Background

Lu Ze transmigrated into a body with a poor physical foundation and spent three years practicing swordsmanship before perfecting it. As an adopted orphan and nominal collateral disciple of the Jia Lie Family, he lacked parental backing and received a meager allowance that stewards frequently docked. He supplemented his savings by secretly selling low-grade herbs on the black market 1 4 5.

His knowledge of the original story informs his decisions. He recognizes Xiao Yi Xian’s Woeful Poison Body, knows her kindhearted disposition, and identifies the significance of Xiao Yan’s purchases of alchemical ingredients 9 11 13 15.

Appearance

  • Face: Youthful and coldly handsome, with a resolute expression 1 2.
  • Posture: Holds his back straight and remains outwardly composed even before the Jia Lie Family elders 3.
  • Clothing: Initially wears coarse garments and a faded, close-fitting blue outfit; later appears in blue-green martial clothing 3 7 17.
  • Disguise: Leaves the mine in a black outfit taken from Jia Lie Shan’s confidant, partially concealing his presence and outline with Dou Qi 8.

Personality

Lu Ze is calculating, independent, and unwilling to accept expendable status. He recognizes Jia Lie Bi’s attempts to bind him through resources and bargains for better terms while privately planning his departure. He likewise approaches Ya Fei as a prospective business partner rather than accepting a simple sale of his Magic Core 3 4 9.

His retaliation can be severe: he deliberately cripples Jia Lie Shan rather than killing him and fabricates evidence to conceal his own involvement. However, he also recognizes his limitations, repeatedly acknowledging that powerful techniques cannot fully compensate for low cultivation, insufficient experience, or depleted Dou Qi 8 13 16.

He expresses concern through action more readily than words. After risking his life for Xiao Yi Xian, he claims that he merely needs her to refine medicine; later, he returns to the threatened pavilion despite his injuries and places himself between its storehouse and the deputy commander 13 25.

Abilities & Skills

Extreme Dao Deduction Panel

Lu Ze’s transmigrator privilege extrapolates perfected cultivation methods and Dou Techniques into higher-dimensional arts 1.

  • Requirements: A perfected foundation, specified materials, and sufficient Deduction Points 1 5.
  • Point acquisition: Killing or severely injuring cultivators and magical beasts can yield points through absorbed origin 2 10 13.
  • Scope: Supports both combat techniques and cultivation methods 1 13.
  • Further sword-art deduction: Requires first-order perfection, a High Mysterious Tier or better Sword Embryo containing sword intent, either a Tier 3 wind-attribute Magic Core or essence of gengjin, and one hundred Deduction Points. This upgrade is not shown completed 9.

Grass Character Sword Art

Derived from Basic Swordsmanship, this incomplete art produces extraordinarily fine, sharp Sword Qi through Sword Qi into Threads 1.

  • Cuts a corner from a thousand-jin black iron stone and severs Mysterious Tier weapons 1 2.
  • Can transmit cutting power through a sheathed sword, demonstrated against Ya Fei’s Vajra Heavy Sword 9.
  • Supports precise attacks against existing openings in defenses; Lu Ze kills Tie Shan by striking through a previously damaged section of his Dou Qi Gauze Robe 13.
  • Limits: Early uses consume much of his Dou Qi. Its sharpness does not guarantee penetration against stronger opponents, and the Emerald Water Sword struggles to withstand repeated use 2 10 12 20.

Suction Palm

A Low Yellow Tier technique centered on pulling and control. Lu Ze continues using the original technique after deriving the Imprisoning Heaven Finger from it 5 15.

  • Pulls enemies off balance or draws them into close range 15.
  • Manipulates vines, loose stones, fallen leaves, chains, and rubble to obstruct attacks or create openings 16 18 20 25.
  • Enables Knee Slash, which overturns a paving slab beneath Zhao Tu to disrupt his footing 18.
  • Retrieves the Twofold Flower without requiring Lu Ze to approach it directly 28.

Great Wilderness Imprisoning Heaven Finger

A higher-dimensional suppression art that uses Dou Qi to condense gravity laws. Its incomplete first-order version grants only Imprison Heaven and Earth 7.

