Arc 56The Fool’s Long Slumber

Klein gathered allies and prepared for the battle over The Fool’s Uniqueness, then became The Fool after defeating the Lord of Mysteries’ resurrection and driving Amon away. Knowing the Celestial Worthy still threatened to awaken within him, Klein entered a long slumber while entrusting the Tarot Club with protecting the world and his return.

  • Klein collected Dreamweaver materials, gave Audrey the characteristic and formula, made arrangements with Xio and Reinette Tinekerr, and ventured into Calderón City to gather water from the River of Eternal Darkness.
  • The Evernight Goddess explained the seal trapping the sefirot and warned Klein about the stakes of the conflict, while Klein gave Will Auceptin a birthday coin and Alger the Sea God Scepter.
  • Klein borrowed Bernadette’s Wishing Lamp, prepared for the battle, stole his undigested characteristic through an avatar, and entered Antigonus’s dream to take The Fool’s Uniqueness.
  • As Klein tried to accommodate the Uniqueness, Amon attacked his anchors and the gods fought to protect the world barrier, and Klein separated his identities, restored his Attendant of Mysteries characteristics, and became The Fool.
  • The Evernight Goddess used the River of Eternal Darkness and her twilight sword to suppress the Lord of Mysteries’ awakening, allowing Klein to complete his advancement while the Wishing Lamp and Trunsoest Brass Book hindered Amon.
  • Klein fought Amon inside Sefirah Castle, using Fooling, Blind Stupidity, and a supernova to defeat him, but Amon’s characteristics converged with Klein and stirred the Celestial Worthy’s will.
  • The Evernight Goddess placed Klein’s awakening will and most of his consciousness into temporary sleep, and Klein returned the Wishing Lamp, met the Tarot Club, and assigned its members tasks to protect the world and prepare for his return.
  • Klein told the Tarot Club he would enter a long slumber, sent Azik a letter, watched memories gather around the long table, released the people suspended above the Door of Light, and entered the bluish-black fog.
Chapters 1383–1407 Vol. 14 Read

Ch. 1383Arrangements

Klein destroyed the Garden of Eden, gave Audrey the Dreamweaver materials, and offered Xio a Law Mage advancement in exchange for helping awaken Mr. Fool if he fell asleep. He arranged to help locate targets for the planned campaign against the Rose School of Thought, visited Sharron and Maric, and ended up outside Calderón City after completing three treatments.

  • Klein took Bailey Delair's Dreamweaver characteristic and supplementary ingredients, then left the Garden of Eden as it collapsed into the Sea of Collective Subconscious.
  • Klein gave Audrey the Dreamweaver characteristic, ingredients, and potion formula, and told her she could reconsider before advancing.
  • Klein offered Xio the Law Mage materials in exchange for following Mr. Fool's oracle and attempting to awaken him if he fell asleep; Xio accepted.
  • Xio told Klein that Wendel had returned from Utopia confused and worried, and Klein said the people there had been buried in a natural disaster.
  • Klein met Reinette Tinekerr and offered to use directly connected objects to locate targets for the planned operation against the Rose School of Thought.
  • Klein played cards with Maric and his living corpses while Sharron watched, then appeared outside Calderón City after completing three treatments.

Ch. 1384Tributary

Klein descended into Calderon to reach the River of Eternal Darkness and collect its water, protected by Sefirah Castle. At the river’s tributary, he encountered Death Emperor Salinger, Mr. Azik’s father.

  • Klein used a Historical Void image to return his actual body to Sefirah Castle, then entered Calderon with the Staff of the Stars and a bird-shaped gold ornament.
  • Klein used Sefirah Castle’s aura to resist Calderon’s deathly rule and stole distance to travel deeper into the city.
  • Klein reached a palace and read a warning that even deities could not escape and even death would be imprisoned before descending its staircase.
  • Klein encountered a dark tide and rising grayish-white fog, then found the River of Eternal Darkness flowing beyond the staircase.
  • Klein saw Death Emperor Salinger wandering beside the tributary, trapped in its waters, and recognized him as Mr. Azik’s father.

