| Great Emperor | 2 | Attained the Dao within 300 years after emerging from the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, following victories over the imperial scions of every race and his journey along the Starry Sky Ancient Road. By the story’s opening, he has held this attainment for nearly 10,000 years. |
Background / History
Lin Hao is a transmigrator born with golden Double Pupils. Approximately ten thousand years before the story, he emerged from the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land and began a rise through the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands. He traversed the Starry Sky Ancient Road, defeated the imperial scions of the various races, and became a Great Emperor within three hundred years 2.
During his early career, he entered the Jade Lake Holy Land intending to steal the Western Emperor Scripture. Tantai Guyue pursued him and struck him with a palm attack—an encounter they later recall teasingly as consorts. He also brought the black dog known as Black Empress out of Purple Mountain; the dog helped him considerably before his imperial attainment 28 49.
After becoming an emperor, Lin Hao founded humanity’s Heavenly Court and received the honorific Heavenly Emperor Hao from the myriad races. He personally forged White Jade Capital as both a traveling palace and a weapon of war 1 2.
His rule also involved cultivating loyal subordinates. He saved the orphaned Jiang Wanwan and Jiang Xiaoxiao from starvation on a snowy night and later nurtured them into Immortal Platform Realm experts. Other personally cultivated followers became the backbone of Heavenly Court’s administration 38 39.
Appearance
Lin Hao has a youthful, exceptionally handsome face despite his long life. His expression and bearing retain the weathered depth of someone who has witnessed many ages 1 28.
- Hair: Frost-white or silver, falling to his shoulders 1 28.
- Eyes: Golden Double Pupils, described with visions of universes arising and perishing and rivers of stars collapsing 1.
- Clothing: Moon-white robes 23 28.
- Bearing: His presence naturally draws attention; Tang Wulin describes him as surpassing a Banished Immortal 28.
Personality
Lin Hao combines imperial confidence with a refusal to become complacent. Although he stands at the pinnacle of his world, his knowledge of higher realms and the Weird Plateau drives him to seek greater power. He rejects the idea of leaving his survival to future figures such as Shi Hao or Ye Fan 23.
He is calculating toward enemies. Rather than immediately renewing his lifespan, he allows his declining vitality to tempt the ancient beings of the Life Forbidden Zones into exposing themselves. His response to their scouts is calm and lethal, followed by a direct challenge to their masters 1 28 29.
With his companions, he is affectionate and playful. His interest in the system’s longevity rewards stems partly from concern that his beloved companions cannot endure the passing years as he can. His treatment of Guyue and his banter with Black Empress contrast sharply with his severity toward hostile powers 2 28 49.
His restraint is selective rather than gentle. He supports a punitive campaign described as killing seven in ten, yet chooses not to interfere with Ye Fan’s development because he believes hardship is necessary for Ye Fan’s eventual rise 40 49.
Abilities & Skills
Double Pupils
Lin Hao’s innate Double Pupils support destructive, perceptive, and time-related techniques 1 2 49.
- Destruction Precious Technique: Produces annihilating black light. He directs it into his own sea of consciousness to erase the system’s sentience while deliberately preserving its basic functions 2.
- Existence erasure: A glance reduces the Primordial Ancient Mine’s scouts to dust, then to particles, before removing them without a remaining trace 29.
- Time manipulation: Slows the passage of time upon his beloved companions. This delays aging but does not permanently solve their lifespan limitations 2.
- Perception: Allows him to investigate the Three-Life Bronze Coffin and glimpse fragmented visions of worlds, eras, and the river of time 49.
- Limits: His repeated examinations of the coffin fail to yield higher Dao principles. He attributes the obscurity to remaining at the mortal pinnacle without having entered the immortal path 49.
Great Emperor Power
As the present age’s sole Great Emperor, Lin Hao possesses power far beyond the Douluo World’s established scale 1 2.
- The narration states that he could destroy the entire Douluo Continent with a single glance 2.
- He considers himself capable of fighting the Undying Heavenly Emperor using his Double Pupils Treasure Technique; this is his assessment, not a documented victory 23.
- His divine sense and voice reach across the void into the Primordial Ancient Mine 29.
- He can vanish with a single step and take another being with him, as demonstrated when leaving White Jade Heavenly Street with Black Empress 23 29.
Sword Dao
- His heavenly waterfall of Sword Qi stands outside White Emperor City. Chen Xin judges the sword intent within even one drop to exceed the realm he has pursued throughout his life 26 47.
- Di Tian doubts that even the Silver Dragon King at her peak could defeat that waterfall; this remains an observer’s judgment 47.
Fortune Cultivation
- Uses the Haotian Realm’s rules of fortune to nurture experts personally loyal to him, including Jiang Wanwan and Jiang Xiaoxiao 39.
- By Ji Ziyi’s report, seventy to eighty percent of the world’s fortune has gathered in Heavenly Court and merged into the Haotian Realm 23.
