Flight from the Star Luo Empire

Zhu Zhuqing was born into the Netherworld Zhu Family and engaged to Dai Mubai, the Star Luo Imperial Family’s second prince. She traveled to Suotuo City seeking him, believing that their reunion offered a chance of survival. Her older sister sent Soul Masters to prevent that meeting and protect her own position 34.

Wounded while fleeing five pursuers with Hell Spirit Cat Martial Souls, Zhu Zhuqing asked Jun Yi and Ning Rongrong for help. Jun Yi incapacitated their Soul King leader using ROOM and frightened the others away. The pair brought her into their carriage, where she introduced herself and promised to repay them 28 29.

In Suotuo City, Jun Yi arranged treatment through the Seven Treasure Chamber of Commerce. A female Auxiliary System Soul Master healed her external injuries completely 29.

Her early cultivation was hindered by her older sister, leaving her with few resources and forcing her to rely largely on her own effort. This also left her constitution weaker than Ning Rongrong's before their immortal-herb enhancements. Bone Douluo later recognizes that reaching rank twenty-seven at eleven years old with rank-seven Innate Soul Power demonstrates unusual diligence and ability 114 121.

Disillusionment with Dai Mubai

At the Rose Hotel, Zhu Zhuqing witnessed Dai Mubai’s fight with Tang San and saw him leave with two women. She withdrew from the crowd, devastated that the fiancé on whom she had pinned her hopes appeared to have abandoned their struggle for survival 33 34.

Jun Yi found her and urged her to cultivate for her own future rather than depend on Dai Mubai. He offered protection but encouraged her to gain enough strength to intimidate her family and enemies herself. Zhu Zhuqing resolved to train until no one could hurt her again 34.

Shrek Academy

Zhu Zhuqing entered Shrek’s admissions process alongside Jun Yi and Ning Rongrong. Her rank twenty-seven Soul Power allowed her to proceed directly to Zhao Wuji’s practical assessment 35 36.

During the test, she attacked Zhao Wuji’s back and coordinated with Xiao Wu. When his first Soul Skill threatened to strike her, Jun Yi used ROOM to relocate her beside Ning Rongrong. Jun Yi subsequently continued the fight until the assessment’s incense burned out 39 40.

After enrollment, Zhu Zhuqing kept her distance from Dai Mubai. She remained close to Ning Rongrong and worried about her safety when she challenged him despite a six-rank Soul Power disadvantage 44 45 46.

Decision to Leave

After Ning Rongrong defeated Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing accompanied her and Jun Yi to Suotuo City. Ning Rongrong explained Soul Tool technology, and Jun Yi gave Zhu Zhuqing several devices for protection 47 48.

Initially conflicted because of her engagement, Zhu Zhuqing agreed to leave Shrek after Ning Rongrong promised to oppose attempts to restrict her freedom. The group briefly considered Skywater Academy before choosing Spirit Hall Academy; Jun Yi reassured Zhu Zhuqing when she doubted her chances of admission 48 49.

Back at Shrek, Zhu Zhuqing confirmed her intended withdrawal to Flender and ignored Dai Mubai’s demand that she stay. His warning that the imperial family and Zhu Family would hunt her down unsettled her, but Jun Yi countered by revealing Ning Rongrong’s standing as Ning Fengzhi’s beloved only daughter 50.

Admission to Spirit Hall Academy

Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong undergo a practical assessment against Hu Liena, with Ning Rongrong supplying strength, speed, and Soul Power buffs. Zhu Zhuqing repeatedly attacks, but Hu Liena easily counters her and uses teasing embraces and close contact to disrupt her responses. Both girls pass once the incense burns out 54.

Hu Liena explains that the assessment measures practical combat experience rather than the ability to defeat the examiner. She praises Zhu Zhuqing's experience and control as an agility-type Soul Master, assuring her that she meets the academy's standards. The group subsequently completes enrollment arrangements, tours the dormitories, and visits the library, where Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong collect romance novels 54 58.

During the entrance ceremony's Soul Fighting, Zhu Zhuqing defeats a rank-twenty-six opponent with a turtle Martial Soul. Although Netherworld Hundred Claws cannot break his shell, her repeated strikes drive him out of the arena. She later enters the final arena match alongside Jun Yi and accepts his instruction to leave the fighting to him 68 74.

Immortal Herbs and Rejection of the Marriage Contract

Jun Yi helps Zhu Zhuqing absorb two immortal herbs, including Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, whose attributes do not closely match hers. He regulates their medicinal power through ROOM, allowing her to absorb it fully. She awakens with greater Soul Power and a taller body 114.

Bone Douluo accompanies Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Jun Yi into the Star Dou Great Forest to obtain new Soul Rings. Zhu Zhuqing first absorbs a three-thousand-year Shadow Leopard ring, after which her stored medicinal power raises her to rank forty. She then absorbs an eight-thousand-year Ghost Tiger ring and becomes a rank-forty-two Soul Ancestor 121 122.

