As the invasion began, Liu Guang climbed the Sequence Stairway, reunited with Lu Xiao, and learned why the Outer Gods had corrupted Earth before Lu Xiao vanished.

• The Director recalled thousands of retired Prison Wardens and Researchers for prosthetic trials, and the volunteers signed up to be modified.
• Lu Xiao named the upgraded Sea Turtle Little Well-Behaved, while Shadow confronted Gambler and brought Bai Suoyi and Lucilla into the Dark Prison.
• Shadow persuaded the Creator to support the Spark Plan, learned Gambler’s true name was Nick Lade, and succumbed to madness before the Creator helped him recover.

After the encounter with the entity near the dark sun left Calamity scattered, Lu Xiao revived him and departed with him, while He Shang pieced together Shadow’s plan and the danger linked to the Dark Prison.

• Lu Xiao inherited Liu Guang’s authority, memories, and unfinished plans, then chose to investigate the gray-white mist before pursuing Gambler.
• Lu Xiao entered Japan’s Dark Prison, shattered an illusion with the Eye of Truth, and met Calamity, who agreed to help him drive out the other Outsiders.
