Before he could locate Paradise Island, where the little princess Diana lived, Li Qi unexpectedly met Gwen Stacy-Spider-Man Peter Parker's future girlfriend.

To be precise, the two had not yet become a couple. When Li Qi learned this, he inexplicably felt relieved, as though an invisible stone had quietly slipped from his heart.

Li Qi had the head of human resources summon Gwen to the president's office on the top floor of Stark Tower. He sat at ease in the executive chair with his legs crossed, a hint of anticipation in his eyes as he waited for her arrival.

About five or six minutes later, a knock came at the office door.

Through the surveillance screen, Li Qi saw Gwen standing outside. Her head was slightly lowered, and her hands unconsciously pinched the hem of her shirt, revealing a trace of nervousness.

Li Qi rose, walked steadily to the door, opened it gently, and beckoned to her.

Cautiously and a little nervously, Gwen walked with measured steps into the somewhat empty office area, which spanned a full eighty or ninety square meters and contained only an executive desk and chair.

In the empty room, her footsteps were particularly clear, echoing through the silence.

Li Qi studied Gwen before him. She wore a simple white T-shirt, its pure cotton fabric resting against her skin, paired with light blue jeans that perfectly outlined her long legs.

Her long golden hair was tied in a high ponytail, swaying gently as she walked like lively golden waves.

Her green eyes were like deep emeralds, clear and bright. Paired with her pale red lips, they resembled flowers blooming in spring, giving her a fresh, natural appearance that was beautiful and captivating.

A thought crossed Li Qi's mind: Should I attract Gwen with my own abilities and have her work for the company, or use special means to take control of the situation quickly?

The thought flashed through his mind like lightning and vanished.

Li Qi frowned slightly. After a brief consideration, he ultimately decided on a more direct approach.

When Gwen approached the desk, her eyes full of confusion, Li Qi narrowed his eyes slightly, focused, and used his mind-control ability to quickly browse her memories.

As it turned out, Gwen had known Peter Parker for less than a week. Peter Parker was still busy with his high school studies, while Gwen had already begun her internship.

Compared with Peter Parker, Gwen was more accomplished overall in science and biology. Not only did she excel in class, but she also actively participated in various research competitions and had won awards on multiple occasions.

As a result, she had received several internship offers. Unlike the storyline of the Marvel cinematic universe, she had chosen an internship in Stark Industries' biology and science department and had been there for more than half a month.

Li Qi reviewed Gwen's internship evaluations and found that every supervisor and department head had nothing but praise for her.

The evaluations mentioned that Gwen demonstrated exceptional learning ability and innovative thinking at work, consistently offering fresh perspectives and solutions. Her analysis of experimental data was meticulous, and her attitude toward work was rigorous and conscientious.

They all recommended that human resources retain her at the company.

Li Qi recognized Gwen's abilities and shared their view, so he focused and used his mind-control ability again, taking control of her thoughts and making her absolutely loyal to him.

In an instant, the confusion in Gwen's eyes turned to respect and adoration.

Her gaze became exceptionally resolute, as though Li Qi were her guiding light.

Li Qi was very pleased. He rose from his executive chair, walked around the desk, leaned lightly against its side, and smiled as he beckoned Gwen over for an in-depth conversation about work.

Li Qi examined Gwen closely. Compared with other North American girls, her face was clearer and prettier, her skin as fine and smooth as mutton-fat jade, with scarcely a noticeable blemish.

She was tall and slender, with long, straight legs. In high heels, she stood out even more, as though she possessed a distinctive air all her own.

Li Qi talked with Gwen about her duties, career plans, and views on the company's biological sciences department, and she answered every question earnestly.

During their conversation, Gwen emphasized her participation in an extracurricular internship program Dr. Connors had set up at her high school. She had developed a close teacher-student relationship with him and placed great importance on the program.

Her eyes shone as she described what she had gained and how she had grown through the program, full of admiration for Dr. Connors.

Li Qi nodded and had JARVIS pull up Dr. Connors's information, learning that he was Oscorp's chief scientist.

Stark Industries was transitioning from weapons manufacturing toward diversification. Li Qi felt it was necessary to recruit Dr. Connors, but his research projects would need careful evaluation to avoid repeating the mistakes of the original storyline. He also needed to do his best to prevent misfortune from befalling Gwen's father.

He knew full well that even a small error in judgment could trigger a series of unpredictable consequences.

Very satisfied with Gwen's performance, he waved her back to work and arranged to meet her at noon to discuss the company's direction in biological sciences and offer her career advice.

Gwen straightened herself up, nodded slightly, and returned downstairs to continue working with a hint of excitement and anticipation.

Li Qi tidied the documents that had been disarranged on his desk and sat back down in his comfortable executive chair.

Then he slowly walked to the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows and gazed out at Manhattan's bustling streets.

Traffic streamed along the streets, pedestrians thronged the sidewalks, and high-rises stood in dense rows, gleaming with a metallic sheen in the sunlight.

Countless feelings stirred within him. This city was full of opportunities and challenges.

He had JARVIS pull up Oscorp's information as he considered how to acquire this powerful corporate giant.

There was a considerable gap in size between Stark Industries and Oscorp. Although Stark Industries' share price had fallen by thirty percentage points following the successive closures of its weapons design and manufacturing departments, its market capitalization still exceeded Oscorp's.

He thought, If I can successfully acquire Oscorp, Stark Industries' market capitalization will double. Not only will it expand the company, but it will also let us integrate both sides' resources and diversify. I must seize the opportunity to make this happen.
