Background / History

Fall of the Dragon God

The Dragon God once stood as the Divine Realm’s strongest deity. During the upheaval preceding his downfall, the Time Dragon King and Space Dragon King foresaw the Divine Dragon Realm’s collapse if he created a God Star. Their rebellion led to the Dragon Crown Prince’s death, driving the Dragon God into a frenzy in which he slaughtered the dragons who had betrayed him, including his nine divine sons 3 53.

Severely wounded by the internal conflict, he was attacked by the Five Great God Kings and split into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King. He later suspected that human gods had manipulated the Time and Space Dragon Kings into instigating the rebellion; the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings accepted his explanation when they encountered his surviving consciousness 53.

Surviving Divine Consciousness

A separate fragment containing the Dragon God’s wisdom survived his division. It remained hidden in the Divine Realm, seeking an opportunity to reunite with the Golden Dragon King. Reuniting with the Silver Dragon King was also impossible after she escaped to the Douluo Continent, sealed her Soul Power, and entered a deep sleep. Neither reunion occurred, and the fragment’s divine power steadily deteriorated 3.

Moved by Ye Han’s desire for vengeance, the Dragon God selected him as his inheritor one kun month before their first meeting. He bestowed the Light and Dark Twin Holy Dragons Martial Souls and innate level-twenty Soul Power upon him, then appeared within his Sea of Consciousness after the awakening 3.

Pact with Ye Han

The Dragon God offered his shattered divinity in exchange for completing nine trials and avenging him against the Divine Realm’s gods. Ye Han accepted after securing promises concerning his privacy, emergency protection, and a future relationship with the Silver Dragon King. The Dragon God limited his promised protective interventions to three because of his dwindling power 4.

Although he had once sought reunion with his other selves, he abandoned resurrection as a personal goal. With his wife and children dead, he described revenge as his only unfinished business 4.

Final Inheritance and Legacy

After Ye Han killed the Sea God and completed the ninth trial, the Dragon God expended his remaining divine power to complete the inheritance. His form dissolved into golden light and entered Ye Han’s forehead, raising him to level one hundred and transferring the Dragon God Divinity, divine artifact, and final Soul Ring rewards 194 195.

Ye Han mourned his disappearance and swore to avenge him. He subsequently surpassed the inherited divinity by becoming the God Emperor Chaos Dragon God, killed the Asura God, and entered the Divine Realm to carry out that vow 195 196.

Appearance

  • Form: An enormous Eastern divine dragon, described at his first appearance as ten thousand zhang long 3 53.
  • Scales: Golden, with a mysterious and majestic luster 173.
  • Eyes: Enormous and golden, capable of shining with light when he grants rewards or sends Ye Han out of his Sea of Consciousness 3 4 29.
  • Presence and voice: Exerts overwhelming draconic pressure and speaks in a deep, resonant voice likened to a great bell 3 173.
  • Manifestation: Appears primarily within Ye Han’s Sea of Consciousness, but can project a phantom during interventions 3 27 53.

Personality

The Dragon God is authoritative and deeply vengeful toward the Divine Realm’s gods. He regards their intervention in the dragon race’s internal conflict as exploitation of his weakened state. After losing his family, he places greater importance on securing revenge through a successor than on restoring his own life 4 53.

As Ye Han’s mentor, he alternates solemn instruction with approval, restrained humor, and occasional embarrassment when Ye Han criticizes the incomplete rewards. He emphasizes preparation over reckless reliance on divine assistance, warning Ye Han about both bodily backlash and the danger of attracting the Divine Realm’s attention 7 29 54.

His treatment of his divided selves and children differs sharply. He expresses anger and contempt toward the Silver Dragon King after claiming to have seen her future, yet forgives the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings once they acknowledge that they were manipulated. He entrusts their remaining power to Ye Han while suggesting that his successor might eventually restore them 4 53.

