Other Notable Members
- Lu Xuanqing — Lu Chenxing’s grandfather; introduces him to the patriarch. He reaches Qi Refining Seventh Layer before a Wang Household attack destroys his meridians, Dantian, and foundation 8 20 25.
- Lu Changge — Keeper of the scripture pavilion and a Qi Refining cultivator considered a promising candidate for Foundation Establishment 18 20.
- Lu Yunzhao — Lu Chenxing’s mortal father and Lu Xuanqing’s son; first brings the infant to the clan’s cultivation grounds 1 27.
- Zhong Hui — Lu Chenxing’s mother; lives with Lu Yunzhao in Spirit Creek Town 26 27.
Recruitment and Resource Entitlements
- Mortal clansmen receive one Spirit Root test upon turning ten 27.
- Disciples at Qi Refining First through Third Layers initially receive ten Spirit Stones and two pills per month. Support ends after five years or upon advancing beyond Third Layer 7.
- Cultivators outside that allowance must obtain resources through contribution-point missions, spirit farming, medicinal cultivation, or dangerous expeditions 7.
- Cultivation strength generally determines standing more than generational seniority 9.
Territory and Facilities
| Location / Holding | Function and Condition |
|---|---|
| Heavenly Traversal Peak | Cultivator headquarters, containing the main lineage hall and cultivation residences. Rebuilt after the nuclear battle 7 49. |
| Spirit Creek Town | Settlement of the household’s mortal clansmen; close enough for the cultivators to provide protection 26. |
| Scripture pavilion / repository | Holds cultivation methods, general guides, and books that Lu Chenxing copies for Great Xia 11 18. |
| Abandoned Alchemy Chamber | Repurposed by Lu Chenxing as an artifact-refining workspace with a second-tier cauldron 31. |
| Spirit fields and medicinal gardens | Traditional income sources; damaged during the nuclear battle and included in reconstruction work 7 40. |
| Black iron vein | Initially the household’s largest income source, but projected to run dry within three years 7. |
| Mystic Wood Forest revenue share | The Wang Household must deliver half the forest’s monthly output, covering any shortfall below its historical yield 17. |
The household temporarily shelters at the defeated Blazing Yang Sect’s grounds after its own headquarters is devastated. It declines to occupy the three defeated factions’ scattered resource sites because it lacks enough strength to defend them 42.
Economy and Resources
Original Livelihood
The household initially depends on spirit fields, spirit medicines, and its low-grade mineral vein. Declining harvests and the approaching exhaustion of the black iron mine threaten its finances. An attempt to train an alchemist fails because the suitable disciples lack aptitude for alchemy 7.
Trade Through Lu Chenxing
- Initial investment: The elders supply Lu Chenxing with manuals, Spirit Stones, artifacts, pills, and rare cultivation treasures. Much of this material supports Great Xia’s earliest cultivators 9 18 19.
- Artifact sales: Lu Changgeng sells Great Xia-produced Law Artifacts and converts the proceeds into Spirit Stones, refining materials, and knowledge of alchemy, artifact refining, talismans, and formations 22.
- Market precautions: The elders switch to Spirit Spring Market rather than repeatedly selling at the same location, fearing attention from bandit cultivators 30.
- Superior products: Great Xia’s improved Law Artifacts hold about one-third more Spiritual Power than earlier samples. Its later pills and artifacts command higher prices than ordinary local products 30 49.
- Direct household benefits: By Chapter 49, cultivation pills are retained for clan disciples, while other pills and artifacts are sold. One batch yields 2.8 million Spirit Stones; a later transfer brings resources valued at five million Spirit Stones 49.
Mission Reform
- Clan missions shift toward collecting alchemy and artifact-refining materials, replacing much of the earlier emphasis on farming, medicinal cultivation, and beast hunting 49.
- Generous mission rewards preserve competition and require members to contribute rather than simply receive Lu Chenxing’s support 49.
- After rebuilding, the leadership prioritizes using available resources to strengthen members instead of stockpiling them. Cultivators largely remain on Heavenly Traversal Peak to cultivate rather than risk outside expeditions 49.
Defenses and Equipment
Lineage-Protecting Formation
- Original formation: Second-tier mid-grade 34.
- Commissioned upgrade: Second-tier top-grade, intended to delay attackers below Golden Core 34.
- Formation master: Quan Yong’an, a Foundation Establishment Peak specialist from the Treasure Gathering Pavilion 35 36.
- Failure during the attack: Twelve Foundation Establishment enemies shatter the formation before its upgrade is complete 36.
Weapons and Emergency Resources
- Four supreme-grade Spirit Artifacts — Purchased before the allied raid, one for each Foundation Establishment cultivator 35.
- Second-tier supreme-grade spirit talismans — The approved equipment plan provides each senior cultivator with one offensive and one defensive talisman 34 35.
- Treasury reserves — Liquidated to fund stronger weapons and defenses after news of Clear Breeze Temple’s destruction 33 34.
- Great Xia nuclear weapons — Supplied through Lu Chenxing; one destroys the attacking alliance, but also devastates the household’s headquarters and contaminates the surrounding area 39 40 43.