On their departure, the group encounters Shrek's students. Dai Mubai claims that her father has authorized him to take her back to Star Luo, but Bone Douluo intervenes. Zhu Zhuqing displays her four Soul Rings and declares that their engagement is only a worthless piece of paper, rejecting both Dai Mubai and attempts to control her through her family 122 123.

After Jun Yi explains Xiao Wu's identity as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit, Zhu Zhuqing suggests that she could have been captured and kept until Ning Rongrong could absorb her ring. She regards transformed Soul Beasts as Soul Beasts rather than humans, a view that troubles Ning Rongrong 123 124.

Return to Star Luo and Severance from Her Father

Zhu Zhuqing returns to Star Luo City on leave after receiving a letter from her mother saying that she misses her. There she reunites with Jun Yi, who is traveling under the masked identity Yi Jun, and invites him to her family home. His presence brings out a noticeably cheerful and affectionate side of her 203 204.

When Zhu Zhuyun insults Jun Yi, Zhu Zhuqing grabs her by the throat, overpowers her, and warns her not to insult him again. She subsequently reveals her rank-forty-three Soul Ancestor cultivation and tells her sister that she has no intention of competing to become empress. Her other purpose in returning is to end her engagement to Dai Mubai 205 206.

At the imperial palace, the Star Luo Emperor formally dissolves her engagement to Dai Mubai, only to announce that she will instead be betrothed to Dai Weisi. Her father has already agreed despite her objection. Jun Yi intervenes, revealing that she is Chrysanthemum Douluo Yue Guan's personal disciple, but the emperor still attempts to impose the marriage 208 209.

Zhu Zhuqing severs her father-daughter relationship, leaves three hundred thousand Gold Soul Coins as repayment for her upbringing, and declares that she is returning the surname Zhu. Jun Yi fights through the opposition and teleports away with her. Although determined to leave, she is deeply hurt by her father's decision and her mother's inability to intervene 209 211 212.

Snow Empress and Mist Grand Canyon Training

During the Snow Empress's sacrifice, Jun Yi separates her consciousness from the resulting Soul Ring and divides her power into portions that Zhu Zhuqing's body can withstand. Zhu Zhuqing absorbs one Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, reaches rank fifty-four, and gains the Snow Empress as a Soul Spirit. In gratitude and affection, she kisses Jun Yi 215 216.

Zhu Zhuqing accompanies Jun Yi in the Mist Grand Canyon and resolves to remain with him for two years, having informed her teacher of her plans. Her training includes lethal combat, and she becomes increasingly accustomed to killing enemies who threaten them 223.

When they find Yan and Xie Yue struggling against two Evil Soul Masters capable of a Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Zhu Zhuqing offers to fight alone. She uses her fifth Soul Ring to appear behind the fused enemy, freeze it, and sever its head, ending the battle in a single exchange 224 225.

Return to Spirit Hall and Divine Selection

After two years, Zhu Zhuqing returns to Spirit City and reunites with Ning Rongrong. Three substitutes object to Xie Yue reserving a starting position for her, but withdraw their challenge when she reveals six Soul Rings, including two red Hundred-Thousand-Year rings. She then asks to visit her teacher before resuming team training 232.

Bibi Dong examines her progress and offers to take her as a disciple. Zhu Zhuqing politely refuses, declaring that she will remain loyal to Yue Guan and will not take another master. Remaining with Spirit Hall also provides protection against pursuit from the Star Luo Imperial Family and Netherworld Zhu Family 233 234.

While Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo are guiding her training, blue divine light enters her brow and leaves her unconscious. After awakening, she reports increased spiritual power and summons a three-colored triangular artifact. Guided by the Snow Empress, she conceals its method of use. Bibi Dong concludes that she has been chosen by a god 247.

Qian Daoliu recognizes her as Spirit Hall's young provisional elder and asks about Zhu Ao, whom Zhu Zhuqing identifies as her great-great-grandfather. Qian Daoliu recalls having known and drunk with him in his youth 248.

Tournament Team and Battles

Zhu Zhuqing accompanies Yue Guan when the Pope sends Soul Masters to protect tournament contestants. She reunites with Jun Yi, worries over his weakened appearance, and formally meets Dugu Yan. After unsuccessfully finding the cause herself, she asks her teacher to examine him 274.

She later trains with Spirit Hall's tournament team in a coordinated victory over a Soul Douluo. Xie Yue and Hu Liena use their Martial Soul Fusion Skill to protect her when the opponent targets her. After Jun Yi reveals his changed appearance, she embraces him and affirms that her feelings for him will not change 346.

Against Shrek Academy, Zhu Zhuqing dismisses its students as too weak and evades their opening crossbow attack. When Tang San later feigns unconsciousness and launches the Peacock Plume, the Snow Empress warns her of the deception. Zhu Zhuqing intercepts him, overpowers him, and throws him out of the arena, while her Level Five Defensive-Type Soul Tool blocks the hidden weapons. Spirit Hall Academy wins the match 349 350 355.

