White Jade Tower
The blazing sun hung overhead.
Outside the Li Lineage gates, a little girl braved the scorching sun, staring fixedly at Long Aotian, who hovered in a corner.
The strange sight made everyone entering or leaving the Li Lineage stop and cast odd looks at them.
After these past few days, Long Aotian had long since grown used to such things. Why bother with the judgments of the mundane world?
Beside the Li Lineage pond.
"Xiao'er, the Li Lineage has made a name for itself now. Many cultivators outside want to join us. What do you think?"
Li Kuangfeng looked at his grandson before him and spoke slowly.
Li Xiao waved a hand and said indifferently,
"Grandpa, you and Eldest Uncle can handle these things. I won't get involved."
He had no desire to bother with all this miscellaneous business. The Li Lineage was such a large lineage. If he had to handle everything, wouldn't he end up more exhausted than an emperor of ancient times?
Having finally escaped the "blessing" of the 996 work schedule, he did not want to lift a finger.
Hearing this, Li Kuangfeng swore,
"You little brat, you're the head of the Li Lineage now. If being the lineage head were that easy, why would your grandpa have retired?"
Li Xiao helplessly rubbed between his brows.
"All right, all right. I'll handle it."
With that, Li Xiao tossed aside his fishing rod, turned into a streak of light, and appeared high above the Li Lineage grounds.
Li Xiao swept a glance downward, his brows furrowing slightly.
The Li Lineage was running a little short on land now. The grounds were a bit too small.
The Li Lineage had more and more disciples now. This could not go on.
At that thought, Li Xiao looked toward the outskirts of the Li Lineage grounds.
Then he drew a deep breath, gathering a surge of spiritual power in his abdomen. The next moment, Li Xiao blew a great breath toward that stretch of land.
A mighty force leveled the entire area surrounding the Li Lineage grounds.
Having cleared away the obstacles, Li Xiao flew down from above and surveyed his handiwork with satisfaction.
The next moment, several streaks of light flew over from the Li Lineage grounds.
"Oh, it's the young master. I thought we were under attack."
Gu Chungang and the others looked at the blue-robed youth before them and breathed a sigh of relief.
That tremendous boom and powerful presence had given them all a fright.
If something like that happened right under their noses, they would have been remiss in their duties.
"Young master, what is this?"
Liu Sanniang looked at the newly cleared plot before her, swaying her body as she asked Li Xiao.
Li Xiao glanced at her enchantress-like figure and hastily stepped away.
"The Li Lineage is expanding its ranks. We don't have enough land anymore."
With that, Li Xiao swept his hand, and two enormous carved white jade structures appeared before everyone.
Their eyes bulged, and their jaws nearly hit the ground.
Towering buildings had risen from flat ground.
Having done this, Li Xiao walked toward and into one of the towers.
The tower had three floors, each as large as a stadium and able to accommodate several thousand people.
On the first floor, Li Xiao took a pile of cultivation manuals of every description out of the system and placed them on the shelves.
On the second floor, Li Xiao took out all sorts of pills from the system, every one bearing nine pill patterns.
On the third floor, Li Xiao took out various divine weapons and keen blades, arranging them on the shelves one by one.
Gu Chungang and the others following him were about to go mad.
Such extravagance-even as a genius from over ten thousand years ago, Gu Chungang had never heard of any faction as lavish as Li Xiao.
Any small portion of these pills and manuals would have been a bottom-of-the-chest treasure for other sects and lineages.
"Young master... these swords, could I choose two?"
Gu Chungang looked at the dazzling array of magical artifacts before him, excitement surging in his heart.
These swords are all renowned blades! What kind of trash have I been using?
Although a sword cultivator's sword was his life, comparing the one in his hand to those on the shelves was truly like comparing sand to gold bars.
Divine swords had spirits, and a sword cultivator should trust his own sword, that much was true. But he really could not put his trust in the one he carried.
Seeing his yearning expression, Li Xiao smiled and said,
"Use and take these pills and cultivation techniques as you please. I built this White Jade Tower for you to use in the first place. Next, I'll have Eldest Uncle take charge of this place. In the future, you'll have to register before entering."
"Thank you for granting me these swords, young master."
With trembling hands, Gu Chungang reverently picked up two black swords.
Both swords were over three feet long and pitch-black all over, their edges giving off waves of cold light. At a glance, they were clearly treasures that could slice through iron like mud.
These swords were Specter and Shadow. An inexplicable connection existed between them: twin swords.
Gu Chungang held the Specter Sword, unable to bear putting it down, stroking it as though it were his wife.
Liu Sanniang and Du Dehai relied on their own cultivation techniques and internal power, with no need for weapons to bolster them.
Like the Undying Man, they selected some pills on the second floor, then left the White Jade Tower.
Having finished all this, Li Xiao once again leaped into the sky and spoke softly.
"Starting tomorrow, the Li Lineage will recruit guest retainers. Anyone at the Half-Saint Realm or above may come to apply."
As soon as Li Xiao spoke, his words echoed throughout the Upper Realm. Hearts stirred across the major factions, and some people immediately set off for the Li Lineage.
At that moment, several holy sons and holy maidens of the Four Symbols Sects all raised their heads and looked toward the Li Lineage, their gazes dark.