Ch. 1385Death Imprints

Klein discovered that his repeated deaths had left four imprints in the River of Eternal Darkness, which could drag his historical projection beneath the water. After avoiding Phoenix Ancestor Gregrace’s attack, he used Death Salinger as a distraction and successfully collected water from the river.

  • Klein’s historical projection was seized by four figures with his own face and dragged into the River of Eternal Darkness, so he returned to Sefirah Castle and retrieved the bird-shaped gold ornament.
  • Klein deduced that the figures were imprints of his four deaths and recognized that Azik’s many deaths could pose a similar danger; he decided to collect water only when the tributary turned dark.
  • Klein tried to collect the water, but Phoenix Ancestor Gregrace appeared beneath the tributary and attacked him, forcing him to abandon the attempt.
  • Klein returned and waited until Salinger turned toward the river, then used Grafting to make Gregrace’s light envelop Salinger while the bird-shaped gold ornament collected river water.
  • Klein returned to Sefirah Castle with the ornament and the water he had gathered.

Ch. 1386A grand scheme

Klein asked the Evernight Goddess about the gray fog around the River of Eternal Darkness and learned that the Lord of Mysteries had sealed nearly all the sefirot in the Western Continent. She explained how the Original Creator’s opposing personalities led to the ancient Pillars’ clash and how the weakening seal shaped later history, leaving Klein to ask whether this was why she had helped him.

  • Klein sent the bird-shaped gold ornament to the Evernight Goddess and asked whether the gray fog around the River of Eternal Darkness was connected to the Lord of Mysteries.
  • The Evernight Goddess confirmed that the River, the Western Continent, and the city behind the Bansy Harbor door were shrouded by a seal that trapped every sefirah except Sefirah Castle and the Chaos Sea.
  • The Evernight Goddess explained that the Lord of Mysteries and the ancient God Almighty fought because the Original Creator’s split personalities were driven to converge, and both Pillars disappeared after the battle.
  • She told Klein that the seal prevented later Sequence 0 gods from becoming Great Old Ones, forcing them to nurture a new Lord of Mysteries or God Almighty who might awaken their predecessors.
  • The Evernight Goddess described how the weakening seal let the sefirot influence the outside world from the Second Epoch onward, contributing to Fourth Epoch anomalies.
  • Klein said he understood and asked the Evernight Goddess whether this was why she had been helping him.

Ch. 1387Decision

The Evernight Goddess explained why she supported Klein and discussed his options for avoiding the Lord of Mysteries' awakening, but Klein chose to continue toward becoming a Great Old One rather than entrust the outcome to Amon. After making preparations and sending gifts to his acquaintances, Klein left a mysterious gold coin for Leonard to retrieve.

  • The Evernight Goddess told Klein she supported him because he carried the imprint of an era they shared, and she outlined the options of fleeing the Outer Deities or letting Amon take Sefirah Castle.
  • Klein rejected those alternatives, citing the danger to the world and the people who had helped him, and the Evernight Goddess advised him to prepare and see Antigonus.
  • Klein planned to use an avatar to steal Zaratul's undigested Attendant of Mysteries Beyonder Characteristic, then wrote to Mr. Azik and sent the letter with a mutated gold coin for the messenger.
  • Klein left a gold coin in an Evernight church in East Balam, and Pallez Zoroast told Leonard Mitchell to find a chance to retrieve it.
  • Klein visited Will Auceptin in Backlund and gave Him a lucky gold coin as a belated birthday gift.

Ch. 1388Who was friend, who was foe

Klein gave Alger the Sea God Scepter and instructed him to prepare to serve as the Sea God. He then assessed potential allies and enemies for his attempt to accommodate The Fool's Uniqueness, and left Sefirah Castle to visit Bernadette aboard the Dawn.

  • Klein visited Alger in Bayam and gave him the Sea God Scepter as a gift from Mr. Fool.
  • Klein explained the scepter's reduced negative effects and told Alger to learn its duties before using it to advance.
  • Klein analyzed how the deities and other powerful beings might respond when he attempted to accommodate The Fool's Uniqueness.
  • Klein identified his likely allies, enemies, and uncertain neutrals, then considered a worst-case scenario in which several neutrals helped Amon.
  • Klein decided to make further preparations and appeared aboard Bernadette's Dawn.