  • Crushing force: Kills a Tier 2 Iron-Armored Earth Dragon and suppresses multiple enemies within a hundred-foot gravitational field 7.
  • Controlled confinement: Restrains toxins escaping from Xiao Yi Xian’s dantian without crushing her body 11.
  • Concentrated attack: Compresses its force into a fingertip-sized point to destroy the Crimson Flame Lizard internally 20.
  • Limits: A normal early use consumes more than half his Dou Qi. The compressed application costs more than two uses of the Grass Character Sword Art, while Tie Shan can break free of its gravitational field 7 12 20.

Answer to the Beggar Under the Mulberry

A seventh-grade immortal art from another world, obtained by deducing his existing cultivation foundation. It grants three divine abilities and improves the quality of his Dou Qi 14 16 17.

  • Strips impurities from his Dou Qi, making it nearly ten percent purer after one night of circulation 17.
  • Allows him to draw Coldwater Grass’s frigid Qi into conflict with internal fire poison during emergency treatment 21.
  • Is not shown perfected; its acquisition does not itself establish a new Dou Qi realm 16 17.

Do Not Investigate Me

A conceptual concealment ability that deceives spiritual perception and makes Lu Ze appear to be an ordinary, uncultivated herb gatherer 16 17.

  • Conceals him while Xiao Yan’s party passes below his position 16.
  • Even Yao Lao’s soul perception would regard him as an ordinary mortal without deliberate probing; this is not established as immunity to focused investigation 17.

Drinking the Blood of the People

Plunders blood Qi that would otherwise dissipate and feeds it back into Lu Ze 16.

  • Extracts residual blood Qi and medicinal potency from discarded medicinal materials, converting them into usable Dou Qi 17.
  • Replenishes his exhausted meridians and suppresses the pain of his injured arm after he kills Zhao Tu 19.
  • Can draw lingering vitality from nearby blood, though his attempt during Mu Li’s arrival does not immediately restore his fighting strength 26.

Earth Shaman

Communicates with earth veins and borrows Earth Qi, providing both underground perception and concealment 16 17.

  • Detects the mineral vein and Fire Spirit Marrow beneath the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s compound 18.
  • Helps inspect underground structures and identify the false treasury’s poison trap 19.
  • Merges his and Xiao Yi Xian’s living presence with surrounding stone and mud to evade searchers 27.
  • Locates a dried underground cold-spring channel beneath a Flame Demon Spider 30.
  • Limits: Its perceptual reach depends on his current realm; while injured in hiding, he avoids attempting to observe enemies several li away 27.

Equipment & Items

  • Emerald Water Sword: A Yellow Tier High Rank longsword worth 260 gold coins, selected from the Jia Lie Family storeroom. It develops chips and cracks under combat strain and is discarded after the pavilion’s destruction 4 10 26 27.
  • Vajra Heavy Sword: A Yellow Tier High Rank weapon looted from Mu Li’s treasury and used after the Emerald Water Sword becomes unusable 27 29.
  • Refined-steel greatsword: Described as a Low Mysterious Tier weapon during his return to the valley; used to break through rock above an underground channel 30.
  • Storage rings: Carry money, medicines, materials, and loot. Ya Fei provides a stocked ring, while Lu Ze also takes rings from defeated enemies 9 13 19.
  • Mysterious Heavy Iron Ore: A hundred-jin gravity-attribute ore obtained from the Jia Lie storeroom under the pretext of using it as a whetstone; assists his Suction Palm training and deduction 4 5.
  • Poison-smoke pellets: Three portable preparations made by Xiao Yi Xian to briefly disrupt a Dou Zhe’s Dou Qi circulation; used against Zhao Tu 18 19.
  • Fire Spirit Marrow: Stolen from the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s underground treasury and retained through his escape 20 26.
  • Bone fragment: Carries information concerning Fire Spirit Crystals and a third-order magical beast, which Lu Ze connects to Cliffside Valley’s Earth Dragon 24 30.
  • Ice-Fire Body Tempering Pill: Prepared by Xiao Yi Xian from the Twofold Flower and supplementary herbs; heals his damaged meridians and restores him to peak condition 29.

