Chapters 101–125 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101In the nick of time

Philip and Hilda faced execution at the hands of the Gray Rat Legion, and Philip tried to save them by claiming they were wealthy Asuran nobles. As Hilda was about to be hanged, a gray figure cut the rope and caught her, asking whether he had arrived in time.

  • Philip claimed in fluent Kadra dialect that he and Hilda were House Boreas nobles who could pay the Gray Rat Legion for their freedom.
  • The scar-faced mercenary captain considered sparing them, but the Gray Rat Legion commander ordered their execution.
  • Hilda broke free, announced her noble identity, and refused the commander's offer to spare her if she became his.
  • The commander ordered Hilda hanged and threatened to let his soldiers abuse her corpse, while Philip cursed and tried to resist.
  • A gray figure severed Hilda's noose, caught her as she fell, and asked if he was too late.

Ch. 102The sword of salvation!

Ghislaine reunited with Hilda and slaughtered the Gray Rat Legion soldiers who had captured her and Philip. She killed the legion's commander after he begged for his life, leaving Hilda and Philip safe on the execution platform.

  • Ghislaine arrived and comforted Hilda, who wept and said she missed Ghislaine and Eris.
  • Ghislaine put Hilda on the platform, drew Hiramune, and attacked the Gray Rat Legion with her Demon Eye of Insight and Sword of Light.
  • Ghislaine threw Philip onto the platform and told him to keep Hilda safe, and the couple embraced and comforted each other.
  • Ghislaine cut down the scar-faced mercenary and severed both legs of the Gray Rat Legion's commander.
  • The commander begged Ghislaine for mercy and crawled away while she killed his soldiers, but he died as she approached.

Ch. 103The search begins

Roxy returned to the devastated Fittoa Region, found Paul’s request for help, and met two people who knew him. Meanwhile, Radeus’s party investigated a mysterious monster in the Petrified Forest, where they discovered Tia was asleep while adapting to something.

  • Roxy checked the lists of the dead and missing and found that Paul’s family members were not listed among the dead.
  • Roxy read Paul’s letter asking for help finding his family and learned that his search team was based in Milishion.
  • A dwarf and a blonde elf complained about Paul, and Roxy introduced herself as his family’s former magic tutor.
  • Radeus, Rudeus, Rujierd, and Eris traveled to the Petrified Forest to investigate a mysterious monster.
  • Radeus summoned Betty and asked about Tia, then pulled the motionless shikigami from his shadow and mistakenly thought she was dead.
  • Betty explained that Tia was asleep while adapting to something and that Mahoraga remained usable, so Radeus kicked Tia back into his shadow.

Ch. 104An unexpected reunion

Rudeus and Radeus reunited with Bachiro, Gablin, and Kuruto while their parties investigated the same monster quest. After the three disciples hurried ahead, Rujierd and Radeus insisted on following them, and Radeus rescued them from a giant spider and a White-Fanged Serpent.

  • Rudeus and Radeus found the Pig-headed Man bullying Bachiro, Gablin, and Kuruto, who recognized Rudeus and excitedly greeted Radeus as their master.
  • Rudeus learned that the guild had issued three overlapping commissions for one reward, and the Pig-headed Man proposed a first-come, first-served race before leaving with his party.
  • Bachiro, Gablin, and Kuruto hurried off to pursue the quest, and Rujierd and Radeus persuaded Rudeus's group to follow them out of concern for the three children.
  • A giant spider attacked the trio, and they fled into the path of a White-Fanged Serpent, leaving them trapped between the two monsters.
  • Radeus used a splitting Cursed Technique Reversal: Red to pierce and defeat both monsters before they could harm the trio.

Ch. 105Red-Eating Great Serpent

Radeus and his companions found the Red-Eating Great Serpent after rescuing Kuruto and the other two from danger. Rujierd, Rudeus, and Eris killed the A-rank monster, while Radeus and Betty watched over the trio.

  • Radeus scolded Kuruto and the other two for rushing into a difficult dungeon, then led them toward a new crash in the jungle.
  • The group found a Red-Eating Great Serpent eating the remains of the pig-headed party, and Radeus identified it as an A-rank monster.
  • Betty placed Kuruto and the other two inside a protective magic barrier while Radeus and Betty stayed aside.
  • Rudeus pierced the serpent with a Rock Bullet, and Rujierd wounded it with his trident as Eris struck its armored body.
  • Rujierd pinned the serpent down, allowing Eris to cut it in half, and Rudeus finished it with a Rock Bullet to the head.