Ch. 1389Another use for the Wishing Lamp

Klein borrowed Bernadette’s Wishing Lamp and confronted Deng Shen, warning that he could use Sefirah Castle to control the lamp or wield it as a shield. After deciding he could not abandon his allies, Klein prepared to face the Antigonus Family’s ancestor while seeking to limit the damage a possible war of gods could cause.

  • Bernadette lent Klein the Wishing Lamp, and he brought it to Sefirah Castle.
  • Deng Shen warned Klein that making a wish would raise Bernadette’s wish count and that he would no longer grant wishes normally until Klein fulfilled his promise.
  • Klein proposed taking control of the lamp through Sefirah Castle and suggested using it as a shield because it had resisted a god’s attempt to destroy it.
  • Klein considered the devastation caused by past wars of gods and rejected giving up Sefirah Castle because that would endanger his allies and believers.
  • Klein planned to graft the Hornacis Mountain Range’s main peak into the Astral World to reduce harm to the real world, then created an avatar to steal his undigested Attendant of Mysteries Beyonder Characteristic.

Ch. 1390Facing It

Klein prepared for the coming battle and entered the Antigonus Family's ancestor’s palace on Hornacis Mountain. There he discovered that the Nation of Evernight and its neighboring City of the Dead were part of Antigonus's dream while he lay in Eternal Sleep.

  • Klein used Sefirah Castle to extract part of his Beyonder Characteristic into an avatar, then turned it into a marionette when it began to lose control.
  • Klein reviewed his battle preparations, created another avatar, and equipped Creeping Hunger for possible close combat.
  • Klein visited the City of the Great Old One, then grafted the summit of Hornacis Mountain onto the Astral World and approached the ancient palace.
  • Inside the palace, Klein saw a black-and-white town where the living and dead occupied neighboring districts, and recognized the dead as marionettes controlled from the summit.
  • Klein reached the palace and found the sleeping Antigonus in his original appearance, realizing that the Nation of Evernight and the City of the Dead were part of Antigonus's dream.

Ch. 1391Fate Trojan Horse

Klein attempted to steal Antigonus’s identity, fate, and self-awareness so he could accommodate The Fool’s Uniqueness. After succeeding, he took on Antigonus’s memories and madness, while Amon exploited a loophole to steal some of Klein’s anchors.

  • Klein had his marionette take the Trunsoest Brass Book away from Antigonus and kept Creeping Hunger with him as a source of teleportation.
  • Klein repeatedly failed to steal Antigonus’s identity, fate, and self-awareness, but the Evernight Goddess’s Concealment kept the attempt free from outside interference.
  • Klein eventually succeeded and saw Antigonus’s memories, from his birth as Flegrea’s son through the founding of the concealed nation in the Hornacis Mountain Range.
  • Klein became confused between himself and Antigonus, suffered the effects of Antigonus’s madness, and began to lose control.
  • Amon appeared in Bayam and stole some of Klein’s anchors, causing Bayam, New City of Silver, and New Moon City to vanish.

Ch. 1392Beginning the accommodation

Amon used Door’s authority to seal doors throughout the world and disable most Grade 0 Sealed Artifacts as Klein struggled to accommodate The Fool’s Uniqueness. Klein found a way to steal the Uniqueness from the sleeping Antigonus, while Adam gathered divine authorities and illuminated the Astral World, revealing the cracked barrier and the entities watching from beyond it.

  • Luca sensed that the silence around Sealed Artifact 0-01 signaled an extreme danger, but an invisible force kept him from opening the underground door.
  • Amon used Door’s authority to close doors across the world, temporarily preventing sealed items from being used, then waited for Klein’s ritual to begin.
  • Klein directed Antigonus’s mental imprint against the reviving will of the Celestial Worthy, but his body and mind continued to collapse until the stolen fate of Eternal Sleep put the corruption into slumber.
  • Klein used his remaining lucidity and Sefirah Castle’s power to steal The Fool’s Uniqueness from the sleeping Antigonus as the Concealment lifted.
  • Adam invoked the Chaos Sea and merged envisioned authorities and the shadow on his back into himself, becoming a vast figure of light.
  • Adam proclaimed, “Let there be light,” illuminating the Astral World and exposing the cracked barrier against which terrifying faces watched.

