Gwen's company
Li Qi sat at the spacious desk, his brows slightly furrowed, his index finger unconsciously tapping lightly against its surface with a rhythmic tap-tap.
In his mind, he repeatedly weighed the plan to bring Oscorp under his control, the possibilities turning like a revolving lantern.
In the end, however, he set it aside for the time being with a conflicted expression. After all, finding Wonder Woman, Diana, was his top priority right now. By comparison, the matter of Oscorp would have to wait.
Fortunately, with Gwen Stacy keeping him company tonight, his weary body and mind could find a little comfort.
Li Qi had spent the entire day resting comfortably in the three-floor area at the top of Stark Tower.
Looking back over the past week or so, he had traveled from the Malibu villa to Ta Lo Village, and now he was about to set off for Paradise Island. His schedule had been as taut as a fully drawn bow, leaving him not a moment to relax.
The top-floor area was lavishly furnished. Soft carpets covered the floors, expensive paintings hung on the walls, and exquisite sculptures stood in the corners. Every detail spoke of luxury and comfort.
JARVIS constantly monitored the progress of the search for Paradise Island's location.
Ever since hefty bounties had been posted on the dark web and through all the major channels, clues about Paradise Island had come fluttering in like snowflakes.
After meticulously analyzing and filtering them through multiple rounds, JARVIS told Li Qi that he would most likely be able to pinpoint Paradise Island's coordinates tomorrow.
After work, Li Qi summoned Gwen Stacy to his spacious, brightly lit office over the internal phone.
Then the two left the office, took the elevator straight down to the basement parking garage, and drove the sleek sports car toward the villa on the outskirts of New York City at breakneck speed.
At the villa, Li Qi had already ordered the artificial intelligence JARVIS to work overtime producing Iron Man suits, and the suits' blueprints had also been upgraded and revised.
For this trip to Paradise Island, he intended to bring at least eight suits. With those suits protecting him, there would be little need to bring a team of bodyguards.
Gwen Stacy was still wearing a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans, with delicate high heels on her feet. Like a nimble little deer, she followed lightly behind Li Qi.
Her steps were brisk and her figure graceful, every step seeming to brim with youthful vitality.
After entering the villa, the two rested briefly in the living room, which was furnished with soft sofas. An exquisite tea set and fresh fruit sat on the coffee table.
They then moved to the dining room.
After a simple dinner, they went together to the spacious bedroom on the second floor.
At that moment, the sunset's afterglow spread faintly across the sky like a soft, gauzy veil. Fiery red clouds stretched freely across it, like a breathtaking painting painstakingly created by nature.
Having just finished their meal, they did not go straight to bed. First, Gwen Stacy attentively helped Li Qi enjoy a comfortable hot bath, and only afterward did they settle onto the soft bed together.
Accompanied by the last glow of the setting sun, the two shared some intimacy, and the sky soon grew dark.
Li Qi and Gwen Stacy left the master bedroom and headed to the basement to check on the suits' production progress.
In the basement, various advanced machines were arranged neatly, and robotic arms worked in an orderly fashion.
Six suits had already been assembled and painted. Under the bright lights, the brand-new suits gleamed with a cold metallic sheen. Li Qi was very pleased with what he saw, then returned to the master bedroom.
Back in the bedroom, Li Qi gently gathered Gwen Stacy into his arms again, softly stroking her long, smooth hair, which flowed like a golden waterfall.
He looked at Gwen Stacy's fair, flawless face. Her skin was fine and smooth, as lustrous as mutton-fat jade, and her delicate features seemed like a work of art painstakingly sculpted by the heavens.
He was filled with delight. Compared with other North Americans, Gwen Stacy's face and figure were both first-rate. It was no wonder Li Qi was especially fond of her.
Although Gwen Stacy was just an ordinary girl at the moment, Li Qi knew very well that in a certain Marvel storyline, Gwen Stacy had become Spider-Man, known as Spider-Woman or Ghost-Spider.
Thus, Li Qi had extremely high hopes for Gwen Stacy's future, as though he could see a rising star about to shine in the world of superheroes.
With Gwen Stacy beside him, Li Qi thoroughly enjoyed that night, as though all his fatigue and worries had vanished in those warm moments.
Early the next morning, sunlight slipped through the gaps in the curtains and fell gently into the room, forming golden shafts of light, as though draping the room in a golden veil.
Gwen Stacy got up early and personally prepared breakfast with care.
In the kitchen, she handled the utensils skillfully. Eggs sizzled in the pan, and the scent of toast filled the entire space.
Once breakfast was set before Li Qi, he gently ruffled Gwen Stacy's long golden hair, quickly finished his meal, and drove back to Stark Tower for work. Gwen Stacy returned to the biology and science department to continue her internship, beginning another busy day.
As soon as Li Qi returned to the office, he instructed Tony Stark to try approaching Dr. Connors first and find out how likely it was that they could recruit the scientist.
After returning to the president's office on the top floor, Li Qi called up JARVIS and asked him to report the latest developments in the search for Paradise Island's location.
JARVIS instantly projected a series of charts and photographs into the air. The densely packed data and high-resolution images seemed like a mysterious code leading to Paradise Island.
JARVIS reported to Li Qi that they were very close to their target, but the information still needed another careful round of scrutiny and filtering before a final determination could be made.
As for accompanying security personnel, he intended to set out alone on the journey to find the little princess Diana.
In his heart, this journey was a one-of-a-kind adventure. He would rely on his own strength to lift Paradise Island's mysterious veil.
Everything was proceeding step by step in an orderly fashion. All that remained now was information on Paradise Island's location.
Li Qi leaned back in his large, soft executive chair and sank into deep thought again.
Although the company was already gradually shutting down its weapons design and manufacturing departments on the surface, he reconsidered. To be on the safe side, he should not shut them down entirely.
Then where would be the best place to hide the weapons design and manufacturing departments?
His gaze wandered around the office as he considered the possibilities.
After turning it over in his mind, finding somewhere isolated from the world was undoubtedly the best way to avoid outside scrutiny.
In that case, moving the weapons and design departments spun off from the company into the mysterious space where Ta Lo Village was located was undoubtedly an excellent choice.
It was like a corner forgotten by the world, safe and secluded.
Thus, Li Qi called Tony Stark to his office over the internal phone and solemnly ordered him to begin relocating the two departments immediately.
He looked at Tony Stark gravely, emphasizing the task's importance and secrecy word by word.
Publicly, they would announce that the company was transitioning into new energy and sustainable development projects. In reality, however, the weapons the company manufactured would absolutely not be sold to outsiders. These weapons were crucial to ensuring their own safety.
Naturally, Tony obeyed Li Qi's orders without question. He nodded firmly, determination showing in his eyes, and immediately set off to carry out the task in secret.
This way, Ta Lo Village would also gain powerful armed protection, like a castle being surrounded by sturdy walls.