Ch. 106Millis

After defeating the Red-Eating Great Serpent, Radeus and his companions learned that shaving Rujierd’s green hair could weaken the curse that made the Superd Race feared. The group set out for Wenne Port, planning to travel through the Holy Millis Kingdom toward the Asura Kingdom.

  • Eris celebrated after Rujierd and the others killed the Red-Eating Great Serpent in under thirty seconds, and Radeus raised the monster’s shadow while sharing its materials with Kuruto’s party.
  • Radeus and his companions left the quest reward to Kuruto’s group in exchange for spreading the name of Dead End, then spent the night beneath the Demon Continent’s stars.
  • Rujierd revealed that he had shaved his head after Betty said his green hair carried part of the Superd curse, and Radeus, Rudeus, and Eris teased him about his bald appearance.
  • Betty explained that a racial-stigma curse made people associate green hair with demons and slaughter, and that losing the hair would gradually weaken the curse.
  • Rujierd told Radeus and Rudeus that they would travel to Wenne Port, sail to West Coast Port, and continue through Milishion toward the Asura Kingdom.
  • Rujierd explained that the Holy Millis Kingdom worshipped Saint Millis, a hero and founder of the Millis Church, whose identity was sometimes linked to the hero Ars.

Ch. 107Wenne Port

Radeus and his companions reached Wenne Port, where Rujierd warned them away from swimming because of sea monsters. After entering the wealthy port, they followed Eris to a grilled fish stall, and Radeus bought out the entire place so everyone could eat.

  • Radeus and his companions arrived at Wenne Port two months sooner than they would have traveled on foot, and Eris happily explored the beach.
  • Rujierd warned the group that monsters in the sea killed many people, so they abandoned their plans to swim and entered town.
  • Eris followed the smell of grilled fish to a stall, and Radeus paid two Green Ore Coins to book the whole place.
  • Radeus, Betty, and Eris devoured the grilled fish, and the owner told them it was called Grilled Fish of Greed.

Ch. 108A two-month vacation

Dead End learned that passage from Wenne Port to the Millis Continent cost 200 Green Ore Coins and would not be available for two months. The group decided to pay and treat the wait as a vacation, while Radeus planned to train by fighting monsters without relying on his Cursed Technique.

  • The harbor proprietor recognized Dead End by their Demon Continent nicknames, and Rudeus and Radeus bickered telepathically over their titles.
  • The proprietor quoted 200 Green Ore Coins for Rujierd's passage because he was a member of the Superd Race, and the other ship operators charged the same fare.
  • The proprietor explained that ships to Millis ran on a fixed schedule and the next departure would be in two months.
  • The group agreed to pay from their 797 Green Ore Coins and stay in Wenne Port until the ship departed.
  • Radeus said he would spend the two months fighting monsters with his body and swordsmanship to improve his physical strength.

Ch. 109The supreme slap!

Hitogami gave Rudeus a cryptic instruction to buy food and wander through alleys, while privately worrying that his visions of the future had stopped matching reality. Rudeus then tried to wake Radeus and knocked him unconscious with a barrage of mana-infused slaps.

  • Rudeus met Hitogami in the Dream Space and complained that his previous advice had been useless.
  • Hitogami told Rudeus to buy plenty of food from stalls and wander through alleyways the next day, but refused to explain why.
  • After Rudeus left, Hitogami worried that his Future Sight had failed and resolved to keep Rudeus's trust while preventing a girl's birth.
  • Rudeus went to Radeus's room and repeatedly slapped him when he failed to wake, eventually knocking him unconscious.
  • Rudeus left Radeus bruised and unconscious, while Eris heard the noise from next door and went back to sleep.

Ch. 110Demon Emperor

Rudeus encountered Kishirika Kishirisu, the Demon Emperor, in an alley and gave her food, while Radeus tracked him down. Radeus confronted Rudeus just as Kishirika discovered the brothers' overwhelming mana.

  • Radeus woke furious at Rudeus and searched Wenne Port, but could not find him with his Six Eyes.
  • Radeus asked Eris and Rujierd where Rudeus had gone, then used the Ten Shadows Technique to track him into an alley.
  • Rudeus found a starving girl, gave her his food, and learned she was Kishirika Kishirisu, the Demon Emperor.
  • Kishirika used her eye to inspect Rudeus's mana, vomited, and wondered if he was the Creator God.
  • Radeus landed beside Rudeus and confronted him, while Kishirika vomited again after sensing Radeus.