Ch. 1393Half a Great Old One

Adam used the Chaos Sea and Envisioning to become half a Great Old One and trapped the Eternal Blazing Sun, the Lord of Storms, and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom in their divine kingdoms. As Amon and the Evernight Goddess fought in the Astral World, the Primordial Demoness, Cheek, attacked the palace where Klein was about to accommodate The Fool’s Uniqueness.

  • Adam manifested three false Uniquenesses and suppressed the Eternal Blazing Sun, the Lord of Storms, and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom inside their divine kingdoms.
  • Amon entered the Astral World with the first Blasphemy Slate and dropped it onto a mountain peak in the Sonia Sea, where it manifested an illusory sea.
  • Amon tried to swallow the palace of Antigonus, but the Evernight Goddess appeared and erased him.
  • The Evernight Goddess trapped Amon’s mist world in a black coffin and used the bird-shaped golden ornament to slow the doors he opened.
  • The main peak of the Hornacis Mountain Range collapsed as Cheek’s tentacles and petrifying gaze surged toward the palace and Klein.

Ch. 1394Maddened Ravings

As Klein began accommodating The Fool's Uniqueness, Amon's avatars used maddening ravings to destabilize him and awaken the wills within him. The Trunsoest Brass Book imposed rules that silenced the Amons and barred attacks, but they began trying to invalidate those rules while Klein remained on the brink of losing control.

  • The Earth Mother blocked the Primordial Demoness's tentacles with rapidly regenerating plants, while the God of Steam and Machinery contained the Hidden Sage's information torrent in projections of human civilization.
  • Klein took The Fool's Uniqueness mask and began accommodating it as hundreds of Amon avatars appeared around him.
  • The Amons ravaged Klein with statements about the Primordial Demoness, the Outer Deities, and their plans, weakening his mental balance and stirring Antigonus's imprint and the Celestial Worthy's will.
  • The Wishing Lamp illuminated 0-02, the Trunsoest Brass Book, which established rules prohibiting speech and attacks.
  • Some Amons tried to strengthen the seal and invalidate the Brass Book's new rules, while the others focused on Klein and prepared to steal from or give something to him.

Ch. 1395A change of plans

Klein’s attempt to accommodate The Fool’s Uniqueness collapsed into chaos as Amon’s avatars attacked, forcing Klein to enact a contingency that separated his self-awareness from his original body. After becoming an Attendant of Mysteries again and stealing Antigonus’s digested characteristics, Klein let his original body awaken as the Lord of Mysteries and chose to advance into the true Fool.

  • The Amons awakened Klein with Everlasting Day, then stole his clarity and threw the competing wills and anchors inside him into chaos.
  • Klein redirected the Amons’ Stealing toward Sefirah Castle and a drop of blood blessed by The Moon Primordial, causing the avatars to become confused and disrupting their attacks.
  • Klein used his blank-faced avatar to steal his self-awareness, fate, anchors, and most identities from his original body, leaving it with The Fool’s identity and the reviving Celestial Worthy’s will.
  • Klein stole one digested Beyonder Characteristic from each Sequence 9 to Sequence 1 from the sleeping Antigonus and became an Attendant of Mysteries again.
  • Klein’s original body awakened as the Lord of Mysteries, and Klein dispelled the Realm of Mysteries, committing to advance into the true Fool.

Ch. 1396Joining forces

The Evernight Goddess and the others joined Klein and Amon in preventing the Lord of Mysteries from resurrecting inside Klein’s main body. The Lord of Mysteries fell back into Eternal Sleep and was struck down, but his converged Uniqueness and Beyonder Characteristics began forming the Fool potion as the Amons tried to steal it.

