Attempt to Rescue Ju Zi

Fire Phoenix Douluo pursued Dai Hao’s group as they prepared to leave the Ming Dou Mountain Range with Ju Zi and Jing Ziyan. Having rushed ahead alone, she confronted the White Tiger Duke without her legion, accused him of breaching the Sun Moon Empire’s defensive line, and demanded Ju Zi’s release. Ju Zi immediately recognized her as “Granny Luan Feng” and greeted her arrival with relief 11.

When Dai Hao refused, she attacked him while directing Phoenix Flame toward Luo Feng’s group to separate them from Ju Zi. Luo Feng extinguished the fire phoenix with his second Soul Skill, River. Her surprise distracted her long enough for Dai Hao to force her back, after which he and Luo Feng launched a coordinated pincer attack 11.

Defeat and Capture

Fire Phoenix Douluo answered the encirclement by deploying a Level 9 Soul Cannon. Initially aimed at Dai Hao, it was redirected upward when Luo Feng summoned Mountain Suppression. Its blast tore away surface rocks but could not stop the descending mountain, which was strengthened ninefold by the Ming Dou Mountain Range’s earth veins and Luo Feng’s system 12.

While she committed her strength to resisting the mountain, Dai Hao shattered her Level 9 defensive screen. The resulting backlash made her cough blood and caused her Soul Power and Martial Soul Avatar to collapse. Luo Feng caught her fall with Quicksand, immobilizing her legs. Before she could deploy a backup Soul Tool, Dai Hao dislocated both shoulders and sealed her meridians. Luo Feng subsequently left her and the other prisoners in his custody 12.

Personality

Fire Phoenix Douluo is forceful and confident in her standing and equipment. She threatens Dai Hao with death and invokes the possibility of another border war when he refuses to surrender Ju Zi. Nevertheless, her concern for Ju Zi leads her to pursue the group without her legion, and she hesitates over withdrawing when faced with two opponents 11.

Her Level 9 Soul Cannon is her greatest source of confidence. When it fails to halt Luo Feng’s mountain, her bravado gives way to disbelief; after her capture, she openly regards him with terror 12.

Phoenix Flame

• Projects flames in the form of a fire phoenix and can attack another group while simultaneously engaging Dai Hao 11.
• Produces enough heat to generate large quantities of steam on contact with Luo Feng’s River, though the water ultimately extinguishes her attack 11.
