An unusual Western girlfriend
After eating, Li Qi took his follower Daisy Johnson back into the basement to continue the adaptation training for unlocking her body's potential.
Without needing her master's instructions, she changed into the specially made clothes that had already been prepared nearby.
The clothes had been carefully sewn from a special black fabric, their surface carrying a faint metallic sheen that glimmered under the lights.
Li Qi stood beside her as before, watching intently throughout and guiding JARVIS in controlling the energy.
For this energy storm, Li Qi had already instructed JARVIS to raise the energy another eight percentage points above yesterday's level.
After a burst of dazzling light and an energy storm, Daisy Johnson could exercise a little control over the release of her inner potential. Its destructive power was much lower than yesterday's release, though it still destroyed three different instruments, all of which would have to be replaced.
Several more spots on Daisy Johnson's specially made outfit had burst open. The burns and electric shock reactions on her body had diminished considerably, her face was blackened, and her previously tidy long hair now hung loose.
This time, however, she did not fall to the ground. Instead, she raised her head slightly and looked straight at her master, her eyes filled with anticipation and longing, as though yearning for his praise.
Li Qi was not stingy in that regard and immediately gave Daisy Johnson a few words of praise.
She immediately broke into a happy smile, joy sparkling in her eyes, and had JARVIS charge up the energy again. She wanted to keep triggering the superpower within her until she could activate it on her own.
This activation required several or even dozens of guided attempts before it could gradually become a habitual, natural response, no longer requiring an external trigger.
Once the energy had charged, it was released again. This time, Li Qi could clearly sense that Daisy Johnson was already able to release some of her power voluntarily, producing strong vibrations. The name "Quake" really did suit her.
After this attempt, most of Daisy's specially made outfit was damaged.
Seeing the faint beads of sweat on her forehead and her somewhat blackened face, Li Qi stopped the training and said gently,
"Let's train again tonight. Besides, this room needs some repairs."
He took Daisy Johnson back to the bedroom, and they entered the bathroom one after the other to wash up thoroughly.
By the time they finished showering, it was already four or five in the afternoon. With breakthroughs in both projects, Li Qi was delighted, so he prepared to take Daisy Johnson out of the villa and down from the hilltop for a stroll along the beach below, wanting to feel the sea breeze, admire the sunset, and enjoy some leisure time.
He drove swiftly down from the hilltop, while Happy followed behind with two bodyguards, driving carefully the whole way.
After parking the car securely in the hilltop parking lot, Li Qi took his follower and walked leisurely toward the beach.
There were many people on the beach, and the two of them wandered casually along it for a while.
A trace of pride welled up in Daisy Johnson's heart. She was so happy that her master was walking with her on the beach that shock waves faintly threatened to ripple out from within her.
She quickly reined in her feelings and worked to suppress the restless force inside her. It seemed she would have to keep intensifying her training tomorrow.
Naturally, Daisy Johnson's little expressions and movements did not escape Li Qi's keen eyes, but he said nothing.
Daisy Johnson wanted to draw close to her master and walk shoulder to shoulder with someone important to her, like the other people on the beach. But she never made any overly intimate move, only edging a little closer to him.
Just then, a sudden commotion broke out on the beach. A man and a woman were chased straight from the green park beside the beach onto the sand by a group of people behind them.
The tourists strolling nearby and the people preparing to watch the sun set over the sea hurried aside in alarm, unwilling to be caught up in this sudden chaos.
Li Qi and Daisy Johnson stopped and looked over a short distance away.
Li Qi saw a man and a woman being pursued by a group wearing floral shorts, bright red and green shirts, and sunglasses.
Of the pair being chased, the man had an Eastern face and neat, short hair, and wore an ordinary shirt and jeans. The woman whose hand he held tightly had a Western face, small eyes, somewhat disheveled hair, and wore a shirt and white pants.
As she ran, the woman kept screaming, "Ah! Ah!" and calling out, hoping the people around them would help.
The two shared one feature: their faces were both rather round, making them look somewhat alike.
At a glance, Li Qi immediately recognized the two people being chased. They should be Shang-Chi and his girlfriend, Katy.
He had not expected to encounter people connected to the legendary Ten Rings only a few days after transmigrating into this world. He would definitely have to save these two.
As the pair ran toward them, the man did not shout for help or ask anyone to call the police. From time to time, he even exchanged a few moves with the people pursuing them.
The man had trained in martial arts, but there seemed to be a great many people chasing them.
At that moment, Li Qi saw an eager expression appear on Quake Daisy Johnson's face. He could take this opportunity both to give Quake some practice and to rescue those two, making contact with people connected to the Ten Rings.
So Li Qi waved his hand and decisively stepped forward with Quake to meet them. Seeing the pair advance rather than get out of the way, a kindhearted person nearby anxiously warned Li Qi,
"Those people are ruthless, and there are a lot of them. Don't throw your lives away for nothing. Hurry and run like us."
Li Qi shook his head. After thanking the person for the warning, he turned to Quake Daisy Johnson and said,
"Daisy, this is the perfect chance to see whether you can control the shock waves inside you at will. Go up and exchange a few moves with those pursuers in a moment."
After hearing this, Daisy Johnson's eager expression immediately turned to excitement. She enthusiastically loosened her elbows and wrists, then shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow under the astonished gazes of the people nearby.