  • The Wishing Lamp broke through Amon’s seal and used the Trunsoest Brass Book to prohibit resurrection, while Klein contested the Lord of Mysteries for control of Sefirah Castle.
  • Amon’s avatars stole Klein’s Everlasting Day effect and Antigonus’s Eternal Sleep state, then transferred the sleep state to Klein’s main body.
  • The Ancient The Sun God’s prophecy declared that the Lord of Mysteries’ resurrection would fail due to interference from multiple parties.
  • The Evernight Goddess dropped water from the River of Eternal Darkness onto Klein’s main body, forcing the Lord of Mysteries back into Eternal Sleep.
  • The Evernight Goddess struck Klein’s main body with a sword bearing the Twilight Giant’s symbol, destroying the awakening will and causing The Fool’s Uniqueness and Beyonder Characteristics to converge.
  • Klein drew down part of the Fog of History to gather the converged materials into the Fool potion, and the Amons began trying to steal it.

Ch. 1397A miracle

Klein’s attempt to advance to Sequence 0 was disrupted by the Ancient The Sun God’s prophecy, Amon’s returned suicidal thoughts, and Antigonus’s fate. The Evernight Goddess killed Klein before he lost control, enabling his resurrection with his digested characteristics restored, and he emerged as The Fool.

  • The Amons failed to steal the potion after the Trunsoest Brass Book forbade theft, while Klein drew in The Fool potion with Sefirah Castle’s convergence.
  • The Ancient The Sun God declared that Antigonus’s advancement would fail, and the Amons returned Klein’s stolen suicidal thoughts during his ritual.
  • Klein used Antigonus’s identity to resist the suicidal thoughts, but the potion eroded his mind and the prophecy triggered Antigonus’s loss of control.
  • Klein returned Antigonus’s identity and fate, then faced the Celestial Worthy’s awakening as his own characteristics became insufficiently digested.
  • The Evernight Goddess killed Klein with her twilight sword and concealed the assembled deities, while Deng Shen made a rule favoring the return of Beyonder Characteristics.
  • Klein resurrected with his digested characteristics restored, transformed beneath a dark cloak, and appeared before Amon as The Fool.

Ch. 1398Authority

Klein became The Fool and struggled to stabilize the awakening Lord of Mysteries within him after the battle in the Astral World ended. Amon then entered Sefirah Castle by letting the Lord of Mysteries partially revive inside himself, leaving Klein facing a half-mad rival who had also gained control of the castle.

  • Luca Brewster, Leonard, and Danitz became confused and forgot their intentions as the Evernight Goddess’s influence over reality shifted.
  • The Ancient The Sun God’s command restored clarity to the beings in the Astral World, allowing Amon to escape and Adam to retreat while the gods resumed guarding the world barrier.
  • The Evernight Goddess advised Klein to seek stability, and Klein returned to Sefirah Castle to balance the Celestial Worthy’s will within him.
  • Klein discovered that his new authority was Fooling, but an intruder entered Sefirah Castle before he could study it further.
  • Amon revealed that he had released the Lord of Mysteries’ suppression within himself, gaining access to Sefirah Castle and partially allowing the Lord of Mysteries to revive.

Ch. 1399Home-field "advantage"

Klein tried to leave Sefirah Castle to gain help from his allies, but Amon blocked him, forcing Klein to use his divine kingdom to stall for time. Amon deciphered the kingdom’s rules and found what seemed to be Klein, only to discover it was a decoy made from the Fool card.

  • Klein judged that leaving Sefirah Castle would give him the best chance to stabilize his mental state and receive help from his allies, but Amon prevented him from escaping.
  • Klein created The Fool’s divine kingdom, filling it with dark-red doors that concealed different rooms and effects.
  • Amon tested the doors, used an avatar to trigger a Fooling effect, and exploited a loophole to avoid suffering its consequences himself.
  • Amon used his Cryptologist ability and Door authority to locate a room where Klein appeared to be waiting.
  • Amon entered the room, but the apparent Klein collapsed into the Fool card, which Klein had used as a decoy.

Ch. 1400Establishing rules

Klein used Sefirah Castle, the Trunsoest Brass Book, and Deng Shen to delay Amon and constrain his powers, while Amon repeatedly found loopholes in Klein’s defenses. The chapter ended with Amon escaping the book’s punishment and offering Deng Shen a deal to return to the cosmos.