She subsequently fights Dugu Yan, repeatedly gaining the advantage through her speed, shadow attacks, and freezing power. Dugu Yan counters with a speed-enhancing right leg Soul Bone, but the duel continues until Jun Yi intervenes. Zhu Zhuqing then spars with Jun Yi using her ice-crystal sword and sixth-ring abilities, culminating in Emperor Sword: Ice Extreme Peerless 362 363 364.

Sea God Trials and Ascension

Zhu Zhuqing later accompanies Jun Yi and Dugu Yan into Hell Road after he restores Slaughter City. Jun Yi subsequently offers each woman three of his Soul Rings to improve their strength and potential for God Trials; Zhu Zhuqing initially worries about the cost to his own power 401 406.

On Sea God Island, she draws the Sea God Trident and passes the Seventh Trial. The Sea God grants her the artifact's recognition and raises her affinity to eighty-five percent. Bo Saixi confirms that she and Dugu Yan may leave the island, and the two plan to reunite with Jun Yi 424.

In battle against the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, Zhu Zhuqing and Dugu Yan combine Sea God and Water God abilities, striking with the Sea God Trident and Heavenly Wave Water God Spear. Their attack tears the whale apart but leaves both women gravely injured. Divine power reconstructs their enemy as a god-level blue dragon, and Bo Saixi refuses to endanger Sea God Island by rescuing them 500.

Zhu Zhuqing subsequently completes her God Trial and becomes the true Sea God. Her three black and six red Soul Rings dissolve into seven azure God Rings as she merges with the Sea God Godhood. Jun Yi then prepares to help her adjust to her divine power. After Dugu Yan receives the Water God Godhood, Zhu Zhuqing accompanies her to inform Dugu Bo 502 503.

Later Family Confrontation and Divine War

During the Star Luo Empire's collapse, Zhu Zhuqing remains in contact with her mother and arranges to take her and her elder sister away. At her mother's request, she also offers her estranged father a lifetime of peace and safety if he leaves Star Luo. He refuses, choosing to remain and fight Ning Fengzhi 584 585 586.

She asks whether he regrets his past decisions. He answers that he regrets failing to keep her in Star Luo City, and she leaves after warning him about his fate. He subsequently leads an army against Ning Fengzhi, who sends the newly ascended gods Gui Mei and Yue Guan to oppose him 586.

At Jialing Pass, Zhu Zhuqing fights alongside Dugu Yan against the surviving First-Level Gods. Their combined Water God Slash and Unfixed Storm break the six remaining gods' defenses and leave them unable to continue fighting. Supported and restored by Dugu Yan's Water God Blessing, Zhu Zhuqing then restrains the Destruction God King with Unfixed Storm, allowing the Ice Dragon King to strike him 599.

Planned Journey to Another World

Zhu Zhuqing later reunites with Jun Yi and Bibi Dong. Jun Yi offers to take them to the world where he and Bibi Dong first pledged their love, also bringing his disciple Li Murong. Zhu Zhuqing gives Li Murong a Soul Tool as the group prepares for the journey 634.

Personality

Zhu Zhuqing has a cool temperament without being unapproachable. She accepts Ning Rongrong’s enthusiasm and quickly grows close to her. Considerate and reluctant to inconvenience others, she initially declines further medical treatment and rises quietly at dawn to cultivate without disturbing her sleeping roommate 29 31.

Her discipline contrasts with her insecurity about her talent. She trains diligently, yet worries that rank-seven Innate Soul Power may not qualify her for Spirit Hall Academy. Jun Yi’s example and encouragement strengthen her belief that effort can change her circumstances 31 36 49.

Her attitude toward Dai Mubai shifts from desperate hope to open rejection. Although threats involving her family still frighten her, she chooses to accompany her friends rather than remain at Shrek because of her engagement 34 48 50.

As her strength and independence grow, she becomes openly defiant toward attempts to control her marriage. She rejects Dai Mubai's claims over her and ultimately severs ties with her father rather than accept another imposed engagement. This resolve does not erase her attachment to her family: the rupture leaves her deeply distressed, and she later offers her father protection for her mother's sake 123 209 212 585.

She is fiercely protective of Jun Yi and increasingly demonstrative in her affection. She threatens Zhu Zhuyun for insulting him, experiments with romantic behavior learned from storybooks, and eventually initiates a passionate kiss. Around him, her normally cold demeanor can become cheerful, playful, and openly affectionate 203 205 207 216.

Loyalty to her chosen bonds outweighs opportunities for advancement. She refuses Bibi Dong's offer of discipleship because she has already accepted Yue Guan as her master, despite the status and prospects that becoming the Pope's disciple could bring 234.

She can be pragmatic and ruthless toward perceived enemies. She initially views even human-form Soul Beasts as potential Soul Rings, and her Mist Grand Canyon training develops her composure in lethal combat. Her swift killing of the Evil Soul Masters leaves her outwardly calm 124 223 225.

Snow Empress Soul Spirit

The Snow Empress has six hundred and ninety thousand years of cultivation when Jun Yi preserves her consciousness during the sacrifice. Because Zhu Zhuqing can initially withstand only a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, he divides the available ring power into four such portions 215 216.
