After surviving Hunter J’s attack, Fang Yan helped Officer Jenny and the forest Pokémon extinguish the wildfire. The Pokémon blessed him and the Pokémon Day Care, and he promised to help rebuild their home.

• Fang Yan called Shauna to reassure her, then joined Officer Jenny and the firefighters in battling the forest fire.
• Fang Yan organized Pokémon skilled in Rain Dance to extinguish the flames area by area until the fire was out.

After a frightening night, Fang Yan returned to the Pokémon Day Care and comforted Shauna before resting. Shauna helped care for the Pokémon while Officer Jenny visited with her newly evolved Arcanine.

• Fang Yan brought Gengar and the others to the Pokémon Center for treatment, thanked the Pokémon who had helped, and returned to the Pokémon Day Care.

• Fang Yan invited Vespiquen to dinner and encouraged her to ask her swarm to move into the Pokémon Day Care; she returned with the swarm and then came back to eat.
• Officer Jenny told Fang Yan that the League had rescued Pokémon from Pokémon Hunters and planned to foster some at Professor Rowan's laboratory and the rest at Fang Yan's Day Care.
• Officer Jenny offered Fang Yan some Pokémon Eggs and explained that the rescued Pokémon could later be released or matched with Trainers.

Fang Yan and Shauna followed Vespiquen into the forest to witness Burmy, Cascoon, and Silcoon emerge from their cocoons beneath the moonlight. They returned home after seeing the evolution light fill the scarred forest, with Fang Yan grateful to Vespiquen and Staravia.

• Fang Yan spent the evening with Vulpix and the other Pokémon, then wrote notes about the Pokémon Day Care while Gengar watched battle videos.

• Fang Yan received a Fire Stone and a Leaf Stone as gifts from the forest Pokémon.
• Fang Yan noticed a message hinting that a time traveler had been drawn to the forest, but he and Shauna found no one nearby.
• Celebi emerged from a ring of light and restored the devastated forest by making new growth spring up wherever it flew.
• Fang Yan introduced Celebi to Shauna, Chingling, Gengar, and the other Pokémon, then invited it to rest at the Pokémon Day Care.

Gengar and Celebi sneaked out to dig up bamboo shoots while Fang Yan slept, then returned in time for breakfast. Officer Jenny brought thirty-eight Pokémon Eggs, twenty of which Fang Yan received, and he began examining the varied eggs left behind by the Pokémon Hunters.

• Gengar woke Celebi quietly, taught it an exercise routine, and took it into the forest to dig up bamboo shoots.
• Fang Yan woke to find Gengar and Celebi missing, then surveyed the growing Pokémon Day Care and called Shauna and the others to breakfast.
• Gengar and Celebi returned with a basket of bamboo shoots, which Fang Yan accepted before sending them to wash up and eat.
• Shauna began building her flower garden with help from the Pokémon while Fang Yan waited at the front of the Pokémon Day Care.
• Officer Jenny arrived with thirty-eight Pokémon Eggs and offered Fang Yan twenty of them.

After Jenny left, Fang Yan and Gengar moved the eggs into the incubation room, and Fang Yan tried to coax Gengar into helping him prepare bamboo shoots and make snacks.

• Officer Jenny told Fang Yan he could choose from the confiscated Pokémon Eggs and promised he would get first consideration for any future spare pseudo-legendary eggs.
• Fang Yan selected twenty eggs, including Eevee, Magby, Scyther, Rhyhorn, and Gligar.

• Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy asked Fang Yan to help treat the rescued Pokémon’s psychological wounds, and he agreed to come to the laboratory.
• Fang Yan closed the Pokémon Day Care, assigned Dali and the others to go ahead, and asked Staravia to watch over the home with Vespiquen.

• Fang Yan arrived at Professor Rowan’s laboratory with Shauna, and Professor Rowan entrusted him with helping the frightened Pokémon.
• Fang Yan asked Shauna and Petilil to comfort Roselia, and Petilil shared how Fang Yan had helped it overcome despair and fear of the dark.