  • Klein’s Paper Figurine Substitute revealed that Amon had used an avatar, and Amon exploited their connection to parasitize Klein’s real body.
  • Klein split into Worms of Spirit and used the authority of Fooling to evade Amon’s Worms of Time, then trapped Amon in a new divine kingdom.
  • Klein summoned Deng Shen and removed the Fooling effect from the Trunsoest Brass Book, which established rules prohibiting theft and fraud.
  • Amon escaped the room’s doors by turning into a clock and freezing them, then followed an illusory door into the wilderness around Klein’s shadowy tower.
  • Amon used Everlasting Day to expose Klein and tried to steal his powers, but took a paper figurine instead; he redirected the Brass Book’s punishment onto his shadow and offered Deng Shen a return to the cosmos.

Ch. 1401Conceptualization

Klein used Blind Stupidity and a star-like grafting to escape Amon’s immediate attack and seize control of Amon’s Spirit Body Threads. He then began grafting Amon to Sefirah Castle, seeking to intensify Amon’s madness before the Celestial Worthy could take over.

  • Klein lost confidence in Deng Shen after Amon’s promise went unpunished under the rule against fraud, and he chose to act without relying on Deng Shen.
  • Klein invoked the Fool’s authority of Blind Stupidity, disrupting Amon, Deng Shen, and the Trunsoest Brass Book, but Amon’s instincts still blocked Klein’s escape from Sefirah Castle.
  • Klein grafted himself to the concept of a star, bringing its destructive effects into the wilderness and setting Amon’s body ablaze.
  • Amon transformed into a conceptual creature to withstand the star, but Klein used the chaos to appear behind Him and seize His Spirit Body Threads, slowing His thoughts.
  • Klein chose to graft Amon to Sefirah Castle and the bluish-black Door of Light for one second, aiming to strengthen the Celestial Worthy’s influence and make Amon more irrational.

Ch. 1402"Madness"

Klein and Amon fought with the authorities of their pathways, as Amon used stolen emotions and a written history to make Klein give up. Klein then explained that Amon had deceived him from the start and was not truly half-mad, leaving Amon to answer that Klein had gone mad.

  • Amon exploited Klein's attempt to sever their connection to Sefirah Castle, then attacked him with spatial destruction and a swarm of avatars.
  • Klein used Fooling to escape Amon's time freeze and spatial cage, but repeated use of his authority threatened to awaken the Celestial Worthy's will.
  • Amon used a crystal monocle to steal Klein's emotions and desires, while an illusory book described Klein giving up the fight.
  • Klein asked whether Amon had deceived him from the beginning, and Amon confirmed that Klein had realized it too late.
  • Klein explained that Amon needed Door's authority and a hidden identity to enter Sefirah Castle, and argued that Amon was not truly half-mad.
  • Amon listened to Klein's deductions and replied that Klein had gone mad.

Ch. 1403A narrow path

Klein revealed that he had loosened his suppression of the Lord of Mysteries’ will and challenged Amon to a contest of wills over control of Sefirah Castle. Amon tried to escape by disguising Himself as the Lord of Mysteries, but Klein trapped Him and struck with Blind Stupidity and a Supernova Explosion.

  • Klein explained that Amon depended on a connection to a body maintained by Adam, then threatened to let the Lord of Mysteries awaken further rather than allow Amon to take control.
  • Klein dared Amon to risk their lives in a contest over whose Lord of Mysteries’ will would awaken first, insisting he was willing to lose himself.
  • Amon disguised Himself as the Lord of Mysteries to exploit Sefirah Castle’s confusion and escape, but Klein’s power of convergence dragged Him back.
  • Klein blocked Amon’s attempt to replace Himself with an avatar and used Blind Stupidity to leave Amon blank and motionless.
  • Klein Grafted himself to a concept in the starry sky and unleashed a Supernova Explosion that shattered Amon’s monocle and engulfed Him.

Ch. 1404A way

Klein survived his clash with Amon, but the Lord of Mysteries’ will began awakening as Amon’s Beyonder Characteristics converged with him. With the Evernight Goddess’s help, Klein temporarily delayed the awakening and chose to seek full control of Sefirah Castle, leaving his fate unresolved.