Ch. 111Demon Eye of Foresight

Rudeus met Kishirika, who rewarded him with the Demon Eye of Foresight after he failed to get her to stop Radeus from beating him. Kishirika fled, while Radeus secretly placed a Shadow Shikigami in her shadow.

  • Radeus confronted Rudeus, but stopped releasing his mana when he learned Hitogami had sent Rudeus to meet Kishirika.
  • Kishirika recovered by eating the food Radeus bought, then offered Rudeus one reward for saving her.
  • Rudeus asked Kishirika to keep Radeus from hitting him, but she refused because Radeus was stronger than she was.
  • Kishirika gave Rudeus the Demon Eye of Foresight by thrusting her hand into his right eye, prompting Radeus to threaten her with the Greed Staff-Sword.
  • Kishirika explained that the Demon Eye could foresee the future and fled over a wall, while Radeus left a Shadow Shikigami in her shadow.

Ch. 112Setting sail

Radeus decided to grow stronger by fighting monsters while Rudeus adapted to his new Demon Eye of Foresight. After taking a dangerous commission, Radeus reached the Wilderness Plain, killed an Ironclad Demon Boar, and drew the attention of a vast horde of monsters.

  • Radeus told Rudeus to act normally while they waited to see what Hitogami would do next.
  • Radeus said he would hunt monsters alone for up to a week to strengthen his body, and gave Rudeus a Mahoraga to help him adapt to the Demon Eye of Foresight.
  • Radeus accepted a guild commission to slay monsters on the Wilderness Plain, despite the receptionist warning him about the danger of a possible Monster Tide.
  • Radeus ignored the advice to wait for other teams and flew alone to the Wilderness Plain.
  • Radeus killed an Ironclad Demon Boar with the Greed Staff-Sword, and the blood drew hundreds or thousands of monsters toward him.

Ch. 113One Man Against Seventy Thousand

Radeus fought monsters across the Demon Continent to push past his limits, growing stronger as the Dharma Wheel turned. After an Earth Dragon wounded him, he faced a horde of around seventy thousand magical beasts and charged back into battle as dawn approached.

  • Radeus slaughtered the Poison Acid Wolves and fought monsters from morning until night, strengthening himself without relying on the Healing Spell Formation.
  • An Earth Dragon struck Radeus and injured him, revealing to the magical beasts that he could bleed and be hunted.
  • Radeus used his modified Sword of Light: Piercing Rock to defeat a Rock Giant and then killed a Black Dragon Beast that had wounded him from behind.
  • When the magical beasts began feeding on corpses, Radeus swallowed the bodies with his shadow and charged into the horde to protect their value as cash.

Ch. 114Supreme Heavenly Sword!

After three days of fighting, Radeus comprehended the Heavenly Sword and used it to annihilate the magical beasts on the plain. A black-haired young man named Randolph Marianne arrived with clothes and introduced himself as a cook.

  • Radeus endured a seemingly endless siege while the Dharma Wheel continued adapting his body.
  • A red figure appeared in Radeus's mind, and he realized that his existence could become a sword capable of cutting the world.
  • Radeus made a cutting motion and split hundreds of charging monsters, their magic cores, and everything along the cut.
  • Radeus healed himself and swept a seven-kilometer slash across the plain, killing the remaining monsters as his shadow devoured their corpses.
  • Radeus celebrated his new power, then noticed he was naked because his clothes had burned away.
  • Randolph Marianne approached Radeus with a set of clothes, told him to put them on, and said he was a cook.

Ch. 115The cook

Radeus met the powerful cook Randolph Marianne on the bloodied plain, and the two became friendly after a ridiculous contest and a misunderstanding. They left together for Wenne Port, with Radeus eager to show off his wealth.

  • Radeus sensed Randolph Marianne's immense strength but relaxed when Randolph showed no hostility.
  • Radeus and Randolph jokingly competed to see who could piss farther, and Radeus won.
  • Radeus introduced himself as Radeus Greyrat and declared that he would become King of the Pirates.
  • Radeus mistook Randolph's teasing for a sexual advance, and Randolph insisted that his orientation was normal.
  • Radeus and Randolph set off for Wenne Port, where Radeus promised to show off his money.

