Yūki built several specialized decks, defeated Jaden Yuki, and led Third Municipal Academy through the early rounds of the interschool league. After reaching the top three, he faced Tachibana Shingo, who had studied his strategies.

• Yūki defeated Kurosawa Kōshin and Sato Renshan, earned Soul Power and Duel Coins, and was invited to represent Third Municipal Middle School in the interschool league.
• Yūki planned a Deck Destruction strategy, then defeated Jaden Yuki by stripping away his hand and controlling his draws, unlocking the Elemental HERO card pack.
• Yūki opened the HERO packs, built a HERO Deck, and discovered Lava Golem in the refreshed Bronze Shop.
• Yūki joined Kurosawa Kōshin and Asakawa Suzune for the league, where contestants from other schools taunted Third Municipal and the first-round draw was announced.
• Yūki used his Needle Worm Deck to empty Iwasaki Tōru’s Deck and win, advancing to the Top Twelve.
• Yūki switched to hand destruction against Morita Ken and advanced to the top three, while Kurosawa Kōshin and Asakawa Suzune were eliminated.
• The placement draw paired Yūki with Tachibana Shingo, who said he had studied Yūki’s decks before opening the duel with Hydrogeddon.

Yūki won the championship with a Lava Golem strategy and earned a Kaiba Corporation prize, then tested Kaiba’s new dueling system and unlocked Thunder Dragon cards. At Duel Academy’s entrance exam, he won with Silent Magician and was recommended for Ra Yellow, with Crowler considering him for Obelisk Blue later.

• Yūki defeated Tachibana Shingo by using Lava Golem, Wave-Motion Cannon, and Gravity Bind, then watched Tachibana win the repechage and faced him in the championship match.
• Yūki overcame a poor opening hand with his HERO cards and defeated Tachibana with Elemental HERO Terra Firma, winning the championship and an invitation to Kaiba Corporation.
• Mokuba Kaiba showed Yūki the Card Vault, where Yūki chose Card of Demise and accepted Mokuba’s challenge using the new Duel Disk.
• Yūki dismantled Mokuba’s Thunder Dragon strategy and won by taking control of Thunder Dragon Colossus with Change of Heart, unlocking a Thunder Dragon card pack.
• Yūki bought Thunder Dragon packs but left the deck incomplete, then met Jaden on the way to Duel Academy’s practical exam and received Silent Magician from Yugi Muto.
• Yūki defeated examiner Ryosuke Uchida with Silent Magician after using Witch of the Black Forest, negating Smashing Ground, and destroying Curse of Dragon with Mirror Force.
• After the exam, Yūki advised Syrus and agreed to duel Bastion, while Crowler reviewed his record and recommended him for Ra Yellow.

Yūki learned how his parents died, met their spirit Snowstorm Princess, and was pulled into a Spirit World where he fought servants of Despair God Antihop. After defeating Summoned Skull, Yūki gained the Dimensional Orb and a new servant, but Antihop could still track him to Holy Spirit City.

• Yūki learned from Kamiya Ryūichi that his parents had died in Shadow Games while researching Blank Stone Tablets, then traveled with Amamiya Mio to the ruins where Snowstorm Princess emerged and recalled their deaths.
• Yūgong Feiyue challenged Yūki to a Shadow Game, but Yūki defeated her with burn damage, and Snowstorm Princess joined him as a Monster Card.
• A cracked tablet pulled Yūki, Silent Magician, and Snowstorm Princess into the Three Suns Spirit Dimension, where Yūki defeated the zombie leader and then the Puppeteer Who Controls the Dead.
• Yūki and his companions followed captured spirits toward Holy Spirit City, rescued groups along the way, and found the city besieged by a Zombie Tide.
• Yūki helped the city’s defenders fight back, then refused Summoned Skull’s offer of a passage home in exchange for abandoning the battle and dueled him instead.
• Yūki defeated Summoned Skull, spared his life, and removed the power Antihop had left within him.
• Summoned Skull gave Yūki the Dimensional Orb and entered a Master-Servant Contract with him, then warned that Antihop could track his aura to Holy Spirit City.

Yūki returned from the spirit dimension, reached Duel Academy, and defeated Chazz Princeton and Sōsuke Takahashi. He created Neos, expanded his decks, and began pursuing credits and rare cards as the monthly exam started.

• Yūki ended the siege of Holy Spirit City, attended Sun Warrior’s victory feast, and accepted Silent Swordsman’s offer to open a Dimensional Passage.
• Yūki returned to the human world, met with Kamiya Ryūichi and Amamiya Mio, received three rare cards, and created a newborn spirit for Lava Golem, whom he named Little Red.
• Yūki trained his Thunder Dragon and Vampire Decks, traveled to Duel Academy with Jaden, and met Bastion Misawa in Ra Yellow Dormitory.
• Chazz Princeton challenged Yūki to a midnight ante duel, and Yūki defeated him with his Thunder Dragon Deck, taking Infernal Polymerization as his prize.
• Yūki defeated Sōsuke Takahashi in the freshmen duels by using Yata-Garasu to block Takahashi’s draw, then finishing him with Spirit of the Harp and Kaiku the Ghost Destroyer.
• Yūki spent most of his Duel Coins to create Neos, named him Little White, and drew Neo-Spacian and HERO cards with the spirit’s help.
• Yūki studied card strategy and alchemy at Duel Academy, bought Fire Princess from the system shop, and devised an infinite damage loop using Spell Absorption, Gearfried the Iron Knight, and Butterfly Dagger - Elma.
• Yūki prepared for the monthly exam and considered how to acquire Ojama King before Professor Crowler, then began the written test.