Relationships

  • Xiao Yi Xian — Rescued companion and medicine-maker. He suppresses her Woeful Poison Body; she treats his injuries, develops poisons and protective medicines, and escapes with him after the pavilion falls. He later embraces her before returning to seek the valley’s opportunity 11 13 18 27 30.
  • Ya Fei — Commercial partner and intelligence source. Provides thirty thousand gold coins and cultivation supplies, agrees to source deduction materials, and negotiates a thirty-percent share of high-grade cores and valuables from the planned mercenary-group raid 9 15 16.
  • Lao Li — Shopkeeper working under Lu Ze at the Myriad Medicine Pavilion. Reports accounts and warns him about the consequences of refusing protection payments 13.
  • Jia Lie Bi — Adoptive family patriarch and manipulative patron. Offers resources to secure Lu Ze’s service while planning to exploit his talent and possible death at the mine 3 4.
  • Jia Lie Shan — Hostile direct-branch disciple. Attempts to send Lu Ze into danger and later orders an ambush; Lu Ze destroys his dantian and meridians 2 7 8.
  • Mu Li — Commander of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group and principal pursuer. His conflict with Lu Ze escalates from surveillance and protection demands to a treasury raid, destruction of the pavilion, and a mountain manhunt 15 20 27 29.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Break with the Jia Lie Family

After deriving the Grass Character Sword Art, Lu Ze defeats Jia Lie Shan and uses his newly demonstrated strength to negotiate a Grade Jia residence, five hundred gold coins, doubled cultivation resources, and permission to select a weapon. He acquires the overlooked Mysterious Heavy Iron Ore while choosing the Emerald Water Sword 1 2 3 4.

Sent to scout an abandoned mine, he gathers gravity cores, kills Xiao Ning’s party, and completes the Great Wilderness Imprisoning Heaven Finger. He then defeats Jia Lie Shan’s subordinates, cripples Shan, and stages the scene as a mutually destructive clash with the Xiao Clan before leaving in disguise 5 6 7 8.

Establishing the Myriad Medicine Pavilion

Lu Ze secures Ya Fei’s partnership before entering the Magical Beast Mountain Range. There, he rescues Xiao Yi Xian, restrains her poison physique, and narrowly kills the One-Star Dou Shi Tie Shan by exploiting a damaged section of his defenses 9 10 11 12 13.

While recovering, he takes control of part of the Myriad Medicine Pavilion, stops its protection payments, and expands its gathering routes. His confrontation with Poison Wolf draws the attention of Mu Li, whose men begin monitoring the shop 13 14 15.

Treasury Raid and Manhunt

After acquiring his three divine abilities, Lu Ze discovers Fire Spirit Marrow beneath the mercenary compound. He eliminates Zhao Tu, infiltrates the real treasury, and kills its chained Crimson Flame Lizard. Unable to defeat Mu Li, he detonates the ore mother and escapes through an underground river, suffering severe burns and fire poisoning 16 18 19 20 21.

He survives pursuit while injured and uses a Wind Spirit Crystal from a Qing Feng Eagle skeleton to clear most of the fire poison. On returning to the pavilion, he fights Mu Li’s deputy commander with Xiao Yi Xian’s assistance. Mu Li’s arrival forces them to abandon the shop and escape through a drainage tunnel beneath its well 22 23 25 26 27.

Cliffside Valley

Lu Ze and Xiao Yi Xian enter Cliffside Valley to escape pursuit and obtain the Twofold Flower. Disturbing the underground cold vein awakens a peak third-rank Earth Dragon, whose roar collapses the valley’s exit. The pair shelter behind a waterfall while Mu Li’s capture squad waits outside 28 29.

Xiao Yi Xian uses the flower to restore Lu Ze with an Ice-Fire Body Tempering Pill. Connecting the Earth Dragon to information on his bone fragment, he returns to investigate the opportunity involving Fire Spirit Crystals and locates an underground channel beneath a Flame Demon Spider 29 30.