Ch. 116Gourmet "Hunter"

Radeus and Randolph ate at a restaurant in Wenne Port, where Randolph revealed he was a cook searching the Demon Continent for ingredients. Randolph’s attempt to serve his signature Dragon Meat Nanahoshi Roast left Radeus dead for a moment, and Radeus woke up furious at the disastrous meal.

  • Radeus and Randolph enjoyed a meal at a Wenne Port restaurant and talked about Randolph’s search for rare ingredients.
  • Radeus dubbed Randolph a Gourmet Hunter, and Randolph happily accepted the title before offering to cook his signature dish.
  • Using Black Dragon Beast meat and several unusual ingredients, Randolph prepared a multicolored Dragon Meat Nanahoshi Roast.
  • Radeus tasted the roast, collapsed foaming at the mouth, and died after only a few seconds.
  • Radeus revived using his Healing Spell Formation and berated Randolph for serving poison, while Randolph wondered how Radeus knew his restaurant was doing poorly.

Ch. 117A mysterious gift

After surviving Randolph’s rainbow-colored Dragon Meat Nanahoshi Roast, Radeus learned that Randolph had mixed ancestry and was related to the Immortal Demon King Atofe. Randolph discovered that Radeus could heal from wounds even faster than he could and invited him somewhere the next day to receive a mysterious gift.

  • Radeus recoiled from Randolph’s cooking, while Randolph tasted the dish and praised its flavor.
  • Randolph explained that he was born on the Demon Continent, had mixed ancestry, and was Atofe’s great-grandson.
  • Randolph told Radeus about Atofe’s power and immortal body, then demonstrated his own rapid healing.
  • Radeus cut his palm with a kitchen-paper slash and healed instantly, astonishing Randolph.
  • Randolph invited Radeus to come somewhere the next day, promising him a gift.

Ch. 118Raise your head!

Randolph took Radeus to the Broken Sword Arena, intending to fight, but instead revealed his abandoned dream of becoming a cook. Radeus encouraged him to pursue it, and Randolph renewed his resolve while recognizing that Radeus would forge his own path.

  • Randolph dragged Radeus from the restaurant to the Broken Sword Arena and challenged him to a fight for a promised gift.
  • Randolph explained that he had once pursued a powerful [position] before realizing his true dream was to cook food that made people happy.
  • Radeus told Randolph that his dream was attainable because he was already pursuing it, and Randolph clasped his hand.
  • Randolph began to doubt himself, but Radeus urged him to raise his head and keep pursuing his dream.
  • Randolph regained his resolve and realized that Radeus Greyrat would not follow the same path he had.

Ch. 119A-an intense battle?

Randolph insisted on fighting Radeus, who reluctantly accepted and faced his Bewitching Sword and Eye of the Void. The battle left Randolph terrified when Radeus shrugged off his gravity barrier, and Randolph begged to make peace.

  • Randolph stopped Radeus from leaving and demanded a fight, revealing he had watched Radeus in the Arena from the beginning.
  • Radeus summoned his magic sword, switched off Limitless, and agreed to fight as the challenger.
  • Randolph used his Bewitching Sword to lure Radeus into the path of his strike, but Radeus abruptly stopped and dodged it.
  • Randolph praised Radeus's impossible movement, then removed his eyepatch and trapped him inside a shrinking barrier that increased gravity threefold.
  • A Dharma Wheel appeared behind Radeus's head and nullified the gravity restraint, frightening Randolph into asking to make peace.

Ch. 120Radeus delivers his victory speech

Radeus endured Randolph’s strongest attack, healed instantly, and defeated him with a single strike. He stood over Randolph’s fallen body and dismissed him as boring.

  • Randolph transformed into his true Immortal Demon Race form and prepared his ultimate technique, Armor-Shattering Break.
  • Radeus refused to dodge and took Randolph’s full-powered sword strike head-on, crashing through the arena wall.
  • Radeus rose from the rubble with severe injuries, then instantly healed and appeared before Randolph.
  • Radeus grabbed Randolph’s face and slammed his head into the arena floor, leaving him unable to get back up.
  • Radeus stood beside Randolph and declared that he would forget him in the next second.