- Recognizes purple fortune as a sign of Heavenly Dao favor and orders special attention and suitable resources for the woman discovered by Jiang Wanwan 23.
Artifact Forging
- Personally forged White Jade Capital, using Xuanhuang Mother Qi for its foundations and melted stars for its walls. Its bridges overlook fragments of time and rivers of stars formed from Dao laws 1.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- White Jade Capital — Heavenly Court’s floating weapon of war and Lin Hao’s traveling palace 1.
- Haotian Realm — A muted black-gold, dragon-carved ring worn on his index finger. It receives Heavenly Court’s gathered fortune, and its rules help him cultivate subordinates 23 39.
- White Tiger Divine Medicine — An immortal medicinal plant shaped like a three-inch white tiger. Lin Hao states that consuming it would let him live a second lifetime and extend his imperial lifespan by at least ten thousand years; he deliberately sets it aside 1.
- Disciple and Concubine System — Binds to him after detecting dimensional fluctuations, mistakenly identifying his world as Douluo Continent. He removes its sentience but retains basic conversation and reward distribution. He considers modifying its targets to obtain longevity rewards for his companions; no completed modification is documented 1 2.
Relationships
- Tantai Guyue — Consort and former pursuer from Jade Lake Holy Land. She oversees Heavenly Court’s affairs during his absence, and their relationship includes affectionate teasing about his attempted scripture theft 2 49.
- Ji Ziyi — Imperial consort and Ji Family genius. She reports on fortune gathering and discusses his continued pursuit of strength 23.
- Black Empress — An old friend whom he brought out of Purple Mountain. The dog aided him before he became an emperor and claims to have acted as his matchmaker. Lin Hao hopes to contact the dog’s master through him 23 28.
- Jiang Wanwan and Jiang Xiaoxiao — Rescued orphans and devoted subordinates. They regard him as both emperor and lifesaving benefactor 38 39.
- Zhu Zhuqing — A newcomer to Heavenly Court whose purple fortune attracts his attention through Ji Ziyi’s report. He orders that she receive care and resources if worthy of cultivation; she becomes visibly captivated upon seeing him 23 28.
- Gai Jiuyou — A defeated opponent whom Lin Hao greatly admires. He recruits Gai with information about the Road to Immortality and Red Dust Immortals, later trusting him to help guard against the Primordial Ancient Mine 38 49.
- Undying Heavenly Empress — A powerful Heavenly Court member whom he trusts, alongside Gai Jiuyou, to hold off hostile Ancient Supremes until his return 49.
- Ruthless Empress — Described as sharing a special friendship with him, which helps facilitate his access to the Three-Life Bronze Coffin 49.
- Undying Heavenly Emperor — A concealed adversary Lin Hao intends to eliminate, potentially with help from Black Empress’s master 1 28.
- Ye Fan — A future Heavenly Emperor whose importance Lin Hao knows through his knowledge of the original novel. He intends to observe Ye Fan’s departure without interfering in his growth 49.
- Dai Mubai — A self-declared rival who resents Zhu Zhuqing’s admiration for Lin Hao and later finds himself imprisoned by Heavenly Court 28 41 44.
Story Role / Major Arcs
System Arrival and Forbidden-Zone Bait
- At the opening, Lin Hao withholds the White Tiger Divine Medicine and uses the prospect of his approaching death to lure ancient enemies out of the Life Forbidden Zones 1.
- When the system binds to him, he neutralizes its sentience before investigating its usefulness. Its longevity rewards offer a possible alternative to eventually sealing his aging companions in Divine Source 2.
Revelation to Douluo Continent
- The sky-screen audience learns his name from the stele on Burial Heaven Island. Gu Yuena speculates about his connection to its time distortion, but the scene does not establish that he stands beyond time 15 16.
- His appearance in White Emperor City captivates Zhu Zhuqing and numerous viewers, while provoking jealousy from Tang San, Oscar, and Dai Mubai 27 28.
- He erases scouts watching from the stars and tells the Corpse Emperor and Golden Ancient Emperor to come personally next time. Several Douluo viewers fail to recognize that his casual glance was an attack 29.
Conflict with the Primordial Ancient Mine
- After a Supreme sends subordinates to probe White Emperor City, Tantai Guyue announces that Heavenly Court will march against the Primordial Ancient Mine in one month 39.
- Lin Hao’s order to kill seven in ten divides the Douluo audience. Some condemn him as a tyrant, while Bibi Dong admires the authority and confidence behind the decision 40.
Journey to Witness the Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin
- Having repeatedly failed to unravel the Three-Life Bronze Coffin, Lin Hao decides to observe whether it reacts differently upon encountering Ye Fan 49.
- He prepares to leave for several days to slightly over a month, entrusting Heavenly Court’s administration to Guyue and its immediate defense to Gai Jiuyou and the Undying Heavenly Empress 49.
- He deliberately leaves Ye Fan’s destined journey undisturbed, believing the era needs Ye Fan to overcome its enemies through his own growth 49.
