"No! He needs a thorough examination!" Tony immediately refused. The doctor he had called would be there soon.
Besides, that old Nick Fury was truly ruthless. Tony had thought he was capitalist enough, but it turned out the old man knew even more about exploitation than he did.
"No need. I'm pretty much recovered." After saying that, Li Ang floated into the air and moved around a little to prove he was fine.
"You don't need to figure out every detail about superhuman matters."
Seeing that he could not change his mind, Tony reluctantly agreed in the end.
"When do we leave, then?" Nick Fury asked.
"Now!" With that, Li Ang landed, and his hospital gown dissolved into tiny fragments, revealing the previously ruined uniform underneath!
Now the uniform was completely intact, as good as new.
"Wow, that's convenient." Tony's voice was full of envy, along with a little curiosity. "How exactly did you do that?"
"Magic!" Li Ang said with a hint of pride.
The word "magic" gave Tony a headache. "Magic? You might as well tell me the thunder god really exists."
He actually does!
Li Ang smiled and shook his head without speaking. Nick Fury, standing nearby, said, "In that case, let's go. Are you coming along?"
"I still have research to continue." Tony declined.
Though Li Ang's leaves were miraculous, they were no long-term solution. He had his own pride, too!
After leaving the hospital, Li Ang evaded the reporters' interviews and boarded a plane for New Mexico.
That night.
Sparse patches of green vegetation dotted the vast desert.
Rain wove a curtain outside the window, blurring the view.
Beneath the stars, the Quinjet flew through the night sky with only a faint hum.
Soon, the Quinjet landed. Its rear ramp slowly lowered, and Coulson approached to meet them.
He had been assigned here for quite some time.
Below the hillside stood a temporary camp, surrounding a certain object.
"Director Fury actually managed to bring you here!" Coulson looked relieved.
"How should I put it? This is pretty strange. We've tried everything on that hammer, but we can't move it an inch."
As they spoke, Li Ang had already followed Coulson into the facility.
"We called in Agent Barton to protect this place. We've already had more than one group try to sneak in."
Coulson sounded somewhat resigned. There was no shortage of people wanting to join the excitement anywhere, and there were even more here.
As they were talking, Barton's voice came over the earpiece. "Someone's slipped in!"
With his keen hearing, Li Ang naturally heard what came through the earpiece.
He activated his X-Ray Vision and scanned the surroundings, soon spotting a familiar figure inside the wire fence: long blond hair, a full beard, and a burly build.
He crawled through a hole in the wire fence, a foolish grin of triumph on his face.
At that point, text appeared before Li Ang's eyes once again.
The system's voice sounded again, less mechanical than before and a little more lively.
[Mission 10: The king approaches] [Exiled for his impulsiveness and arrogance, Thor does not understand his father's painstaking intentions, while Loki plans to seize this opportunity to take the throne. As a hero, you naturally cannot stand idly by. Help Thor become a true god to earn an extra reward!] [Mission rewards: 10 attribute points, Illusion Spell. Extra reward: Power of Thor (After obtaining the Power of Thor, your lifespan will increase enormously, and your divine power will grow stronger with age.)]
"The Power of Thor?!" Li Ang's eyes lit up. Finally!
It had been ten missions. It was about time a reward came along that could give him a major boost.
Li Ang swallowed, already growing impatient.
As for the Illusion Spell, that was pretty good too, but compared with the extra reward, it fell far short!
As for how to help Thor become a god...
Li Ang rubbed his chin and had a bold idea. If he simply split Thor with the Tiger Talisman, would that complete the mission outright?
He thought it was worth a try.
After all, the Tiger Talisman could directly separate the good and evil within someone.
And Mjolnir's restraining spell on Thor tested his character and his heart.
Hadn't Odin said it himself? Whoever was worthy could obtain the Power of Thor.
When it came to character, who could compare with the good side separated out by the Tiger Talisman?
At that thought, Li Ang gave a wicked grin, making Coulson shudder beside him, an inexplicable chill running down his back.
Generally speaking, nothing good happened when Li Ang wore that smile.
"Tell Barton to hold off. I'll handle it!" Li Ang floated into the air. Seeing this, Coulson smiled and handed him an earpiece.
Li Ang took it, put it on, and floated toward Thor.
Thor, who had already made it inside, knew nothing of this. He had just taken down several guards and was sprinting toward the center.
Even without divine power bolstering them, Asgardians had stronger physiques than humans, not to mention a thousand years of combat experience.
It was no exaggeration to say that Thor was currently a Captain America with slightly lower base stats.
With his X-Ray Vision, Li Ang quickly found Thor, who was locked in a fierce fight with an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Under the curtain of rain, the pair rolled around in the mud, getting an even coating of yellowish-brown sludge on both sides.
The agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. pulled out a stun baton and jabbed Thor with it. But remember, it was still raining, and both men were soaked. The current hit them both, leaving the two of them jerking uncontrollably as they went, "Uhhh..."
"Having fun?" Li Ang's voice made both men below freeze.
The agent looked up, but before he could speak, Thor punched him in the face!
The agent went down without a fuss, his eyes rolling back as he passed out.
Thor looked at Li Ang hovering in midair, his cape stirring slightly, and his expression grew awkward. "You can fly?"
Weren't Midgardians supposed to be weak? How was there one who could fly?
Looking at Li Ang hovering above him with his arms folded, Thor's thousand years of combat instincts told him this man was dangerous!
"Are you here to stop me?" Thor stared at Li Ang warily.
[Earned Thor's hostility: +3,000 Presence]
The system notification in his ears gave Li Ang another idea. Why not beat him up first and see if I can squeeze out a little more?
The more he thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. Li Ang's eyes lit up, and he fired lasers straight at Thor!
With a swish, Heat Vision swept across the ground, carving two deep furrows. Before Li Ang's eyes had lit up, Thor had already felt the hairs rise on his back and bolted to the side.
His thousand years of combat instincts made him react extremely quickly.
Knowing he was no match for Li Ang now, he wisely ran into a building.
The twisting passages led who knew where. After running inside, Thor looked left and right, gritted his teeth, and ran off in one direction.
Even getting lost inside was better than fighting someone who could fly out there!
Watching Thor run inside, Li Ang smiled faintly.
"Coulson, kill the lights!"
At Li Ang's command, Coulson hurriedly signaled his men to turn off the lights.
With a click, the entire base instantly lost power and plunged into darkness.
Overjoyed, Thor lowered his head and sprinted.
Through the clear glass, he could sense that he was getting closer and closer to his hammer. He just had to get through this corridor.
"Once I get my divine power back, I'll have Heimdall take me home!"
But in the darkness ahead, two points of red light glowed faintly, and Thor stopped short.
In the emergency lighting not far away, a figure slowly emerged from the darkness. The light shone down from above, leaving the upper half of his face entirely hidden in shadow.