Ch. 121Laxus's Bone Ring

Radeus defeated Randolph and received Laxus's Bone Ring, a powerful relic that countered soul-based abilities. After discovering its value, Radeus teleported Randolph to a clothing shop in Wenne Port to replace the clothes he had stolen from him.

  • Radeus waited for the unconscious Randolph to wake, then stripped off Randolph's clothes to cover his own nakedness.
  • Randolph woke beneath Radeus, complained about being used as a seat, and gave him the promised bone ring after admitting defeat.
  • Randolph explained that Laxus's Bone Ring contained a curse that countered soul-based beings, possession, illusions, and mind control.
  • Radeus refused to return Randolph's clothes, but changed his attitude and offered to buy him new ones after learning the ring's value.
  • Radeus teleported himself and Randolph to a clothing shop in Wenne Port.

Ch. 122The changing stone tablets

The Seven Great Powers tablets changed for the first time, revealing the names and titles of all seven ranked fighters, including Radeus Greyrat and Rudeus Greyrat. Orsted and Perugius recognized the change as an unprecedented sign of new variables and began investigating the two Greyrats.

  • The Seven Great Powers tablets across the world illuminated and displayed the names, titles, and crests of the seven ranked fighters.
  • People around the world realized that Radeus Greyrat and Rudeus Greyrat had taken the fifth and seventh places, replacing Death God Randolph Marianne and North God Alexander Kalman Ryback.
  • Orsted saw the changed tablet and told the masked girl that he had never witnessed such a change in any of his loops.
  • Orsted explained that Laplace had established the tablets and had later been split into the Technique God and the Demon God by the Fighting God.
  • Orsted decided to follow the original plan while gathering information about Radeus Greyrat and Rudeus Greyrat.
  • Perugius ordered Almanfi to investigate the two people whose names had appeared on the tablets.

Ch. 123Hitogami's fourth piece of advice

Randolph left Radeus to return to his restaurant after Radeus gave him 700 Green Ore Coins. Meanwhile, Hitogami warned Rudeus to stay at the inn the next morning, but Rudeus decided to go out anyway.

  • Randolph grew anxious about his restaurant and told Radeus he was heading back to the Dragon King Kingdom.
  • Radeus gave Randolph 700 Green Ore Coins to help keep his restaurant running, then disappeared before Randolph could refuse.
  • Randolph set off for home, unaware that the world had undergone a major upheaval partly caused by his battle with Radeus.
  • Hitogami appeared in Rudeus's dream and advised him to stay at the inn the next morning to avoid trouble.
  • Rudeus woke up, ignored Hitogami's warning, and set out through the window.

Ch. 124Rudeus's Rotten Luck

Rudeus endured a string of mishaps on his way to the Adventurers' Guild, where Alexander Kalman Rybak arrived seeking the Azure Death God. After a staff member pointed him out, Alexander mistook Rudeus for the warrior and refused to believe his denials.

  • Rudeus stepped in fresh droppings outside the inn and blamed his Demon Eye of Foresight for failing to warn him.
  • Rudeus gave his breakfast to a lost demon child and spent an hour returning him to his parents.
  • Rudeus used magic to stop a falling copper basin from hitting him, then reached the Adventurers' Guild at noon after a day of bad luck.
  • Alexander Kalman Rybak announced that he had come to challenge the Azure Death God, and the guild members recognized his connection to Atofe.
  • A staff member identified Rudeus as a member of [Dead End] with yellow hair, so Alexander confronted him and dismissed his denials that he was the Azure Death God.

Ch. 125Setting a Duel with Rudeus

Rudeus tried to avoid a duel with Alexander, but agreed to fight him two days later on the plains outside Wenne Port. At the appointed hour, Rudeus prepared to exploit his noon peak and hidden tricks while Alexander drew the King Dragon Sword and challenged him to show his full power.

  • Alexander refused to back down, so Rudeus scheduled their duel for two days later outside Wenne Port.
  • Alexander stalked Rudeus through meals, errands, and the night, preventing him from escaping or preparing in peace.
  • Alexander led Rudeus to the dueling ground, where he had carved a showdown announcement based on Rudeus’s quote collection.
  • Rudeus drew his Pride Water Dragon King and prepared to use his noon-enhanced strength, the [Sun] Blessing, and a mini Mahoraga hidden in his shadow.
  • Alexander revealed the King Dragon Sword Kajakut and challenged Rudeus to fight at full power.
