A strange youth: a three-move clash!
"Why should killing techniques need to be flashy?"
Stone Spear's voice manifested in his mind, making Qingyang Huan's eyes shine all the brighter.
That was it!
Martial arts were for survival in the first place. Simple and effective-that was the best way to fight. Was pursuing flashy moves not putting the cart before the horse?
Having thought this through, Qingyang Huan looked at the bronze battle spear in his hand, then headed into the wild forest again. Deep in the ancient wilderness forest were venomous insects, snakes and ants, dust and poisonous miasma, and tigers and wolves in tides. Yet to him now, anything short of a Divine Repository fierce beast already seemed rather insignificant.
The surging blood Qi radiating from his body alone was enough to drive some snakes and insects away. Those that came close were crushed straight into bloody froth.
Naturally, his purpose in roaming the wild forest like this was to improve his strength and hone his combat techniques. Of course, he also had to hunt for blood Qi for Stone Spear. As long as he did not stray beyond the lands under Qingyang's rule, there would be no great danger.
Several days later, he had roamed more than a thousand li beyond the Qingyang Mountain Range. Along the way, he had seen several tribes that relied on the Qingyang Clan's protection. Now, as he moved through the ancient forest, the outline of a large tribe lay ahead, its stone houses stretching in rows. Judging by its tribespeople, its population was several times that of the Qingyang Clan.
But though many tribes had gathered there, their strength fell far short of Qingyang's. They were still people under Qingyang's protection. He turned away and vanished into the wild forest.
Several hours later, he appeared beneath a cliff. Eroded by the years, the cliff was riddled with loose, crumbling cavities. From one large cave beneath it came sounds like muffled thunder, and dense, violent blood Qi streamed out.
Speaking of it, he had spent quite some time in the wilderness over these past days, yet he had not encountered any Divine Repository Realm fierce beasts. Of course, he was not foolish enough to venture deep into dangerous territory to provoke one.
For the Human Race, advancing to the Divine Treasure Realm meant opening the great repositories within the body. For fierce beasts, it meant awakening the ancestral blood divine repositories within them. A fierce beast capable of advancing to the Divine Treasure Realm could well be considered a variant.
The blood Qi spilling from this cave surged wildly like a tide. Although it had not reached the Divine Repository Realm, it was enough to rank at the peak of body forging. Reining in all his blood Qi, he headed toward the cave with floating steps.
Bloody light flickered over the battle spear in his hand. Blood Qi like this surpassed the peak of body forging. Although it had not reached the Divine Repository level, its flesh and blood must have undergone a transformation, making it fine nourishment for absorbing blood Qi.
He cautiously slipped into the cave, which opened into a world of its own. It spanned dozens of zhang, with all sorts of fallen rocks towering within, conveniently providing Qingyang Huan with cover. He advanced all the way to the end.
Rumble!
In that instant of a breath, he struck. He surged forward fiercely like a roaring beast, blood Qi coursing over his bronze battle spear. The spear's light pierced three feet of dim space, thrusting toward the far end.
"Kill!"
At the same time, the curled-up beastly shape that had been snoring thunderously suddenly sprang open. An enormous bearskin was blasted into tatters by blood Qi, revealing a brawny youth!
Violent killing intent roared forth, as though he had been waiting for Qingyang Huan. Surging blood Qi rose like a tide, and a fist collided head-on with the bronze spear.
Boom!
As the two forces collided, ripples of blood Qi spread between Qingyang Huan and the youth. His hand shook as he gripped and withdrew the bronze spear, while the brawny youth opposite him staggered back and crashed against the rock wall, making the entire cave shudder.
What was going on?
After that strike, Qingyang Huan darted several zhang away and looked toward the youth. Wildness radiated from him. Could he be the fierce beast in this cave?
"Trying to leave? Again!"
Yet Qingyang Huan's appearance seemed to have enraged the youth. He immediately closed in, bringing his fist smashing down.
"Golden Ape Fist!"
Like a great ape emerging from the mountains, his movements were vigorous and nimble as he charged like an ape winding around a mountain.
Fight first, talk later. Qingyang Huan did not hesitate in the slightest, sweeping his battle spear across. After another exchange, however, he drove the bronze spear into the rock wall. There was simply no room to wield it in this cave!
Moreover, there was something strange about this fierce-beast youth who had abruptly appeared. Qingyang Huan already possessed fifteen thousand jin of tremendous strength, enough to sweep aside ordinary fighters at the peak of body forging. Yet a youth he had happened upon, clearly not even at the peak of body forging, could actually contend with him!
"Golden Ape Three Fists!"
After two exchanges, the youth grew even more violent. Blood Qi surged through his entire body like a great river, gathering directly upon his fist.
That instantaneous change made Qingyang Huan understand. No wonder the youth could contend with him. His combat technique was truly strange: he unleashed the strength of his entire body all at once. It was far too extreme.
Once his blood Qi had been spent in that eruption, he would be at another's mercy.
Clearly, these Golden Ape Three Fists were his three axe strokes. After three punches of utmost killing power, he would have no strength left to fight for a short while. Yet being able to unleash such fighting power was enough to crush those at the peak of body forging.
"Kill!"
Qingyang Huan swung his fist and met him. A glint flickered in his eyes. Both the youth before him and the combat technique he practiced had piqued his interest.
Though Golden Ape Fist was extreme, it could unleash strength far beyond others of the same level. Its momentum charged onward without retreat, violent and deadly!
Boom!
The two fists crashed straight into each other. At that moment, a bloody radiance surfaced all over Qingyang Huan's body. Beneath his beast-hide robe, his skin wrinkled and shimmered with light. Clearly, he too had exerted all his strength!
Violent blood Qi exploded. His body shook fiercely, the bloody radiance shattering, while the youth opposite him crashed straight into the mountain wall behind him.
Then the youth's imposing presence plummeted, and that wildness withered along with it. Clearly, Golden Ape Three Fists had exhausted all his blood Qi.
He had finally defeated the youth before him, yet Qingyang Huan felt no excitement whatsoever. He realized he had overestimated himself. He had thought that, having reached the body casting extreme realm and possessing fifteen thousand jin of tremendous strength at merely the third step of body casting, he could look down upon the peak of body forging.
Yet this youth who had appeared out of nowhere had shown him what talent meant.
"I lost to you. Kill me or carve me up, as you please."
With difficulty, the brawny youth lowered himself from the rock wall and leaned against it. Wildness flickered in his eyes, but there was not the slightest fear.
Yet the next moment, surprise appeared in his eyes. In a few bounds, Qingyang Huan vanished from the cave. Puzzlement filled his eyes, and he could not help rubbing his head. What was going on?
Had my ferocity scared him off, so much that he did not even want his bronze spear?
But soon, Qingyang Huan appeared again, dragging several fierce beasts.
Boom!
Tossing the fierce beasts straight down beside the brawny youth, Qingyang Huan said, "Replenish your blood Qi first!"
The youth froze, then readily complied. He had already lost to his opponent anyway. If Qingyang Huan had intended to kill him, he would have done so long ago. Grabbing a fierce beast, he absorbed its blood Qi and began replenishing his weakened body. His thinking was simple: he had nothing, so what could Qingyang Huan possibly be after?
Meanwhile, Qingyang Huan leaned against his bronze battle spear, his eyes flickering as he watched the youth sitting cross-legged and regulating his blood Qi, as though regarding his own prey.
