Background / History

Bibi Dong is the daughter of Bi Gan, the Death God Douluo. As a child, she received a jade pendant from him bearing the character “Bi” and an image of a Death Spider Emperor. It remained her only keepsake from her father until she passed it to Yu Tianling 50.

She has a daughter, Qian Renxue, with Spirit Hall's previous pope, Qian Xunji. Qian Renxue operates undercover as the Heaven Dou Empire's crown prince, Xue Qinghe; her relationship with Bibi Dong is deeply strained 29 30.

Before the main events, Bibi Dong entered Slaughter City alone and escaped after enduring extreme danger. Remembering that isolated period makes her particularly anxious when her disciples decide to enter the city themselves 47.

As Supreme Pontiff, she harbors intense hostility toward the Elder Hall and the Upper Three Sects. Her ambitions extend beyond Spirit Hall: she openly declares her intention to become the sole sovereign of both Heaven Dou and Star Luo 3 13.

Her hatred of the Elder Hall and Upper Three Sects is fierce, but she rapidly restores her outward composure 3 6.

She is attentive to exceptional talent and willing to invest personally in it. After discovering Yu Tianling's twin Martial Souls and their potential fusion, she gives him daily instruction, commissions archival research, and plans his long-term Soul Ring development 6 9.

Her treatment of those under her protection is markedly warmer. She regards Yu Tianling as her own son, promises Zhu Zhuqing protection against her family, and worries openly about the party's journey to Slaughter City. Despite those fears, she respects their decision to leave 32 47 50.

Recruiting the Holy Son

Bibi Dong orders Gui Mei to bring Yu Tianling to Spirit City after receiving reports of his innate full soul power and top-tier Beast Martial Soul. Her examination exposes his twin Martial Souls and their ability to fuse temporarily. She accepts him as her disciple, names him Holy Son, and establishes a schedule of academy theory lessons followed by personal afternoon training 3 6.

The appointment later faces a challenge from Qian Daoliu, who introduces a Holy Son trial. Yu Tianling prepares intensely to uphold Bibi Dong's dignity and secures the Elder Hall's unanimous approval 14.

Supporting a Divine Inheritor

After Yu Tianling returns from Sunset Forest, Bibi Dong confirms his godhood inheritance and promises Spirit Hall's full backing. He conceals the God King of Equality's involvement, leaving her unable to reconcile his First-Level inheritance with her knowledge of the God of War 32.

She subsequently becomes the opponent in his fifth divine trial. His narrow victory under the six-Soul-Skill restriction earns him the God of War Domain 33.

Slaughter City and Her Father's Discovery

Bibi Dong reluctantly permits Yu Tianling, Hu Liena, and Zhu Zhuqing to depart for Slaughter City. Her own experience there informs her concern, and she remains puzzled by Yu Tianling's refusal to wait until he is stronger 47.

Inside the city, the three find Bi Gan. The pendant Bibi Dong entrusted to Yu Tianling reveals their connection. After Bi Gan collapses, Yu Tianling proposes a dangerous attempt to counter his long-standing poison with the Snow Swan Kiss; the treatment's outcome is not shown 50.
