Background / History

Ye Yinchuan first encounters Snorlax while it is starving in his room shortly after transmigrating to the parallel Pokémon world. Its stomach growling is initially mistaken for thunder. Although Ye has little money, he chooses to keep it and begins treating it as family. Snorlax follows him because of its Lonely Nature and quickly becomes the inspiration for Ye's “Snorlax Appraisal” livestream channel. 1 2

Snorlax begins as undernourished despite weighing roughly 80 kilograms. Ye adjusts his finances around its food needs, purchases increasingly large quantities of Pokémon ration, and learns to manage its habit of hiding food beneath its fur. 10 12

Their bond deepens after Snorlax protects Ye from a rampaging Tauros despite being outmatched. The encounter becomes the beginning of its practical combat growth, leading to Rollout and Defense Curl. 28 29 30

Appearance

Snorlax initially has deep-blue skin, a white belly, large rabbit-like ears, two lower fangs, long draping body fur, and white paws with three claws each. It is initially skinny from hunger despite its considerable weight. 1 10

After evolving, it nearly doubles in size and becomes a mountain-like, seated figure with a rounder belly, shorter limbs, short soft fur, smaller cat-like ears, squinted eyes, and a widow's-peak-like marking on its forehead. 263 264

Snorlax is simple, affectionate, and heavily motivated by three things: food, sleep, and Ye Yinchuan. It is emotionally dependent on Ye due to its Lonely Nature, seeking hugs, sleeping beside him, and becoming upset when it thinks Ye does not want it nearby. 2 31 43

Though usually lazy and mild-tempered, Snorlax becomes fearless when Ye is threatened. It views becoming stronger as a way to protect its master, making it more willing to eat, train, and fight. 29 114 156

Snorlax can consume extreme quantities of food and hides extra rations beneath its fur, particularly around its armpits.
