Background / History
Life Before Her Resurrection
Ah Yin lived for many years as Blue Silver Grass in the Star Dou Great Forest. Her home was Blue Silver Forest, where an eighty-thousand-year Blue Silver King remained deeply loyal to her. Ah Rou’s advice influenced her decision to take human form 33 35 70 76.
After entering human society, she spent much of her time in a village. Meeting Tang Xiao and Tang Hao led her to travel more widely, although fear of exposing her Soul Beast identity kept her from freely exploring major cities. She eventually married Tang Hao and bore a child, then sacrificed herself to him during Qian Xunji’s pursuit 32 33 104.
Revival and Loss of Trust
Na’er discovered Ah Yin’s surviving plant body in a dark cave with barren soil and brought her to Luo Chen. He absorbed her through the Celestial Star Crown, restored her damaged consciousness, and reconstructed her as an innate Aspect. Ah Yin accepted the bond out of gratitude and initially wished only to confirm that Tang Hao and her child were safe 32 33.
Luo Chen then shared his knowledge of Tang San’s transmigration. Ah Yin came to reject Tang San as her son, regarding him as a stranger occupying her child’s body. However, Luo Chen explicitly admitted that he did not know what had happened to the original child’s soul; possession and destruction of that soul were not established facts 34.
Learning where Tang Hao had planted her surviving body shook her trust further. Na’er also presented a theory that he had engineered her sacrifice to obtain her Soul Ring, but Ah Yin initially preferred not to investigate rather than risk confirming it 35 36.
A New Family in the Astral Realm
Accompanying Na’er through an avatar, Ah Yin visited the cave and followed her bloodline connection to Tang San. She witnessed Tang Hao neglecting the infant and feeding him scalding porridge. Because Tang Hao did not know about Tang San’s transmigration, she interpreted his conduct as indifference toward their own child 43.
Luo Chen and Na’er comforted her and welcomed her as family, declaring the Astral Realm her home. Ah Yin stopped visiting the Tang father and son and devoted herself to supporting Luo Chen, including daily searches for natural treasures 43.
Her expeditions later helped uncover valuable materials and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. After discovering that some collected treasures had come from other people’s stores, Luo Chen instructed her and Na’er not to take clearly owned property 54 123.
Reunion with Tang Hao
In Heaven Dou City, Ah Yin initially concealed her face to avoid complications for Luo Chen. Tang Hao nevertheless recognized her. She explained that Mount Targon had saved her and rebuilt her body, and that she had joined the sect in repayment 113 116.
Tang Hao refused to accept her decision, insisting that she belonged to the Clear Sky Sect. Ah Yin openly denied having joined it, affirmed her loyalty to Mount Targon, and told Tian Meng that she wanted no further involvement with him or Tang San 116 117.
Although she allowed Tian Meng to fight Tang Hao, Ah Yin could not bring herself to seek his death. She withdrew into Luo Chen’s Martial Soul Space, where he promised to spare him. After Luo Chen left Tang Hao with injuries that would progressively erode his cultivation, Ah Yin accepted the punishment as taking back the power he had gained through her sacrifice 118 119.
Appearance
- Human form: Appears about eighteen or nineteen, with blue hair, snow-white skin, deep-blue crystalline eyes, and a noble, elegant bearing 33.
- Usual clothing: A long blue-and-gold dress with golden ribbons curling around the skirt; she can form clothing from Soul Power 33.
- Original plant body: Blue Silver Grass emitting a deep-blue glow, distinguished by faintly flowing golden patterns 32.
- Travel avatar: A small, chibi-like figure glowing with azure starlight, carried by Na’er’s silver-dragon Dawn Avatar 43.
- Disguise: Wears a veil made from Tian Meng’s silk while concealing her identity in Heaven Dou City 113.
Personality
Ah Yin is gentle, grateful, and nurturing, but initially tends to defer to those she loves. Luo Chen describes her as having little independence, while her earlier devotion to Tang Hao had narrowed her concerns around his needs. After losing faith in her former family, she redirects much of her maternal affection toward Luo Chen 33 35 36.
Her kindness does not amount to unconditional pacifism. She accepts self-defense and the practical reality of Soul Masters hunting Soul Beasts, while opposing indiscriminate slaughter. Her hatred of Tang San can become intense, but she restrains herself to avoid causing trouble for Luo Chen 34 116.
She remains reluctant to kill Tang Hao even after rejecting him. Likewise, she would surrender an opportunity to become a God King to another Aspect rather than compete for it. Luo Chen identifies this lack of unwavering personal ambition as an obstacle to her independently reaching that realm 118 151.