Abilities & Skills

Divine Consciousness and Perception

  • Draws Ye Han’s consciousness into his Sea of Consciousness and returns him to the outside world 3 4.
  • States that he cannot ordinarily see or hear Ye Han’s external activities, but can sense when he is in danger 4.
  • Detects Bibi Dong’s killing intent and deduces that she covets Ye Han’s Dark Sacred Dragon bloodline to advance her Rakshasa inheritance 41 42.
  • Can actively investigate external presences with divine power when requested, identifying Snake Lance and Pufferfish as Titled Douluo 105.
  • Claims to have seen the Douluo World’s future upon entering Ye Han’s mind. Ye Han suspects that he instead accessed the Douluo-related portions of his memories; this remains Ye Han’s interpretation 4.

Divine Intervention

  • Dragon breath: Projects a phantom and unleashes golden dragon breath that destroys Tang Hao’s ring-detonation Great Sumeru Hammer attack and severely injures him 27.
  • Soul Skill reinforcement: Supplies divine power to strengthen Ye Han’s fourth Soul Skill, allowing it to penetrate Bibi Dong’s Sea of Consciousness 44.
  • Defensive manifestation: Effortlessly neutralizes the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ combined divine-level attack within their alternate space 53.
  • Host limitation: Ye Han’s early body can withstand only a demigod-level attack from him. Even that intervention damages Ye Han’s foundation through backlash 27 29.
  • Power limitation: The rescue from the twin Dragon Kings does not count against the three promised interventions, but consumes enough power that he declares himself unable to help again for five years 55.

Three Supreme Treasures

Treasure Functions Initial Limitations
Dragon God Sacred Body Allows Soul Power to grow without obtaining the next Soul Ring; enables instantaneous Soul Ring and Soul Bone absorption 7 10. Initially incomplete, with little immediate physical enhancement. Its Divine Wheel of Life is dormant, damaged, and obstructed; Soul Ring absorption still requires enduring the soul impact 7 10.
Dragon God’s Soul Strengthens imposing presence and enables a Soul Seal that subjects branded targets to persistent subconscious fear 18 29 41. Bestowed as an incomplete fragment rather than its full original form 18 29.
Dragon God’s Spirit Multiplies Ye Han’s soul and spiritual power tenfold; enables telepathic communication with dragon-type Soul Beasts and divine beasts; repairs itself as its bearer grows stronger 29. Initially possesses less than one ten-thousandth of its peak power 29.

Dragon God’s Light

  • A self-created divine skill passed to Ye Han after his compatibility with the three supreme treasures reaches eighty percent 125 126.
  • Dispels evil and wicked thoughts, accelerates living things’ growth, and nourishes or repairs incomplete souls 126.
  • Can heal the Silver Dragon King’s old injuries, making it a central requirement of the eighth trial 173 182.

Dragon God Claw

  • A destructive divine skill previously bestowed upon Di Tian, whose use of it can produce a demigod-level attack 158.
  • Taught directly to Ye Han through an infusion of memories, techniques, and the skill’s underlying principles 173.
  • Compatible with Ye Han’s Chaos Dragon King fusion. Its later development, Chaos Dragon God Claw, kills the Sea God 173 194.

Soul Extraction and Soul Spirits

  • Can extract a soul from a Soul Bone and make it a Soul Spirit, provided the soul remains intact 83.
  • Explains that extracting Xiao Wu’s mother’s soul alone would not resurrect her without a body 83.
  • Awakens a dormant hundred-thousand-year Light Subdragon remnant within Ye Han’s Head Soul Bone, making it his fifth Soul Spirit 80.

Nine Divine Trials

The trials combine compatibility training with the removal of the future Asura God successor’s allies, continental conquest, and direct conflict with the Divine Realm 4 54 82 124 173 187.