- Mountain-Moving Talismans and storage ring — Used to collect the three defeated factions’ spirit mountains for shipment to Great Xia 42 43.
History
Decline and the Appearance of Lu Chenxing
Before Lu Chenxing’s rise, the Lu Household is a small, financially strained Foundation Establishment lineage. Its leaders avoid a decisive conflict with the stronger Wang Household, having previously withdrawn from the contest over Mystic Wood Forest 7 15.
Lu Xuanqing presents his two-and-a-half-month-old grandson to Lu Changfeng after the infant reaches Qi Refining First Layer. Lu Chenxing identifies himself as a household disciple, and the patriarch promises that the lineage will spare nothing to nurture him. His revealed wood Heavenly Spirit Root prompts an order to spend 200,000 Spirit Stones on a suitable cultivation method 8 9.
The household tightly restricts knowledge of his exceptional development. At one point, only the three Foundation Establishment elders, Lu Changge, Lu Xuanqing, and Lu Chenxing’s parents know about him 20.
Mystic Wood Forest Campaign
Lu Chenxing’s resource needs persuade the elders to abandon their longstanding restraint. Lu Changfeng, Lu Changgeng, and Lu Xuanming launch a surprise attack on the Wang cultivators stationed at Mystic Wood Forest. Wang Haocheng sacrifices himself to allow Wang Zhaoran to escape 15.
The ensuing confrontation ends with the Wang Household agreeing to deliver half the forest’s monthly output. Lu Changfeng avoids outright extermination because the Lu Household cannot yet withstand the attention that would follow. Despite the victory, Wang Haochang’s strange dagger leaves him injured 17.
The feud deepens when a Wang Household attack ruins Lu Xuanqing’s cultivation. Now a Foundation Establishment cultivator and third elder, Lu Chenxing argues against immediate retaliation because the enemy is prepared and casualties remain likely 25 26.
Allied Raid and Retaliation
Rumors of Lu Changfeng’s supposed sword immortal inheritance, followed by reports of lucrative market transactions, attract the Blazing Yang Sect, Divine Fire Gate, and Zhao Household. The three secretly allied bandit-cultivator factions send twelve Foundation Establishment attackers against the household 19 35 36.
With the protective formation broken, Lu Changfeng prepares to hold off the enemy while the others escape. Lu Chenxing instead deploys a nuclear weapon supplied by Great Xia. The attackers are killed, but the household’s encampment is reduced to ruins 36 39 40.
After identifying the attackers through secret-treasure memories, the four Lu Foundation Establishment cultivators retaliate against all three factions. They destroy the Divine Fire Gate first, then eliminate the other two powers and seize their valuables and spirit mountains 39 40 42 43.
Reconstruction and Political Aftermath
The ruined headquarters initially convinces the Wang Household that the Lu lineage has been exterminated. Later reports reveal that it survived and instead destroyed three stronger factions 42 43.
Because the defeated factions belonged to the Crimson Firmament Sect, its second elder, Zhu Chuanxiong, questions Lu Changfeng. The patriarch describes the campaign as self-defense and retaliation, conceals the nuclear weapon behind a claim of ancestral protection, and names Quan Yong’an as a witness to the original attack 48.
Spirit Creek Sect elder Li Kaiyang subsequently promises protection against unjustified action. The household resumes development, restores Heavenly Traversal Peak, and removes radioactive particles through sustained cleanup work and cultivation techniques. Lu Chenxing reaches Foundation Establishment Peak during the ensuing peace 49.
Relationships
- Great Xia — Cross-world resource partner connected through Lu Chenxing. Its cultivation program initially benefits from Lu resources; manufactured artifacts, pills, and nuclear weapons later support the household. The elders do not know the true nature of his supply channel 18 20 34 49.
- Spirit Creek Sect — Direct overlord, receiving tribute in exchange for protection. Li Kaiyang explicitly guarantees support after hearing the household’s account of the allied attack 49.
- Wang Household — Rival and bitter enemy over Mystic Wood Forest. Its tribute agreement does not end the feud, and its later attack on Lu Xuanqing intensifies hostility 17 25.
- Blazing Yang Sect, Divine Fire Gate, and Zhao Household — Secretly allied bandit-cultivator enemies destroyed in retaliation for their joint raid 35 39 42.
- Crimson Firmament Sect — Overlord of the three defeated factions. Publicly investigates the conflict while a concealed scheme against the Lu Household begins within the sect 42 48.
- Treasure Gathering Pavilion — Trusted commercial partner supplying equipment and formation expertise 35.
- Quan Yong’an — Hired formation master and surviving witness to the raid. Lu Changfeng gives him 50,000 Spirit Stones to carry a report to the Spirit Creek Sect when the defense appears hopeless 36 48.
Distinction from the Blue Star Lu Family
- Lu Dahai, Jiang Rumeng, and Lu Chenyu belong to Lu Chenxing’s previous-life family in Great Xia, not the Tianxuan cultivation lineage led by Lu Changfeng 12 14 27.
- Great Xia’s proposal to raise that family into its fifth great aristocratic clan is separate from the Lu Immortal Clan’s advancement in Heavenly River Commandery 14 49.
