History

Earlier Development

Ten thousand years before the main events, the developing Li Lineage used a marriage alliance to consolidate its position. Li Kuangfeng was compelled to accept the arrangement despite having privately pledged himself to Nangong Meng 44.

A thousand years before Li Xiao’s return, Li Yan was an outstanding genius and the intended successor to the lineage’s leadership. After receiving a blessing at God-Worshipping Mountain, he attracted masked attackers whose weakest member was an early Saint. He survived their ambush with crippled legs and declining cultivation, concealing the circumstances to avoid involving his family 10 11 15 18.

By Li Xiao’s childhood, the lineage was powerful enough that few in the Upper Realm dared provoke it. Its continued growth nevertheless threatened rival great lineages, particularly the Pan Lineage 1 4.

Pan Lineage Crisis and Li Xiao’s Succession

Anticipating a potentially disastrous conflict, Li Kuangfeng sent Li Xiao to the Lower Realm to preserve a descendant who could rebuild the family if necessary. Li Xiao returned after obtaining power from the Invincible System and soon reached peak Saint 1 3.

When the Pan patriarch ordered the Li Lineage exterminated, Li Xiao destroyed the Pan estate with two palm strikes, killing its patriarch, elders, and newly advanced Saint King ancestor. He then pledged to make his own lineage the Upper Realm’s strongest power 4.

Li Xiao subsequently secured the Hundred Thousand Mountains’ dragon vein and subdued its demonic dragon, Long Aotian. After his return, Li Yijian formally appointed him head of the lineage. Li Xiao announced a tenfold increase in cultivation resources and distributed nine-mark pills 7 9.

Rise to Regional Supremacy

Li Xiao installed the dragon vein in the forbidden grounds, established the Ten Directions Killing Formation, supplied cultivation manuals, and healed Li Yan’s legs. These measures strengthened both the estate’s defenses and its cultivators 10 11.

After surviving the Shadow Killing Pavilion’s assassination attempt, Li Xiao forced the organization to submit and ordered it to exterminate the Xiao Lineage. He then physically relocated its headquarters to the Li estate. Reports of these events established the Li Lineage as the sole great lineage standing above the Four Symbols Sects 17 18.

Li Xiao later expanded his ambition from dominating the Upper Realm to making the family the foremost lineage across the heavens and myriad worlds 20.

Conflict with the Saint Hunters

Li Xiao connected Li Yan’s injuries to the supposed blessings of God-Worshipping Mountain, which marked talented cultivators for an organization targeting those capable of reaching the Saint Realm 15 18.

Tang Xuan and six Saint Realm cultivators attacked the Li estate while Li Xiao was absent. The defensive formation blocked their combined assault and retaliated with peak Saint power. Yingzi and Ruoshui were defeated after attempting to attack Tang Xuan outside its protection, but Li Xiao returned before they could be killed 23.

The attackers were subsequently killed or driven away. Li Xiao healed the injured defenders and appointed Gu Chungang and his companions honorary elders. Three Executioners escaped as spirit bodies; Li Xiao could not track them because their auras were concealed or blocked 26 28.

Reform and Recruitment

After discovering that subordinate forces were committing abuses under the Li Lineage’s name, Li Xiao appointed four law enforcers and ordered a comprehensive investigation. He declared that he would dismantle the subordinate forces altogether if repeated punishment failed to stop the wrongdoing 30 31.

Growing membership led Li Xiao to clear additional land and establish the White Jade Tower. Recruitment opened to cultivators at Half-Saint or above, attracting applicants from throughout the Upper Realm. Black Tortoise Sect elders attempted to disrupt the process and were killed; the drive ultimately recruited 680 guest elders 35 36 37 38.

Four Symbols Sects’ Ceremonies

The lineage received invitations from the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, and Vermilion Bird Sects, but not the Black Tortoise Sect. Li Xiao divided its representatives among the three ceremonies 40 41.

Two attackers ambushed the White Tiger-bound shuttle, killing numerous disciples because they believed Li Xiao was traveling elsewhere. Their knowledge of his supposed itinerary led him to conclude that the lineage contained a mole 41.

At the White Tiger Sect, Li Xiao recognized an impending disaster and ordered the accompanying disciples evacuated. None were harmed by the White Tiger Consciousness’s subsequent rampage 45 47.

After returning home, Li Xiao learned that Yingzi had not returned from the Black Tortoise Sect and departed to investigate. Yingzi’s raiding party had been trapped by a spatial seal associated with that sect’s first ancestor 50.

Organization and Members

Leadership

• Li Xiao — Current head and principal protector. Members continue addressing him as “Young Master” with his permission 9.
• Li Kuangfeng — Former head and Li Xiao’s grandfather. Remains involved in administration and presses Li Xiao to manage the expanding organization 3 35.
• Li Yijian — Lineage ancestor. Announces Li Xiao’s succession and receives cultivation resources for distribution among the disciples 9 10.
• Li Yan — Li Xiao’s eldest uncle and former intended successor. Li Xiao proposes that he and Li Kuangfeng handle recruitment-related affairs 15 35.

Protectors and Officials

• Long Aotian — Guardian divine beast. Conceals himself inside a dragon statue at the main gate to avoid attracting attention 9 20.
• Gu Chungang, Liu Sanniang, Du Dehai, and Undying Man — Honorary elders assigned to guide disciples; later also appointed law enforcers 28 31.
• Yingzi and Ruoshui — Shadow Killing Pavilion master and deputy master, respectively. Participate in defending the lineage against Tang Xuan 23.
• Guest elders — The recruitment drive adds 680 cultivators at Half-Saint or above. Li Xiao promises continued support for those capable of further advancement 38.

• Li Chen and Ye Linglong — Li Xiao’s parents; both advance during the lineage’s month of rapid growth 4 28.
• Li Dan — Loyal disciple who represents the lineage at God-Worshipping Mountain, defeating Bai Xiaolin and receiving a supposed divine blessing 14 15.
• Li Yaoyao — Disciple whose intensive cultivation brings her to peak Sovereign; later helps lead the Vermilion Bird Sect delegation 20 41.
• Li Tong — Li Yan’s daughter and the lineage’s “little princess.” Possesses the Heaven-Devouring Saint Physique, awakened with Li Xiao’s help 18 32 36.

Li Lineage Estate

• Forbidden grounds: Formerly Li Yijian’s cultivation site; houses the relocated dragon-vein altar and prism crystal. Li Xiao orders guards posted and access restricted 10.
• Main gate: Contains the dragon statue used by Long Aotian during secluded cultivation 20.

• Shadow Killing Pavilion — Subordinate assassin organization used for covert operations and investigations. At submission, it reports more than fifty members above Ancient Emperor and over three hundred additional disciples scattered across the Upper Realm 17 18 31.
• Azure Dragon Sect — Friendly ties develop through Du Lie’s recognition of Long Aotian as his ancestor. Du Lie receives shelter and breakthrough guidance at the estate, though the lineage’s recruitment later draws away two-thirds of his elders 21 28 37.
• White Tiger Sect — Connected through Li Kuangfeng and Nangong Meng’s longstanding relationship. Bai Jiangbo welcomes closer family ties and acknowledges that his sect owes the lineage a favor after the ceremony disaster 44 48.
• Vermilion Bird Sect — Invites the lineage to its baptism ceremony; Li Yaoyao and Liu Sanniang lead the attending delegation 40 41.
• Black Tortoise Sect — Hostile after its elders disrupt recruitment and are killed by Li Xiao. It withholds a ceremony invitation and later traps a Shadow Killing Pavilion raiding party 36 37 40 50.