Trial Requirements Time Limit Rewards / Outcome
First Join a faction and take a Titled Douluo as master 4. Two and a half days 4. Completed after joining Spirit Hall and becoming Ling Yuan’s student; grants the incomplete Dragon God Sacred Body 7.
Second Add three Soul Rings with a combined age of at least fifteen thousand years 7. Two and a half days 7. Grants the Dark Sacred Domain and Dragon God’s Soul 17 18.
Third Subdue a hundred-thousand-year transformed Soul Beast in Nuoding City as a pet; Ye Han identifies the target as Xiao Wu 18. Two and a half months 18. Grants Dragon God’s Spirit 29.
Fourth Raise compatibility with the three supreme treasures above fifty percent and obtain the opportunity beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 32 53. Two and a half years 32. Grants the Radiant Sacred Domain. During the trial, the twin Dragon Kings’ sacrifice also provides divine-level wings and evolves Ye Han’s Martial Souls 53 54.
Fifth Seize or destroy four Soul Beast allies of the future Asura God successor: the Blue Silver King, Blue Silver Emperor, Titan Giant Ape, and Sky Azure Bull Python 54. Two and a half years 54. The Dragon God later grants two hundred-thousand-year Soul Rings, awakens the fifth Light Subdragon Soul Spirit, and grants the Chaos Dragon King fusion skill 80.
Sixth Raise compatibility above seventy percent; seize or destroy Moonlight Pavilion, Blue Tyrant Academy, and the Four Great Single-Attribute Clans 82. Two and a half years 82. Upgrades the sacred domains into the Radiant Divine Domain and Dark Divine Domain, which can fuse into the Chaos Divine Domain during the Chaos Dragon King fusion 124.
Seventh Raise compatibility above eighty percent; seize or destroy Shrek Academy, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Clear Sky Sect, and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan 124. One kun year 124. Grants each Martial Soul a hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring and teaches Dragon God Claw. The bestowed rings do not raise Ye Han’s Soul Power 173.
Eighth Unify the Douluo Continent, subdue its Soul Beasts over a hundred thousand years old excluding sea beasts, and heal the Silver Dragon King before taking her as a personal pet beast 173. One kun year 173. Evolves the Martial Souls into the Supreme God King-level Light Dragon God and Darkness Dragon God, upgrades their domains, and raises Soul Ring ages 186 187.
Ninth Complete all Soul Rings and Soul Bones, destroy the Sea God inheritance, lure the Sea God into the mortal world, and kill him 187. Two and a half kun years 187. Grants level one hundred, the Dragon God Divinity, full compatibility, two nine-colored hundred-million-year Soul Rings, and the Nine-Colored Dragon God Spear; consumes the Dragon God’s remaining existence 194 195.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Nine-Colored Dragon God Spear — His divine artifact, fashioned from nine of his ribs. It devours power and filters it into its wielder’s Soul Power. Transferred to Ye Han with the final inheritance; it later evolves into the Chaos Dragon God Spear through Ye Han’s own advancement 194 195.

Relationships

  • Ye Han — Chosen inheritor and recipient of his guidance, treasures, protection, and divinity. Their bargain develops into genuine attachment: Ye Han tries to stop his final sacrifice and kneels to swear vengeance after his disappearance 3 4 195.
  • Golden Dragon King — One of his divided selves. The surviving wisdom consciousness initially seeks reunion with him but never finds an opportunity 3.
  • Gu Yuena / Silver Dragon King — His other divided self, who did not inherit the surviving wisdom consciousness. He abandons plans to reunite with her and later makes her healing and subjugation part of Ye Han’s eighth trial 3 4 173.
  • Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King — His sons, slain during the dragon rebellion. He forgives their involvement after explaining his suspicions of manipulation and asks them to sacrifice their remaining Dragon Souls to Ye Han 53.
  • Time Dragon King and Space Dragon King — Instigators of the rebellion against him; he suspects human gods exploited their ambitions to destroy the dragon race from within 53.
  • Wife and Dragon Crown Prince — Deceased family. The Crown Prince’s death precipitates his frenzy, while the loss of his family contributes to his lack of interest in resurrection 4 53.
  • Di Tian — Earlier recipient of Dragon God Claw 158.
  • Gods of the Divine Realm — Targets of his unresolved blood feud and the ultimate enemies against whom he prepares Ye Han 4 53 195.