  • Amon awakened in the darkness, reflected on his difficulty understanding courage and sacrifice, and left for the cosmos to avoid Klein.
  • After Amon was shattered by Supernova Explosion, Klein felt the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth awakening within him and could not stop Amon’s Beyonder Characteristics from converging with him.
  • Klein used his believers’ anchors to slow the Lord of Mysteries’ revival, then entered the Astral World, where his presence drove away the hostile cosmic gazes.
  • The Evernight Goddess used water from the River of Eternal Darkness to place the awakening will and most of Klein’s consciousness into temporary eternal sleep.
  • The Evernight Goddess explained that Klein could try to control Sefirah Castle and resist the Lord of Mysteries in dreams, while Klein accepted the plan and noted that it might let him open weak points in the seal over the Western Continent.

Ch. 1405An impromptu gathering

Klein returned the Wishing Lamp to Bernadette and offered Will Auceptin help accommodating the Die of Probability, but Will refused to proceed while Klein was so close to losing control. Klein then summoned the Tarot Club without warning, where the members noticed The World was absent and sensed that something terrible had happened.

  • Klein retrieved an ancient silver mirror from the Forsaken Land of the Gods and returned the Wishing Lamp to Bernadette, accepting an iron cigarette case as payment.
  • Klein offered to help Will Auceptin accommodate the Die of Probability, but Will declined and predicted that a better opportunity would come later.
  • Klein returned to Sefirah Castle and summoned the Tarot Club without creating The World.
  • Audrey, Leonard, and the other members noticed The World's empty seat and worried about his fate and Mr. Fool's condition.
  • Klein, now truly The Fool, announced that the gathering was impromptu, and Audrey greeted him.

Ch. 1406The Fool's commission

Klein told the Tarot Club he would enter a slumber and assigned its members long-term commissions to help him awaken and prepare for the apocalypse. He left them with further dangerous investigations and protection duties, while promising rewards and limited responses to prayer during his sleep.

  • Klein announced that he would enter a slumber because of a war beyond the Sequence, and said the World had already fallen asleep with no known awakening time.
  • Klein commissioned the Tarot Club to spread his name and the World's deeds, establishing the World as his Blessed in the church's scriptures.
  • Klein asked Cattleya to investigate the Hidden Sage and monitor Beyonders of the Earth and Moon pathways, and tasked Derrick with protecting New City of Silver, New Moon City, and the Rorsted Archipelago.
  • Klein asked Fors to protect the Abraham Family, investigate Mr. Door and the Fourth Epoch, and write stories about the World's identities; he also tasked Emlyn with gathering Moon Primordial blessings and establishing a pharmaceutical company.
  • Klein tasked Xio with using official forces to investigate the Red Priest pathway's Sequence 1 characteristics and Uniqueness, and to seek clues about the Primordial Demoness.

Ch. 1407Questions and answers

Klein assigned the Tarot Club members their tasks and ended their gathering before preparing to enter the Door of Light. After freeing the people in the suspended cocoons to be reborn in the real world, he admitted he was afraid and stepped through the door with Arrodes.

  • Klein tasked Xio with investigating the Red Priest pathway’s Uniqueness and Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristics and the Primordial Demoness, warning her to be careful of Bansy.
  • Klein tasked Leonard with collecting the Mother Tree of Desire’s blessings, auras, and items from the Rose School of Thought, and suggested he spread The World's deeds through poetry.
  • Klein told Audrey to help Xio with her investigation and raise her Sequence to improve the chance of awakening The World, with outside help available at a price.
  • Klein told Alger he would learn his task later, let him take the Sea God Scepter, and announced the Tarot Club would meet monthly without a convenor.
  • Klein sent Azik a letter explaining that he might be asleep for a long time, then watched memories of the Tarot Club members and others gather around the long table.
  • Klein broke the suspended cocoons above the Door of Light, releasing the people inside to descend toward the newly dead, then admitted to Arrodes that he was afraid and entered the bluish-black fog.
