too!
Heh, really keeping up with the times!
Radeus and Rudeus thought.
"Speaking of which, what took you so long to get there? And what was that 'Am I late?' stuff?"
"Who do you think you are, Minato Namikaze?"
"You're one to talk! What was that 'The same move won't work twice on a Saint Seiya' stuff? Do you even have a Cosmo?!"
The two bickered all the way.
Hahaha, what close brothers!
Philip thought silently as he watched the two still bickering.
"If only my children were still here. Maybe they could be like those two..."
Ghislaine said nothing beside him and simply carried Eris back to her room.
Only the newly risen sun and Philip, standing in the shadows, remained.
