Ziwei Sect Legacy

In antiquity, Great Emperor Ziwei wielded the bell to suppress evil and protect the world. At the end of antiquity, the Underworld allied with several other powers to destroy the Ziwei Sect. Three supreme elders sacrificed their lives to send the bell’s core into the Bottomless Abyss, preserving an inheritance for a future successor 228 254.

Heavenly Melody Valley’s founder, formerly a guardian elder of the Ziwei Sect, escaped with a fragment that served as one key to the inheritance. The other key was the Taiyin Physique, possessed by the Ziwei Sect’s last master. According to the inheritance, only that physique could awaken the bell’s true might 228.

Rediscovery and Restoration

Heavenly Melody Valley searched for fragments for centuries before Luo Qingyin accompanied the Snow Empress into the Bottomless Abyss. The bell drew both women into its ruined palace, where they awakened it and received the surviving Ziwei inheritance 227 228.

The partially restored bell became central to their victory over Earth Venerable. It helped break the Myriad Yin Formation, sealed and attacked his Life-Bound Ghost Avatar, and delivered the final blow that annihilated his soul. Afterward, the Snow Empress used its guidance to begin recovering the remaining fragments 230 231 232 233.

The search led through an ancient valley, the Qingyin Secret Realm, and the Kunlun Secret Realm. Its final fragment fused with the main body during the battle against General Black Fiend in the Kunlun Ruins. The Snow Empress subsequently presented the fully repaired artifact to Daoist Kunlun and his elders 235 237 240 243 247.

Conflict with the Underworld

The Underworld repeatedly sought the bell to assist in refining the Ten Thousand Yin Banner and awakening an ancient evil god. Its restoration prompted Black Impermanence’s attacks on the Snow Empress and the Kunlun Sect. During the sect’s defense, the bell channelled the righteous cultivators’ combined strength to destroy his empowered Netherworld Ghost Hand and gravely wound him; Xuanjizi later stopped his attempted self-destruction 248 254 255.

Xuanjizi revealed that the bell concealed an ancient secret that might completely suppress the evil god, but uncovering it required three ancient supreme treasures. The Snow Empress later began fusing the bell’s imperial might with the White Tiger Token’s righteous Qi and the Azure Dragon Jade Pendant’s Azure Dragon power on Penglai Immortal Island 255 277.

• On rediscovery, the bell transports the Snow Empress and Luo Qingyin into the inheritance palace through a beam of purple light 228.

Imperial Techniques and Inner Voice

The bell serves as a medium for Ziwei techniques and deeper communion with imperial Dao power 231 253 257.

• A voice within the bell instructs the Snow Empress to awaken the Ziwei Emperor Soul. She suspects it is a remnant soul of Great Emperor Ziwei, but this identification is not confirmed 257.
• Awakening the Emperor Soul allows her to sense the bell’s power and runes in close resonance, as though she has become one with it 258.

Requirements and Limits

• Physique compatibility: The Ziwei inheritance identifies the Taiyin Physique as necessary to awaken the bell’s true might 228.
• Wielder-dependent output: Physical restoration does not grant automatic mastery. The Snow Empress’s cultivation and comprehension initially prevent her from drawing out its deeper imperial Dao power 253.
