Abilities & Limitations
Grass Character Sword Art Conduit
The sword channels Lu Ze’s Dou Qi into the Grass Character Sword Art; its extraordinary cutting feats result from his technique rather than the weapon’s Yellow Tier rank 6 9.
- Produces nearly imperceptible, threadlike Sword Qi capable of cutting through the Iron-Armored Rock Rats’ stone armor and Xiao Ning’s Mysterious Tier longsword 6.
- Transmits cutting power while fully sheathed: Lu Ze splits a Mid Mysterious Tier Vajra Heavy Sword without drawing the blade 9.
- Supports quick, partially drawn strikes, including attacks against a Green-Scaled Python and a Greenwood Demon Ape 10 16.
Defensive Use
- Lu Ze blocks Tie Shan’s Ghost-Head Broadsword with the blade, but the impact splits the webbing of his hand and throws him into a rock face 12.
- He also blocks Zhao Tu’s poisoned short blade with the sword still sheathed; the force again injures his hand and blasts him backward 18.
Durability Limits
- Its High Yellow Tier construction struggles to withstand repeated use of the Grass Character Sword Art. Lu Ze judges that forcibly unleashing the second-order version would likely shatter it immediately 10.
- Accumulated technique strain and a powerful blow from the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s deputy commander cause the blade to crack 25.
- It does not overcome every defensive gap: Lu Ze’s strike fails to penetrate Mu Li’s Dou Qi gauze robe, and his depleted attack against the deputy commander inflicts only a shallow wound 20 26.
History
Acquisition
Jia Lie Bi allows Lu Ze to select a weapon worth up to 300 gold coins. Lu Ze chooses the Emerald Water Sword from the family storeroom, where Jia Lie Fu identifies its rank and price while privately dismissing it as flashy but useless. After accepting the sword, Lu Ze also obtains the mysterious heavy iron ore being used to support a rack 4.
Major Uses
| Event | Role of the sword |
|---|---|
| Abandoned mine expedition | Lu Ze kills sixteen Rock Rats, then cuts through Xiao Ning’s sword and kills him and his five accompanying Xiao Clan thugs 6. |
| Mittel Auction House negotiation | Lu Ze cleaves a Mysterious Tier Vajra Heavy Sword with the sheathed blade, demonstrating his sword intent during his partnership negotiations with Ya Fei 9. |
| Early beast hunting | By the opening of Chapter 10, the blade bears a chip from killing a Tier 2 Iron-Armored Earth Dragon. Lu Ze continues using it against beasts in the Magical Beast Mountain Range 10. |
| Rescue of Xiao Yi Xian | Lu Ze uses the sword while killing the Wolf Head mercenaries threatening her 10 11. |
| Fight with Tie Shan | After enduring Tie Shan’s attacks, Lu Ze redirects his sword into an existing tear in the opponent’s Dou Qi gauze robe and sends Sword Qi through his throat 12 13. |
| Defense of the Myriad Medicine Pavilion | Lu Ze wounds attacking mercenaries and breaks Poison Wolf’s lower-grade Mysterious Tier Fine Steel Broadsword 15. |
| Greenwood Demon Ape hunt | Lu Ze first cuts the ape’s arm, then kills it with a thread of Sword Qi across its chest 16. |
| Zhao Tu ambush | After poison disrupts Zhao Tu’s Dou Qi, Lu Ze’s sword attack cuts through his short blade and fatally wounds his throat 18 19. |
| Treasury confrontation | Lu Ze attacks Mu Li with the Grass Character Sword Art, but cannot penetrate his Dou Qi gauze robe 20. |
| Return to Qingshan Town | Lu Ze ambushes a mercenary patrol and slices open its Eight-Star Dou Zhe leader’s unguarded nape 24. |
| Battle with the deputy commander | Lu Ze splits the deputy commander’s incoming blade light, but subsequent blocking cracks the Emerald Water Sword. After Xiao Yi Xian intervenes with poison needles, he uses the damaged weapon to slash the opponent’s chest 25 26. |
Destruction and Replacement
During the final fighting at the Myriad Medicine Pavilion, Lu Ze plants the sword in the rubble with its cracks plainly visible. He still carries it after escaping with Xiao Yi Xian, but by their arrival at the abandoned Earth God Temple it has become utterly useless scrap 26 27.
Lu Ze throws it into muddy water and replaces it with the Vajra Heavy Sword looted from Mu Li’s treasury 27.
